Automatic recording time extension
How to stop "recording time will automatically extend if this program runs long" for sporting events. This feature will not allow consecutive events to be recorded. ie: Live golf on the Golf Channel 11:00-1:00. Live golf on CBS 1:00-4:00. Hello fellow Cox Customers, well I am a very long time TIVO customer and still continue to be a TIVO customer because we simply like the TIVO user interface. As most of you are probably aware, we were told recently we needed to update our existing Motorola Tuning adapters to the new VECIMA adapters. My question which has been very hard to get out of cox tech support is which channels that I have listed in my Cox Contour TV Preferred package actually required this external device tuning adapter. All I get back is if its an HD channel or Switched Digital it requires it. But yet pretty much all the channels in my allowed list are HD channels and I can get to them without using the tuning adapters. So figured I would as the smart people here does anyone have a more clear answer if these devices are actually needed if we are using TIVO and cable cards? Thanks and looking forward to the replies!! This is getting really crazy. I've been working with Cox tech people for weeks now to figure out why household updates are occurring outside of the scheduled time. And without notice.First we replaced my series 6 gateway router with an updated version. Still happening. Then last week my local Cox tech guy Sam suggested we replace the Contour TV box with a different one to see if that helps. We did that on Friday of last week. Still happening. Got a message in to him. Thankfully, we also have an indoor antenna so that we can watch TV. But, still, I am paying for excellent TV service and should be getting it. Why does Cox push their cloud based DVR when they obviously don't have the appropriate infrastructure to handle it? Crappy quality. They claimed doing a migration to another cloud provider would fix it. No improvement. Now tonight, all of our DVR recordings suddenly disapeared. When I called, I'm told they are doing an emergency cloud migration. I'm guessing someone screwed up royally somewhere. I was told I could sign in on any smart tv such as hotels or Airbnb’s with my cox credentials and watch my tv content when away from home. However, what I have found, even with smart TV’s is that the Cox app is not always available. In fact most regular smart TV’s do not offer the cox app to use. I have seen other tv provider apps but not cox. I usually go to the internet search bar and type in cox, but it never shows up. Could I be doing something wrong? Dreaded XRE-06014
I am trying to watch a specific program I recorded on my dvr. However, I keep getting the error code indicated in the title. It is only happening for this single program. I have done all the ritual actions. E.g. reset modem/gateway, power cycled the dvr box . To no avail. I have read on this forum that this is an on going problem. What to do? Additionally quite often my remote does not work for fast forward, rewind or exit. The stream often times blacks-out no picture or sound. Sometimes it comes back other times I have to get completely out of dvr mode and resume the program, once, twice or even three times. It is quite annoying. I don’t have to mention how much I pay for this service every month, I am sure everyone knows the cost. Given I just want this equipment to work.
