My Internet has been down for five days now in Phoenix although my direct neighbor has Cox and hers is still up. They don’t have any timelines to fix it, but I work from home and my job depends on me having an Internet connection. I’m at the point now. I’m about to switch to Verizon because I just need any sort of Internet And five days is pretty excessive considering they usually get it back up within a couple of hours. I’m not sure what to do because I’ve enjoyed having Cox for 10+ years and really don’t want to switch, but I need Internet and I don’t seem to have any or timelines on when it will be up. Anyone have any suggestions? Customer support just says they don’t have any control over and they hope its up soon.KeltAZ5 months agoNew Contributor55Views0likes4CommentsIncreasing frequency of internet outages (T3 timeouts)
I'm having ever more frequent internet drops over the last several weeks. It typically drops for only 1 to 10 minutes at a time. But happening more frequently of late. Sometimes it recovers on its own. Sometimes I need to reset the modem (Netgear CM1000v2). When I check the logs in my modem, the outages always seem to align with "T3 time-outs". My understanding is that this is indicative of some upstream interference, outside of my house. Perhaps stemming from an issue elsewhere in the neighborhood. I have read lots and lots of other accounts of people that experience this, and what seems like a very difficult issue to resolve. Pinpointing where in the system the issue is, source of noise/interference, etc. requiring more sr tech's to figure it out. I just spent the last 3 hours with a Cox live chat agent trying to express the issue. But only met with responses like "Thank you for staying connected". Or "I completely understand your concern. Thank you for reaching and letting us know about...". Clearly copy/paste responses the call center uses. Then asking me about other devices in my house, etc. I get it that Level 1 support is what it is. But when 20-30 minutes go by between each response, this is an unworkable path towards resolution. I've heard an informal FCC complaint is the only way to get any action. Is that really how the process works? I'm asking the community for a practical way to get support. The end of the last chat with the live agent ended with a presumptive "Just to recap, you messaged us today about your internet . I helped you with the internet . Your satisfaction means everything to us . Have we covered everything you wanted to discuss today?" Um...no.timster3305 months agoNew Contributor67Views0likes1CommentZachary La

I can successfully send and receive from my first migrated account. Yahoo makes use of a one-time App password that is used in lieu of the usual email password. Does anyone know if this password is tied to a specific app? Mail on a laptop and desktop would use the same password. Or is it tied to a specific email? Bob@cox.net in Mail anywhere would use the same password. Or is it a combination of the two. Yahoo generates the pw and tells you you don't have to remember it. So you're generating a new password every time you update the accounts on a new device? Internet Outages in Gonzales, La
Hi, this is my first post here. I’ve been struggling for the past 2 months with outage issues in Gonzales, La. and have nowhere else to turn. I work from home as a triage nurse and require direct line access to internet for my job. Cannot use hotspots. My problems first started with Cox contracting an outside company to rewire my apartment complex with fiber. I lost almost 4 days of work because of this. Then I discovered (after multiple service requests) that there was a bad wire to my building. That was supposedly fixed. Now I’ve had two days this week with “storm related outages” and i have not been able to work. I can’t speak to a representative/live agent because it’s a known outage. But I would just like to know what is going on and how long this repair is estimated to take. I could lose my job because of this.Ejmiller215 months agoNew Contributor61Views0likes1CommentRecurring internet outages for OVER 4 WEEKS NOW
My home has been experiencing service outages every single night since 04/22. Every night, starting at 8PM lasting until 2AM. Why can’t yall notify us of these things? Because of the predictability it leads me to believe that there is major work or scheduled work being done affecting internet. My wife and I work a swing shift from home. It’s really hard to work from home WITHOUT INTERNET. I’ve chatted in, called, visited store fronts, I’ve exhausted every single option to try and figure out what is going on and what can be done and all I get is “we don’t know, eta is XX:XX, pay us more money and we can send a technician to check out your home, pay us even more money for a support plan” etc. Not a single person can give me a reason. If there is major work happening, replacing lines, installing fiber, something that’s taking so much time and what not THEN TELL US. We jump into our shifts every night not knowing what’s to come. We are in jeopardy of losing our jobs and all we can tell our employers is “the internet is down again, my shift is going to have to resume later, sometime” and business is business so they’re going to get to a point where they’re going to replace us because of this. BUT IF WE HAD A HEADS UP WE COULD PREPARE PROPERLY. And I’m still expected to pay for a service I can’t use? You’re out of your mind. But HEAVEN FORBID they help and cut out great portions of the bill to reflect the amount of internet we can use in a day while this is going on. I’ve tried to switch providers in the meantime and Cox has monopolized the entire area leaving us no other option. And then support has the audacity to tell us that it’s our equipment…..I have a masters in computer science, I know what I’m doing with my equipment. I’m not renting your equipment that will just experience the same thing. I WANT MY MONEY BACK OR FIX THE **bleep** OUTAGE. And if you can’t do that, then GIVE ME A HEADS UP OR A TIME FRAME FOR THE REPAIRS OR SOMETHING, WHY IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR? “Sometimes it isn’t best to provide all details of repairs and outages” WHAT A CROCK OF SH**. If you did I’d be able to modify my work. This has been the biggest joke of A MONTH I’ve ever experienced with ANY internet provider. And I have no choice but to use Cox. Anyways…..anybody else experience something similar?aronaldp5 months agoNew Contributor161Views3likes3CommentsInternet speed issues
Hello, I am not sure where to go with this question as I have exhausted many of the options. so putting this here for someone to potentially help pinpoint where the problem is. i have (had) the PW7 gateway setup with a deco mesh network for our home. The plan was 1G mbps. We noticed that internet speed on TV streaming and laptop(s) is very weak. However, the speed on the iphone (as measured by the ookla app) was really good. Same when u measure with the Cox app. called cox and they recommended to move to the pW8 model and the 2G plan. I did. i was suspicious that it was going to resolve the issue because the iPhones were always registering very good speed. if the router or the plan where the issues that would not cause the iPhone to be good and the computers and the TV to be bad. Because we were reading 800mbps on iphone vs 50mbps, i don’t think it is due to the wifi6 vs wifi5. I thought that it might be the computer and the Wi-Fi adapter so I tested multiple computers as well as a wired connection and in both tests the speed was not improved. I am baffled by how the iPhone can read a faster speed than the other other equipment in the house and I’m wondering where there is a the solution available to us. Has anybody experienced this issue before any help is appreciatedrolandnassim305 months agoNew Contributor41Views0likes0Comments- lewandalilly2255 months agoNew Contributor50Views0likes2Comments

The repeated disconnects and quality of connection has been significantly reduced in the last six months. Connection is never stable and is terribly inconsistent. I am extremely infuriated in the lack of consistent service by this company. Also, I am disappointed in my own resistance towards leaving after so many years of subpar service. That will change now. As a business owner who relies on functional and fast Internet service to stay connected through video sessions with clients, this is unacceptable. Using Yahoo Email on iMac Double Emails On Old Emails
I was able to set up Yahoo emails on my iMac mail icon. After everything download onto my iMac mail my messages have doubled. Looking at my emails before I did it are showing a number 2 next to them. When I click on the 2> two of the same emails drops down. When I click on one of them and hit delete to go to trash both disappear leaving one in my inbox. The thing is that email is now blank. I go into trash and add back to inbox. The message appears again but the 2> come back. I now have over 1,000 messages which should only be 500. Hi all, I have a Technicolor CGM4331 modem router. I use my own router so the modem/router is set to bridging mode. The original connection was in the lower port over the power plug, I switched it to the upper port over the coax cable connector. Let's assume the port was bad and that my remedy was the correct fix: (1) Can I continue to use the Cox Modem/Router or (2) Is the bad port indicative of something that will affect the other ports? I am located in Portsmouth, Virginia, for the past year, since March 2nd of 2023, Cox upgraded all our internet to 1000 gig download and 100 gig upload; I am an international streamer and have been streaming online for five years now, and I was so happy that Cox was upgrading us to 100gig upload. Now, the problem! Just recently, I logged into my account this month, May 5th, 2024, and low and behold, they changed my plan without notification (Without sending an email or text) that they downgraded me to 35 gigabytes. I called Tech, and they were closed after hours. Then, I used their online texting service and reached someone overseas who could only read what I see now on my account and not what I had in the past. So, pretty much, I was talking to the wall! Has anyone else noticed their upload speeds drop? I have 7 wifi security cameras around the house, 8 wifi lightbulbs, 2 Wifi Wyze robot vacs (I test for Wyze), Pretty much all Wifi computerized house and most of my cameras are pet cams because I do TNR (Catch feral cats), watching the food bowl at what times the feral cats come around. Wyze cameras are cheap, around $20 a piece, and their monthly service is only $3, which helps to cut costs down for a disabled veteran like myself. I don't have TV service and only watch streaming TV through the internet, which Tmobile Military provides Netflix at a discount or free. The only high cost is COX, and I wish they wouldn't charge me $100 plus dollars for internet, but I need that high speed for streaming. Now they just cut the upload and didn't even cut my bill. Upload is critical for a multi-video chat stream while doing a professional video game presentation from home.FatJesusLIve5 months agoNew Contributor104Views0likes2Comments- Mariamagale15 months agoNew Contributor45Views0likes3Comments

New Panoramic Wifi broadcasting two networks?
Just set up my Panoramic Wifi (Technicolor CGM4331) and configured it to use the same network name/password as my prior Orbi mesh network. I have turned off all Orbi devices - the only modem or router in the house now is the single CGM4331 device. Most of my devices automatically connected, which is why I chose the same name/credentials. No issue there. My mobile devices now see two available wifi networks to pick from: One using the old network name (we'll call it OldNetwork) and one labeled "CoxWiFi". Both are showing as WiFi6. Both disappear if I turn off the CGM4331. OldNetwork shows as secured, and I have to put in my password to access it. CoxWiFi shows as unsecured, however it wants me to log in with my Cox account credentials to access it. Both appear to have similar speeds per the mobile device settings, and neither is labeled 2.4 GHz or 5.0 GHz which was my first thought. Why is the CGM4331 broadcasting a second identical-seeming WiFi network under CoxWiFi name with different login settings from my existing "primary" WiFi network? How do I shut it down/secure it/combine it with the existing network?cutetrill5 months agoNew Contributor285Views0likes3CommentsiPhone Mail and IMAP/POP3
You would think any email migration plan would have been designed to work seamlessly with the default Mail app on iPhones and iPads, but no. After generating a dedicated app password, I created an IMAP connection to the designated Yahoo IMAP server, but it just will not download messages between 6/25/20 and 4/24/24. Messages before 6/25/20 are there going back to 2009, and messages after 4/24/24 up to and including new ones are there; there's just a hole between the two dates. Removing the account and recreating it to force a new sync yields the same result. The messages appear properly in webmail. What gives? I even tried using POP3. It downloads a few thousand messages from current back to about 2018, then seems to get stuck in a perpetual download loop where it tries to grab the next 3000 messages, but fails a couple hundred messages in and starting over while deleting the messages that were successfully downloaded. I am wondering if there is some sort of download limit being imposed by Yahoo or Apple (possibly Cox).zept0sec5 months agoNew Contributor II39Views0likes0CommentsCOX to Yahoo, Forward email
