How to Get a Pass Through of the Video Signal via the Cable Box
I have a Cisco/Technicolor Cox Cable box that I want the video to pass through to my TV (ie no processing of the video by the cable box). Hello suddenly my Cable tv sound cannot go through my receiver. Info: LG G4, Denon x4800, Cox Communications Mini Box I have tried: Swapping HDMI cables from cable box to receiver Swapping the coaxial cable Swapping the cable box (the known good box has no sound on this setup and the "bad" box has sound on the tv the known good box came from) So the box is fine. I do get sound if i plug the box straight into the tv via hdmi and send it back over ARC or use the tv speakers. So it's not the cable tv connection. I swapped other devices into the same HDMI slot and they work swapping the cable box to other HDMI slots still results in no sound input is correct I see video cable box audio is not SAP it's not muted I cannot for the life of me figure out what setting i changed that would've caused this. For whatever reason, there is no sound when the cable box is connected through my receiver. I did upgrade the firmware a few days ago. I saved my settings and did a factory reset and restored the settings. Still nothing. Have ongoing DVR malfunction since the upgrade. Have called numerous times to report issues with DVR and have been basically lied to . I had startTV cable channel on and suddenly sometime this afternoon it switched over to MeTV. If I hit the guide I still see titles for the correct shows, however, that’s not what it’s being displayed. Since around early December 2024, TCM (san diego 058) has had a completely unwatchable picture...though the sound is ok. It is severely distorted, pixelated, etc. Only that channel appears to have an issue. Tried "hard" reset (several times), and again with online tech support. Nothing fixes it, indeed it has gotten worse as time goes on. And it isn't just my connection, I see it everywhere in the area. It seems to me this is on their receiving/xmitting side. Tech support refused to report it, and continued to claim it is my box and would like to send a Technician out..no thanks. Anyone else seeing this?
