cox tv service problems in southington ct today 5/29/2024
Problems with cox trying to put in new systems. Our tv remotes are asking for for tv codes on all 3 of our telebisions. Cox was suppose to have everything by 8 am today. Now they are saying it will be fixed by 7"00 PM. This is very poor service. We paid almost $300 per month for cox services - 1 cell phone, 1 home phone, TV servicek and internet sevice. I am a 83 old male with severe hearing issues, and handicapes needto heve a procedure to iwiden left heart valve, also getting treatments on my narrow spiral colum issues causes lots of nerve pain. We no longer are able to place a simple phone call to get a cox tech to come out and fix the problems that we have today with all of our 3 tv sets.jimjay6 hours agoNew Contributor72Views0likes6CommentsLost All DVR Recordings Again
Oh well, here we go again. Had to switch out a faulty cable box and thought because it was the same box (according to the technician) all my recordings would transfer over to the new box. Instead, lost everything. It’s so **bleep** disappointing to be paying almost $50.00 more a month for the same exact packages, and the equipment fails every 3-5 years guaranteed. It’s getting to the point where I just want to give up on Cox. The customer service is unacceptable, farmed offshore, the billing department people seem to take satisfaction in denying any renewal of promotions, and the equipment fails repeatedly. Tired of this screensaver on my TV. We pay too much for our service to have COX tell us when we need to turn off our TV. What is the point of this anyway??? I am seriously considering changing to a different option for cable just because of this. I leave my tv on for my dog when we’re not home and it’s always dead quiet in the house when I get back. We sleep with our TV on and I’m sick of having to grab the remote 2-3 times a night because it’s off again. It’s really aggravating me and my entire household. A couple of nights ago I was watching a show on Start TV, channel 117 that aired at 10pm. Approximately at 10:50, the screen went black and never came back up until I checked it the following day. All other channels were working just fine. Now when I go to that channel, I’m able to watch all the shows being aired, but in the guide and on info, it states, “Channel No Longer Available”. I can watch the shows but can’t see what’s airing from the guide and there is no info available. Very frustrating! I did a reset, but that never changed anything. On 5/12 I called to put my TV and Internet on Seasonal Hold until October. I had to call 4 times because 3 times they said they were transferring me to someone else who could help but instead cut me off and hung up. 1 person said they didn’t even know what Seasonal Hold was and then hung up while allegedly transferring. I wasted 45 minutes calling over and over, being cut off and getting transferred to the wrong people who didn’t know how to do it. So on the 4th call I demanded the support person do a “warm transfer” where he stayed on the line with me so he didn’t hang up, made him write down my phone # if I did get cut off and finally got transferred to someone who set up the dates for the start and finish of a Seasonal Hold. But wait, it gets worse, I am hoping they effect the Seasonal Hold, not sure about anything with these Mopes, but as of 5/12 COX cancelled my DVR subscription after 11 years which wiped out all my saved recordings, cancelled all my upcoming recordings and made it impossible to record a new program, even manually by pushing the red button. We found that out the next day when we discovered all our programs were gone and could not record anything. Luckily a Tech Support person was able to restore my DVR service last night but it took over 30 minutes and multiple refreshes which meant the program we were watching went dark. I believe COX has a log of all my calls and knows who answered and therefore knows who cancelled my DVR subscription. No Outlander Season 7 episode 8
I signed up to Starz on Cox so I could watch the newest episodes of Outlander. But there is a problem. There is no episode 8. It jumps from Season 7 episode 7 to Season 7 episode 8. Cox has all the rest of the episodes except 8. I contacted Starz but they said this is a Cox problem.
