Email: Cox to Yahoo to Gmail

A lot of people have been trying to sync their Yahoo Cox.net email with Gmail with mixed results.

I thought I would leave the solution I found to this issue for everyone. To import email from your Yahoo Mail cox.net email account:

1. Make sure you migrate your Cox email account to Yahoo first by signing into mail.yahoo.com with your Cox account credentials (emailCox.net + your original Cox email password).
2. Setup your Yahoo account recovery options at: https://login.yahoo.com/myaccount/security/
3. Generate an "App Password" for "Gmail" on that page.
4. Log into your Gmail account.
5. Go to the "Settings" "Accounts and Imports" section: https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#settings/accounts
6. Click "Add a mail account".
7. Enter your full Cox mail email address (emailCox.net).
8. Select "Import emails from my other account (POP3)" and select "Next".
9. Enter the following information for your account:
   1. Username: email@cox.net
   2. Password: App Password you created for Gmail on Yahoo
   3. POP Server: pop.mail.yahoo.com
   4. Port: 995
   5. Check the box, "Always use a secure connection (SSL) when retrieving mail."
10. Click "Next" or "Save Changes".
11. That should work. Make sure you generate an App Password on Yahoo and use that instead of your regular Yahoo password. Also, make sure to use the full email address including the Cox.net part for your username with the designated POP Server address above.
