No equipment
I just purchased the Panoramic WiFi Gateway $70 plan this past weekend and haven’t received any updates on the modem, there is no tracking or even instruction that it will be mailed and to wait for it. I’ve reached out to support to even just confirm I need to wait for it in the mail and they won’t, so I’m not sure. They insist I have a modem or need to contact my leasing office, who only refers me back to Cox as they don’t provide them. I’ve never had Cox until now so I wouldn’t have anything for it. I called the store near me and left a message, they never got back to me.Jplei12 days agoNew Contributor22Views0likes1Comment- jrichard12 days agoNew Contributor17Views0likes1Comment
Internet Data
Would like to know why such the fluctuation with data information. My son and I have been really trying to understand where the information is coming from. My "Other" data went from 8% last statement to almost 30% this statement. Please tell me where this other data is coming from because we are really starting to question if this information is legit. If this data is questionable and you can't put it in a category then is it really data??? I know they are in process of configuring the data information but honestly it's looking really dishonest. We have been calculating everything we do. Also apparently we went over 1 GB over my account allowance last statement and was charged for 10 GB., which is fine but I really think unused extra blocks purchased should roll over to my next statement. Just really frustrated!Solved226navajo12 days agoNew Contributor58Views0likes3CommentsEmail: Cox to Yahoo to Gmail
A lot of people have been trying to sync their Yahoo Cox.net email with Gmail with mixed results. I thought I would leave the solution I found to this issue for everyone. To import email from your Yahoo Mail cox.net email account: Make sure you migrate your Cox email account to Yahoo first by signing into mail.yahoo.com with your Cox account credentials (emailCox.net + your original Cox email password). Setup your Yahoo account recovery options at: https://login.yahoo.com/myaccount/security/ Generate an "App Password" for "Gmail" on that page. Log into your Gmail account. Go to the "Settings" "Accounts and Imports" section: https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#settings/accounts Click "Add a mail account". Enter your full Cox mail email address (emailCox.net). Select "Import emails from my other account (POP3)" and select "Next". Enter the following information for your account: Username: email@cox.net Password: App Password you created for Gmail on Yahoo POP Server: pop.mail.yahoo.com Port: 995 Check the box, "Always use a secure connection (SSL) when retrieving mail." Click "Next" or "Save Changes". That should work. Make sure you generate an App Password on Yahoo and use that instead of your regular Yahoo password. Also, make sure to use the full email address including the Cox.net part for your username with the designated POP Server address above.MrWizard13 days agoNew Contributor95Views0likes1CommentLost connection

WiFi is so Inconsistent!
My WiFi is so inconsistent! I’m tired of having to wait for it to come back or unplugging and plugging back in then having to wait for it to reboot. It’s ridiculous that I pay money to have consistent service yet I don’t receive that… they need to give discounts if I can’t even use the internet half the time. Unfortunately my neighborhood doesn’t have a lot of options for internet but I bet Cox needs to update the lines here because I can’t be the only one with these issues. Has anyone else had these issues and did Cox ever do anything that actually solved this problem? I had this issue at the last place I lived which is only 20min away and all they did was just give me a new gateway and that did nothing to solve the issue. I don’t want to have to go through that process just for them to do the same thing and nothing be fixed.Caldmack31717 days agoNew Contributor161Views0likes2CommentsMy Cox Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz speed

I recently signed up with Cox Cable Internet since I'm working from home a lot more and needed some higher speeds than DSL. Since I've had it, which has only been a week, I have had to restart the gateway almost every day due to having abysmal speeds. I am signed up for the 250mps plan and was getting 10% or less of the speeds. One day I had to restart it several times which really affects my work productivity if I have to keep restarting. I tried talking with a rep and was literally walked through the exact same thing I told them that I did (restarting the gateway several times). I will say once the gateway is rebooted, the speeds come back, but I feel like it's only a matter of time before I have to reboot again. Thankfully I have a long ethernet if needed that I can hard wire in to my work station here at home (which I have and had no issues). Anyone else run into this? It's upsetting since it's so pricey; I would like for it to be way more stable :(Jakey39918 days agoNew Contributor87Views0likes1CommentInternet constantly up then down

I’m not even sure where to start, I started with Cox June 8th 2024 with the 1 Gig plan which is $80 a month. I’m a huge gamer, and I make a living off of the internet. My internet goes out at least 3 or 4 times a day with a download speed of 16-30mbps… I pay for 1 gig or up too. I reached out to cox and told them the issue, had a tech come out and he told me the equipment on the power pole was out of date which is why I am not getting the proper speeds. He said maintenance will be out to service the issue. About a week goes by and no maintenance has been out to check out the issue. Internet is still has terrible speeds etc. I finally get another tech sent out, he told me face to face that there is corrosion on the Cox equipment on the telephone pole which is the cause my my issues.>>>> (Now while all this is happening I was told by an agent that my bill would be waived and credited. I got emails from cox saying my bill is over due, please pay $148 to avoid suspension<<<<<<.) I reached back out to a live agent, just to confirm he said that I have a $0 pending balance and to ignore any email or bills because they all say $0 balance due<<<<<<<) I also have screen shots of everything as well…Finally maintenance came out, not sure what he did, said his equipment is showing my router was healthy, which is weird because all my top dollar equipment says otherwise, YouTube is buffering constantly, can barely watch Netflix yet alone stream video games or work. Every technician that came out said something different. If I was not told what that live agent said to me saying to ignore any bill and my balance is $0 I probably would have paid it. Instead I am $348 in the hole with my services suspended because on non payment. Paying for 1 gig and but instead I get 30-60mbps. So now I am suffering consequences of a live agents ignorance. I've researched this thoroughly and the Panoramic WiFi router that Cox provides eats 7 to 8GB per day just doing its own security updates. I would rather send this to Cox directly but that doesn't seem to be an option. I don't really want to deal with Oliver, either. I keep the Cox Panoramic WiFi app around so I can check if Cox is still screwing the poor people who use Cox Connect. I used to love using that app. When I moved to Cox Connect I was required to exchange my Technicolor modem with Cox. Interestingly, the Arris gateway Cox sent will work just fine with Panoramic WiFi by Cox’s own website admission. I like the gateway and it’s not the problem. So, it begs the question why Cox Connect users are banned from using the PW app? Is it somehow expensive, or did Cox decide that those of us in the lower class just don’t deserve the fancy stuff? I’m not the only one who is ticked off at Cox for this situation. Many discussions online. I can’t tell you how many hours I spent trying to correct this ridiculous situation. Not to mention the many customer service peeps and technicians I tied up because, like me, just about none of them even knew about this lousy decision by Cox. Several techs seemed surprised that Cox might make such a policy. When the techs thought they had it fixed, of course, it never worked because they didn’t know. At a support person’s suggestion I filed a Ticket (if that is what Cox calls it). The next day I received a call from someone who is apparently a Big Wig at the Cox Atlanta High Command. She didn’t let me talk much as she tersly informed me that there was one customer rep who I spoke to who was quite right - Cox Connect customers don’t qualify for using the PW app. When pressed for a reasonable reason why this is so, she refused to say. She seemed to be highly annoyed that she had to deal with this situation even though I was, as always, striving to be polite — something she seemed to struggle with on her end. I then decided to just let it go. I wasn’t sure that Atlanta wouldn’t sabotage my WiFi (not really, but kinda really) if I was too big of an ass pain. BIG TIP for management: You really should alert employees at all levels when instituting such policies. Doing so tends to save time, money and customer/employee/Big Wig frustration. When I complained on the Cox support group several others responded saying they are in the same boat as me. The moderator was very nice and said she would alert the higher ups. Well, plenty of time has passed that Cox could have made changes. I guess the higher up Wigs at Cox don't know, or they just don’t give a **bleep**. I will try the PW app again in 6 months to see if there is any change.mattamx22 days agoNew Contributor II51Views0likes0CommentsNO Internet (WIFI)

Today marks the 4th week in a row. That's right 4th week in a rowthat I have inconsistent internet coverage. I pay for the 1GB plan which is already over $100 not including the modem rental. About 4 weeks ago I noticed that between 5PM and 9PM my download speeds would dip from about 950 mbps to around 700 and my Uploads speeds would dip from about 40 mbps to about 1-5mpbs. The average person wouldn't care but I use my PC as a secondary source of income and those hours and speeds very much matter. Every day that passes that I'm unable to use my internet effectively around my day job is money out of my pocket. I called every day for about a week and a half, I was strong armed and gaslit into updating my modem and was assured by several people it will definitely resolve my issue. Well lo and behold it did not. I finally managed to get ahold of a manager and almost everyone I've spoken to has been so considerate and kind and helpful. The manager was very polite and sent out a tech free of charge, the tech verified everything in my apartment and said there were no issues. He did say however that the box outside was flagging some errors and he would let the mainline team know. This was almost 2 weeks ago and I haven't noticed a single soul come out to attempt to fix anything but I could be mistaken. Which leads me to this week, there has been an "active outage event" in my area for almost a week now and when I lose reliable service is becoming more and more random and somehow even more unreliable. I am officially at my wits end. It has been 4 WEEKS and all Cox offers are assurances it will get fixed eventually and they're definitely doing they're best. I asked for a credit on my account just today and all I was offered was $25 off my $125 bill for let me remind you, 4 WEEKS of inconsistent usage. When I told the rep I wanted to speak to manager she said I had to tell her why. I explained I want more compensation than what she offered and she told me no because she already authorized the measly $25 credit and told me basically she can't assist me any further since there's an active outage event and they aren't sure when it'll finally be resolved and told me to have a nice day. I have things to do, events to plan and people to get ahold of and I cannot spend the rest of my summer like this especially if I'm receiving no compensation for it on top of the countless hours I've spent on the phone, in store and on webchat trying to resolve this and on top of that the amount of income I've lost due to the inconsistent service. $25? Clearly your customers are a joke to you. And so here I am, angry and upset and frankly at my wits end. I hope that someone sees this and can offer me more than a $25 credit and an "Idk." I will be calling your tech support every day to speak to someone actually willing to make this situation right and I can assure you with 100% confidence I will be taking my business elsewhere as soon as I'm able if this is not resolved.
