Please make an option to turn off screensaver
It serves no function, and even if it did, there is no reason to not let people turn it off if they want to. The TV channel is the screensaver, and there are all kinds of reasons that people might want their TV to stay on even if they are not there to hit a button on the remote. I have requested this easy fix by calling customer service many times with no real response. I see many people have been making this request for years. I'm canceling if the issue is not addressed by the end of the month. As of January 2025, my Cox service was upgraded to the Cox Panoramic modem/router. I was also upgraded to the newest Contour DVR (which can only operate with the Cox Panoramic modem/router). I have been with Cox since 2019. I removed my Netgear Modem/router, and returned the older Contour DVR to Cox. 3 years ago, I installed a KanexPro 5-Port HDMI 4K Switcher, P/N 5W-HD20-5X14K, that worked perfectly with the previous set-up (including controlling soundbar, receiver, phonograph, Bluray, and VCR). Now, with the new set-up, the picture flips on and off intermittently, when using the switcher. I have tried swapping out to different HDMI cables, to resolve this problem. If I run the signal from the DVR directly to the television, there is no problem. If I install the switcher back into the system, the problem comes back. I want to use an HDMI switcher in my system. Is there a known compatibility issue with Cox Panoramic modem/router and the newest Contour DVR, and using an HDMI switcher? Does Cox have a list of compatible/recommeded HDMI switchers to use with the Cox Panoramic modem/router, and newest Contour DVR? I finally was able to get the new Vecima tuning adapter working with my TiVo Roamio after about 2 weeks of back and forth with cable card tech service and finally started receiving all the channels I should be. However, now my Roamio is repeatedly rebooting at random when it receives some commands like rewind etc. Once it reboots, it doesn't see the tuning adapter. I then have to power cycle to TA and power cylce the Roamio again to get everything working. This has happened several times and is very frustrating. The TA appears to have the 1.8.0 firmware. Hello fellow Cox Customers, well I am a very long time TIVO customer and still continue to be a TIVO customer because we simply like the TIVO user interface. As most of you are probably aware, we were told recently we needed to update our existing Motorola Tuning adapters to the new VECIMA adapters. My question which has been very hard to get out of cox tech support is which channels that I have listed in my Cox Contour TV Preferred package actually required this external device tuning adapter. All I get back is if its an HD channel or Switched Digital it requires it. But yet pretty much all the channels in my allowed list are HD channels and I can get to them without using the tuning adapters. So figured I would as the smart people here does anyone have a more clear answer if these devices are actually needed if we are using TIVO and cable cards? Thanks and looking forward to the replies!! Contour receiver stuck updating
Hello, I just set up my contour receivers yesterday and this morning around 8 I turned on one of them and saw the message “Just a moment… You’ve caught us in the middle of a quick household update. We’ll be finished in a few minutes.” it has been stuck on this screen for 3 hours now. My 2 other contour receivers work fine. How long is this update supposed to take? I updated from mini box to Contour 2 box with XR1-RF remote. After pairing to new Vizio 32" TV everything works but Cox remote will not power on or off the TV. I have to use the Vizio remote. Tried different paring codes with no change. Switched out box with Samsung TV and it works on Samsung but box from that TV will not work on Vizio.
