ConnectAssist Plan doesn't include access to Panoramic Wifi App.
I've been with Cox for many years. Previously I was on the 100 download plan for $50. which used one of the Technicolor gateways. I loved using the Panoramic Wifi app. Now that I'm retired my income is low enough that I qualify for the ConnectAssist Plan, still at 100 download, but for $30, so a little less expensive. I was required swap out the Technicolor gateway for an Arris TG1682G gateway, which also supports Panoramic Wifi. But, after setting things up, I was very surprised to find that I can't use the Panoramic Wifi app with the ConnectAssist Plan, as I was tersely told by the lady from Cox who called after a Ticket was submitted. Hmm I have to wonder why use of the Panoramic Wifi app was revoked from people with the ConnectAssist Plan. The Arris gateway is able to work with it. Is the use of the app somehow expensive for Cox? Or maybe us poor folk don't have the skills to use the app. Maybe Cox didn't want to put in the effort so discounters can use the app because we just don't deserve it? I would just like to know. Whatever the reason may be, it sticks in my craw and it really isn't a good look for Cox. Alright, I'm done talking. My question is, does anyone know if the Cox lady who called me is correct -- the Panoramic Wifi App doesn't work on the ConnectAssist plan? And if that's true, why is it that way. So, I've had Cox before, really had no issues. Re-connected last year, took 4 months for coax to be ran into home. Smooth sailing for 7 months, up til last month. Downed to 250 plan, disabled vet, fixed income, etc. Issues with Amaz- equipment, rolled into Gateway...$15/mo, ok. Last billing cycle- shows an overage of...700GB. Went to Cox store in Henderson, worthless help! Tells me that all he could do is suggest/up-sell unlimited plan or sell me the 500GB add-on. WTH? He explains that's all he can do, suggests I contact tech support...really? Last 4 month usage with 1024GB cap- overage once- one time $10 for 50GB..one 2 months prior. I dispute adamantly this recent charge; makes no sense...with almost daily outages, not really happy anyway. Did I mention 25+ year IT manager/director veteran? Who do I contact to request review?67Views0likes8CommentsPaying for 1gig, getting less than 100 mbps
We moved into this house a couple years ago and started our internet service with 250 mbps package for $99/month. We consistently had issues with service speed and data overages. A few months ago we upgraded to the 1 GB package and are now paying $166/month. We continue to have service speed issues and consistently test speeds from 25mbps to 90mbps. We have upgraded the modem. We have made multiple calls for technical support where we spend 30-45 min on the phone without any resolution. We have asked for a service technician but none has been scheduled. We have installed Ethernet ports to have more wired connections. I’m currently searching for other service providers to help me resolve this issue. I’m frustrated that it has been this hard to get help to fix my service.36Views0likes1CommentModem resets frequently.
Few months back COX upgraded our speed from 500 MBPs to 600 MBPs. We did not request this upgrade, and Cox did not change for this upgrade. This issue is observed in Irvine, Orange County California. Since then, we have been facing issues. The modem restarts frequently. I called technical support a few times, and they always mentioned that they didn't see any issue on their side. It must be my connection etc. I am not alone in facing this issue. Our friends in this area face exactly the same issue. Technicians visited homes and confirmed there was no issue with the wiring. But they never resolved the issue. There is no way to escalate this to another higher level. To me, it looks like a bandwidth issue. I already replaced the modem and don't see any improvement. In one call with technical support, the engineer mentioned seeing the backed-up traffic. they also installed an attenuator(10 DB) at my modem to reduce signal strength. I see the same issue with and without an attenuator.38Views0likes2CommentsSuper slow speeds at night
My speeds drop down to a crawl at night during peak hours. Have been doing it for months now. Called cox, they said it’s my modem, bought a new one, same issue, they came out, said the tap was rusted, replaced it, same issue. I’m thinking it’s a network problem on their end and I’m extremely frustrated. I’m dealing with speeds as slow as just a couple Mbps most nights. Wondering if anyone else in the North Las Vegas area is experiencing this.79Views0likes4CommentsYahoo Email Transition - iPhone Setup
Has anyone seen anything from Cox indicating that they know there is an issue with setting up iPhone default Mail app to work with the new Yahoo mail server we have moved to? Finally got all of my email accounts on Outlook set up and working. Not a straightforward process in the least and now instead of a Spam/Junk mail folder we get something called a "Bulk" mail folder. Looking forward to the day when AI can learn from my Deletions and automatically take care of Spam email for me. ;-)Solved12KViews0likes14CommentsSpeed drops after high usage for 5-10 minutes
Hello everyone, I recently upgraded to the Cox 2Gb internet plan and have been encountering a frustrating issue with speed throttling. I can achieve download speeds of up to 1.6+ Gbps, but this only lasts for about 5-10 minutes. After this brief period, my download speed drops dramatically to around 50 Mbps. Rebooting the router temporarily resolves the issue, restoring the high speeds, but the cycle repeats itself, requiring frequent reboots to maintain optimal speeds. This is particularly inconvenient when downloading large files. Has anyone else experienced similar issues? Is there some sort of bandwidth limit? Any advice or solutions would be greatly appreciated29Views0likes1CommentBandwidth problems
I have paid for 500 Mb service and seldom receive it. Speedtest is usually around 25 to 50 Mb. Sometimes as little as 5MB. I live in Topeka, Ks and checked speedtest to both Wichita and Omaha Cox servers. I can change to a local server from another company and get the 500 Mb so I know it isn't my line. Cox seems to have an internal problem.Solved61Views0likes2Comments
