Compatible Cable Gateway
Help, please. After 9 years of continuous service, my Arris/Motorola Surfboard died tonight. Back when I bought it, somewhere on the Cox site there was a list of compatible devices we could get if we wanted to supply our own. I can't seem to find anything similar now. My internet goes out continuously throughout the day. I bought a tester, and the issue is coming from the box attached to the side of my house. Is that box really necessary, or does it just provide a connection point between the cable coming from the source and the cable going into the house? About a month ago I started having issues where websites would constantly ask me for captchas, sites like Venmo would give me weird HTTP 503 errors, and Netflix would give me an E100 error code on every video. I've tried this on 3 different operating systems, Android, Windows, Mac. If I'm on my 4G network, it works ok, but on my Cox router, I still keep getting captchas and errors. I tried rebooting my modem several times, leaving it off at one point, and nothing seems to be working. I had the panoramic wifi modem/router combo and it finally started crapping out after about 2 years. I went to the Cox store and swapped it for a new one, but now I'm getting terrible service. My 2.4hz channel is only giving me 1-10mbps when it used to be around 60, and my 5.0hz channel is only giving me around 60-80mbps when it was upwards of 250 prior. Hello- Every since 7/24, most of my "smart" devices are not online and I can't figure it out. My wifi is otherwise fine- my phone/computer/tv etc are all working fine. But my smart home devices are all offline and I can't get them back. I think they are mostly if not all 2.4ghz devices. And most of them do that thing where you have to choose the name of the device from your wifi list (on your phone) then connect to that network, then once connected, choose your regular wifi network to complete the connection. (sorry if I'm not explaining that well- hope you know what I mean!). So for most of them, I can find the device network in my wifi list and connect to it, but then when I need to find my actual wifi, it's just not there. The neighbors' networks and several other show up, just not mine. Despite the fact that many other devices are actively using that network without problem. I have reset the entire gateway several times. I have rebooted the devices in question. I tried splitting the 5 and 2.4gh bands. Tried entering the SSID manually when I can't see it in the list. None of these things helped. This is not a new router and I had not changed any settings. Everything was working just fine, and then suddenly I noticed one thing wouldn't connect. I thought it was the device. Then realized my thermostats, printer, smart outlets, etc were also all offline, so it's definitely not the specific devices. I swapped out my one year old modem for a new one, and they gave me a panoramic modem. Now, my landline stopped working and my internet intermittently goes in and out every few minutes. Sometimes I have to reboot the system to get it to connect again. As for as my phone, it hasn't worked since. I've has 3 chat sessions with Cox. Hello: I have had COX Gigawhatever internet for 6 years without 1 issue. On Jube 14, 2024 COX did some neighborhood maintenance with 9 hours of no service. Since coming back online I have outages every 1 to 2 hours for 7 to 10 minutes. The modem connection lights remain normal, all my devices show full WiFi signal and hard wired devices are interrupted too. The connection resumes on its own after 10ish minutes or if I reset the modem. A COX technician came out and said this was a COX problem, not a modemn problem because some neighbors were having the same issue which started at the same time. Internet issue
Hi there, so i have somthing called a mecool and it is like a streaming device. Everytime i try to connect it to the internet, it says “sign in to the network” when ive already put in my password and such. When i click on “sign in to the network” it says to resume access to the internet on your jome network, open the “cox panoramic” app. Upon doing that, when i opened app, it didnt even show my this as a device and so forth will not allow me to continue using it. It has taken me two weeks to get to where I can post a question to the forum, all because the forum software did not like my email address, which had a hyphen in the username and another hyphen in the domain name. No error message, it just failed to send the email to validate that the email address was a working address. To further aggravate the matter, Cox technical support (basic level) insisted that this was a non-problem. "If you think that the software may not like your email address, just use a different one. Like gmail." I am posting this here in the hope that Cox will FIX the problem. My wife received a call regarding upgrading our location to Fiber and wasn't available at the time to speak to anyone. I called in and the voice recording comes over and says that we are eligible for a free upgrade to fiber. After waiting on hold for 25 minutes, I'm told to upgrade we have to pay a fee to have the fiber professionally connected. This doesn't seem very free to me. The only solution provided to me is to call back and talk to someone in Technical Support. Cox has outage in my area for the past 30 hours and is still going on. Just telling us they are still working on it is not good enough! At least can you please let people know what caused the problem and what progress you’ve made in a 30 hours nonstop overnight (according to you) work to fix it!!! Just curious if anyone ever gets compensated for the near-constant outages. This current outage has lasted over 13 hours and still going strong. Not to mention the outage on June 13th. Or June 26th. Or July 2nd. Or July 3rd. Or July 15th. You get the picture. The most I ever get is a "voucher" in case I get an overage on my data, which would be fine and dandy if I didnt pay for unlimited data. Let's be clear, Cox terminating their email service and shoving us all over to Yahoo email is NOT Cox providing us better service. Cox is not providing anything in terms of email service. Instead, Cox is providing their internet customers significantly less service by terminating Cox email. Yahoo email has always been free. Now we are subjected to Yahoo's push to pay for their Yahoo Plus service. Cox has NOT reduced our monthly costs for internet access even though they have terminated this service and no doubt have significantly reduced their own operating costs. Now that we are receiving less, why is Cox still charging us full price for Internet access? I’m paying cox $200 a month for Wi-Fi that works maybe half the time? Had technicians out here three different times with next to no changes. Upgraded my modem twice bought new cables and nothing. Any time I call the only thing you guys suggest is sending a tech out and the techs tell me every time that there’s lots of tickets for work on our building that has never been touched except for when I’ve called (over 200 times in this span). The Wi-Fi shuts off constantly every day and every night it goes off for hours at a time with no explanation. On top of all that when the Wi-Fi actually works and runs within 400mbs of what I’m actually paying for there’s a daily service outage it seems. So I can’t use the Wi-Fi regularly and when I get the chance to you guys have issues on your end. I would not like a comment about “message us on twitter or send an email and schedule an appointment” ive done it more than I should’ve had to considering the amount you receive from me. Everyone has called due to outages. At least in Vegas over the last 2 months. The last CSR I spoke to before Tanisha shall remain nameless. TANISHA from Virginia whose supervisor, Sam, needs to call out this KUDO in a group chat. Not only was she friendly, personable, outgoing, but took care of ALL my issues, even through her own system going down. She kept apologizing for how long it was taking, but she "read the room" and actually held a conversation with me instead of puting me on multiple "3 to 5 minute hold(s)". She persevered, not wanting to lose all the work she had done, but not wanting to make me need to call back AGAIN. Not only was she a great conversationalist but she was funny and upbeat. I have worked in the Customer Service industry for over 10 years at my current job. Holding several positions; Quality, Coach, Agent, Escalations, just to name a few. Service down Again!
This is starting to get a bit frustrating. The service in general internet/cable has been really inconsistent, in the Centreville 20121 area, it wasn't too long ago, that Cox sent out some email of a planned outage for upgrades to better, reliable service. You all may want to check on what you did, as the intent has had the opposite impact. Internet has been out 6 days
Our internet has been out for 6 days. App says there is an interruption they are trying to repair. We have talked to a representative and they can only tell us sorry, but we are still working on the issue. 100 people are in the same boat! It’s getting ridiculous! We can’t run our security cameras and have to use our phone as a hot spot which is very slow. My husband has to work from home in these conditions. We will be contacting other providers. Cox customer for about 7 years now.. theres been maintenance occasional outages last year up until a fortnight ago was almost no interruptions. In the last 10 days my internet has been out at least once a day often for over 2 hours. Right now Friday 7/19 @9:22 am it has been down since 7pm last night and trust me I checked several times during the hours most people are asleep. Someone in this household works from home, internet connection is required as well as for those that may want to use the service we pay for to play video games or watch YouTube videos or even watch TV which is down atm also. Everyday since the SRP power when out for few minutes last Thursday on 7/11/24. Every single day at 850pm we have internet outage for 10-30 mins. Hi - I have a GIG and it’s good speed. I check ‘Internet Speed Test’ and it comes out very fast. When I do this same test on my work laptop, since I work remote from home, the speed test doesn't have the same juice. I noticed the server is in New York when I’m logged into my work server - where as the one I do from home the server is in Las Vegas. This is seriously ridiculous. Almost every week we are having these 'interruptions' in our service in our area. This has been going for several months now. And it's been happening more and more frequently. We pay good money for internet service. I work from home and I cannot work if there is no internet. It's been off all day today. It was like that 2 weeks ago and the week before that. And it randomly drops off throughout the day. We should not have to continue to pay for service we are not receiving. This is not normal! It is costing me and my family money when I cannot work but we have to pay you even when you aren't working. I have a message in my new Yahoo Inbox that I can neither select nor delete. There is a strange icon in place of the selection box that prevents me from selecting the message: If I clink on the message, I get a warning from Malwarebytes not to proceed. I have tried moving all Inbox messages to a temp folder and then individually selecting only the messages I want to keep before moving them back to the Inbox, but this rogue message still returns. Nonstop connection issues for over a week now. I have tried multiple times to contact support & no one has came through. I pay over $100 a month for the high speed internet for a 1 bedroom, there is absolutely no reason my internet should have any issues. Ive also tried to change my plan because Cox changed it from $45 to $75 to now $105 in the past 3 years & again, no one can help me. This is ridiculous. I do college from home & I can’t do anything. Is anyone else in the Sun Valley, Idaho area having issues with dropped connections besides us? We have had great service from Cox for many years, but random connection drops have been occuring frequently in past few weeks. Before then I would occasionally get "unstable internet" messages when on Zoom, but now it just freezes and drops. I have updated the firmware on my Nighthawk router, which is only a year old and Cox replaced my modem today. I am still having the same issue afterward, however. Over a week since we’ve had reliable internet service. Is everyone at cox on vacation?
