Cox has reached a new low...
Unfortunately for us, Cox is the only option we have in this area of Virginia. Their internet and webmail was bad before but in the last couple months and worse the last 2-3 weeks, they have sunk to a new low. Email doesn't update, I have to constantly "Restore" the internet pages, CONSTANTLY! Their customer "service" is nonexistant. How does a company, like this, stay in business? If I connect to the CoxWIFI hotspot on my phone, it seems fine. Can surf internet, watch a youtube video just fine. If I try and connect on my laptop, I have issues. Data Packet loss, high latency, DNS server unable to be resolved, etc. What's the point in paying for the service if it barely works or only works on my phone. My modem is rebooting every day at around the same hour, causing all my wifi and ethernet connections to drop. Log is not showing time-outs everyday but it is happening as I see all my devices disconnect at the same time. It takes a couple of minutes for everything to reconnect, or seconds if I manually turn off/on the modem. The coax cable is tight and not damaged from what I can see. I've already manually reset the modem multiple times and the problem didn't go away. I recently moved and I called Cox and had a very lengthy discussion where the man specifically told me to take my modem and all equipment to my new place. Now that I am here they are telling me I should have left it and that I should have equipment already at my new residence. This is a complete screw up on Cox I now have to go several days unable to do work or use any of my services that I'm already paying for because of this. I tap View Network Details/Advanced Settings/Port forwarding and I receive message “Something Unexpected Happened”. History: I recently changed my service and was required to use the Panoramic modem. The app didn’t work from day one. Changing the WiFi name and PW seemed to work, but I would get an error logging in. Support was able to change the 5GHz PW, but not the 2.4GHz. Support then opened a ticket. I decided to login directly using IP address and that worked! I also changed the IP address to 192.168.1.1 and assigned some static addresses to devices. I now need to add 1 port forwarding entry and I’m getting the above error in the app and you’re not allowed to changed port forwarding when logged in directly. Even the EDIT button for WiFi disappeared. Support opened another ticket and said they usually respond fast. After about a week I called again and support escalated the ticket. Another several days and nothing. A Factory Reset didn’t change anything. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Prior to Cox, I worked for Dell as an L2 Software support agent, and developed the Lane Training using Virtual systems to recreate common problems, Head of Field Engineering for a Data processor, over 5000 pieces of hardware in the field, analog and digital communications, channelized T1, (Newbridge Mainstreet), Multiplexors and more. Our neighborhood took a bad lighting strike yesterday and now the internet connection is either completely out or comes back on for a few minutes before dropping again. Being an electrician myself I can safely say it's not a problem with my equipment, it's outside my home, trust me I've checked. The problem with Cox is they won't take emergency outage calls on the weekend and the best we can get is a later appointment in which the charge $75 for a technician even if it's not a problem in the home. Nearly 3 weeks of daily spotty/intermittent connection frustrations. Even downgraded my speed, thinking maybe it just couldn't handle it. Still the same daily issues. Technical support has been no help whatsoever. They cannot comprehend that it's a neighborhood issue, not an individual home. Extremely frustratedand saddened at the treatment and lack of knowledgeby some Cox employees. I called requesting to speak to the ACP dept. I have spoken to them in the past and the gentleman told me there were two specific people assigned to these accounts. I do not know why the agents act like they have no idea what I am talking about, its a secret & refuse to provide the number or transfer. When I then ask for "customer service" I find out later that they say "Oh well I am tech support, not customer service but.... " wait what? So not only you cant help me but you lied. I was transferred 4 times- all agents tried to tell me I was notgoing to get a better deal. **I want to downgrade my service. I can notafford it.** it isnot about a better deal. I don't understand, every month when I get close the the data reset date, I get messages that I've used up a high percentage of my data and will be charged an overage fee. So I cut back on my time, turned off the wifi on my phone, so to use the phone service data plan that i pay for and limited my streaming time. But the Cox data usage seems to keep going up. I paid yet somehow it was lost and a month later we still haven't settled it. I had to get the payment disputed and to be charged a late fee for something I had nothing to do with is messed up. I send them all my bank documents even asking my bank for more. Yet the people who reviewed my ticket said it wasn't enough. My problem is it's not the first time they lost a payment and acted like this. Last time I went without tv(didn't have internet then) for year's. Who keeps making the new Cox webmail harder & harder to use? 1.) Checked emails (to delete) stay in the inbox after clicking the trashcan. One has to click the trash folder then return to the inbox to see them deleted. IMO they should be gone almost instantaneously when clicking the trashcan. 2.) I spent about 15 minutes trying to figure out how to access my Rules filters and finally had to use the searchbox. A week ago I clicked the left "settings" and there was a link to them - why change? Cox is not honoring offer sent via email
I was sent an email for 1GB internet for 69.99 a month w/unlimited data. The redeem now button is not working and the offer is not in my offers online. I called the number in the email and was transferred from the sales dept, to the loyalty dept, to tech support and ALL of the agents were able to confirm they were able to see the email I was sent, but NONE of the agents were able to honor or push through the offer. I use the BlueMail App on a Google Pixel 7 Does anyone know why I can't send emails consistantly, using my Cox email address while connected to Verizon. It doesn't happen all the time. Cox took something that was not a problem and made it into a problem. Cox managed to have just four emails appear in the Cox Email inbox. HUGE space at top of window is just blank. The COX Blue banner is HUGE sucking up more space. There are no cursors to move boundaries, no recourse except to shrunk fonts to size 000, go get a magnifying glass to put more email on the screen. "the settings could not be updated. please try again later." Name or password will not change. Whats the point of the app if it doesn't work? There are many older wifi devices which can not find the right band unless the 2.4 and 5 are identified with different names. The current limitation of the wifi pods to have both bands on the same name makes them useless. Is there any way to get around this. Is there any chance that COX will remove this limitation? This is very frustrating when trying to configure my smart home. I have 55 connected devices between both bands in a large home and the single panoramic gateway has weak/dead spots. Around the middle of August a Cox tech came to fix some internet problems we were having, in the process he had to unbury the cable that connects to Cox. He put in a ticket so the cables would be buried. It has been already more than 5 weeks, the cable is still unburied and the only thing that has been done is the planting of some red flags to mark the pipes. Communication with Cox hasn't brought up any information apart from "there is a ticket for it" and "No information". Is this normal? Has anyone else had the experience of choosing a plan with Cox and using ACP program? My issue is it specifically stated online that my plan would cost me $19.99 a month instead of $49.99 with this applied. I ended up having to pay a $50 deposit and I'm being told that it was $119 from the beginning. Whatever happened to false advertisement and misleading the customer as a no-no. On a Roku, how do I stream Cox channels I pay for
I have Cox digital and a Roku. I have managed to get some of the Discovery and History channels to stream on my Roku..Not live tv.. Yet other channels will not stream. Such as Boomerang cartoon channel, CBS live, ABC live, etc., that I pay for, through Cox. How do I get these channels to link to my Roku through my Cox account without having to pay additional fees for the channel? Is there a way to stream ALL Cox channels on the Roku? I Just signed up for the 500mbps internet only package. In the information advising it is $59.99/ month, it specifically states "INCLUDES unlimited data". However, after reading deeper in the website's internet service, it starts that ALL residential internet packages come with 1.25 tb of data. With that said, which is it? Unlimited or 1.25tb???? I get an access denied error message when trying to access several major sites, namely: publix.com, lowes.com, ihg.com, and hollandamerica.com. I consistently get this msg using 4 different devices all connected to Cox internet - 2 Windows 11 computers and 2 Pixel phones. I've tried 4 different browsers and get the same message. However when I switch off the Cox wifi on my Pixel phone and use my cellular network, I can access these sites without an issue. Does anyone know if cox will pay to repair the damage to my home due to the cox cable to the power pole across the street sagging to low.
