Contour Boot
Since March 24, 2025 Every Monday the Contour box displays boot and TV stuck on Welcome screen. Had been working with no problems until then. Last week TV finally came on after 5pm.....I schedule a tech, then TV comes on. Last time tech came out, could not determine problem. Is it the box or signal coming from Cox? Good afternoon. I have a question regarding some equipment that I need to clarify. So right now we are in the process of getting rid of the combined internet and WiFi router. Now my question is if I still have my panoramic WiFi modem, can I request to have cox issue me a separate modem for the phone service or would it have to be combined into one? We have a security system that is phone line monitored and we want to have the phone modem downstairs and the WiFi modem upstairs. Do you know if theirs a way to do that? the next question I have is regarding to cable boxes. I never really understood the difference between cox tv and the contour tv. Several days in the last two weeks I have been met with a we seem to have a problem message with a prompt to restart. This is first thing in the morning and after it reboots it is fine for the rest of the day. I do have an older-maybe 10 yo- DVR. Why, why, WHY do programs I'm watching on Cox constantly freeze while watching? It's annoying!!! The picture will freeze and then by the time it unfreezes, it has jumped ahead in the program. Why? I let a customer service rep talk me into getting the new cable box and it has been like this every since! The only thing that is constantly is my increased bill! I see why people cut the cord. I don't understand why I was bounced around and not communicated with regarding my situation. I'm very frustrated and this is something simple. I basically had a payment due on the 15th. I was a day late so I made arrangements to pay on the 17th which is tomorrow. I decided to pay today half the payment which was arranged with your agent. The agent can't even pronounce his name. Can't even spell his name but said that the second payment of $67 will be due on April 28th. Okay today they took both payments out of $67. All I want is someone to help me out with reimbursing me $67 into my account. That money is for my kids so they can eat for the rest of the week and your agents don't seem to understand that they don't even speak very good English to top it off. You can tell by the way they text messages and to talk right? But I need some help with this please and I'm very upset because I just they just left me hanging with just a thank you for your your service. I have to have my equipment reset 3 times a week to get any service to work reliably. Can’t weight fir Google fiber to get out of this nightmare. I have been using a different company for years and this is my first time with Cox. There are two things I don’t know if I have the ability to change in settings or not. How can I get my cable to automatically go to the next episode of a series I recorded without it prompting me to see if I want to continue to the next episode. This is a basic feature on all streaming sites and DirecTV but I can’t figure out how to do this on Cox. When I pause a recorded show, if I leave it on pause for more than 10 minutes it just stops the pause and goes back to what ever channel I was on before I started watching the recording. Is there a way to stop this? Sometimes a phone call comes in or something else happens and it seems odd it can’t pause for more than 10 minutes. I just spent over 3 hrs trying to get a subscription service cancelled that I mistakenly purchased. The end result was that supposedly the subscription was cancelled but they changed my current bundle pricing resulting in a charge of over $120 a month. Oh and they also disabled my wifi. I had quite a lengthy thread over the last months about DVR stuttering and dropping video. Then, someone turned off comments and no other posts appeared. I notice that it looks like COX is trying to placate/intercept folks with the same complaints by telling them that their issue will be escalated.
