Gigablast speed keeps dropping to 25-30MB`
Hello - about 6-8 months ago I signed up for Gigablast. It worked great. My speed wasn't ever close to a gigabyte, typically between 200-400mb. In the past week it keeps dropping to 20-40mb. If I reboot my modem it goes back to 200-400mb, for a very short while, then drops back down to 20-40mb. I don’t know what to do. I have an Arris SB8200 and a TP-Link Deco AXE-5300. Both are less than six months old. HELP PLEASE???AzHombre5 months agoNew Contributor108Views1like3Comments- PhillipDunham5 months agoNew Contributor53Views0likes1Comment

Greetings forum-goers, happy Sunday! I've been contemplating a question that's perhaps unusual considering that the vast majority of Cox customers wish to retain their email access. I'd rather close out these accounts and be done with them. Practically zero accounts are linked in any way to these Cox addresses. I personally manage over a dozen different email boxes for myself, and it's overwhelming to maintain. So what's the easiest way to close out and delete these email accounts in the midst of transition? Would it be enough to never log in to Yahoo!? Would Cox's transition offer expire and delete the emails for good? Surely there must be an implicit deadline to move off Cox before we lose 'em for sure. I'd just prefer to do this intentionally. So long, and thanks for all the fish!Anesti335 months agoContributor65Views0likes1CommentYahoo says, "Sorry, we don't recognize this email."

I've been trying to move my payment date as I have hit some rough times (blown car transmission) and my bill will be paid late. I have had a terrible experience regarding trying to get a technician to my house to fix my homelife hub. I called on 5/18 to get technical help because my homelife hub would not connect to anything. After going through all the procedures, the customer service person stated she needed to send a person out to replace the hub and set an appointment for 5/19 between 3p and 5p. I had a lot to do on 5/19 because it was a Sunday, but made sure I was back at my house for the technician. At 2:50, I received a text to state my appointment was changed to 5/21 between 8a and 10a. A technician then called and I asked why the appointment was rescheduled with no notice. He stated they are a third party company that does Cox work, but they do not work with the homelife products. He stated that the Tuesday appointment will be a person that works with the homelife products. I was upset, but dealt with the inconvenience. On Tuesday, 5/21, a technician showed up and stated he was with the same third party company and he does not work with the homelife products. Then I received a text stating the appointment was changed to 5/23 between 8a and 10a. I called customer support and stated I was not happy because this will be the third appointment. They assured me that the technician that will come on Thursday will be a Cox employee and not from the third party and he will know about the homelife product. On Thursday, 5/23, I received a text that the appointment was changed to 10a to 12p and I received a voicemail at 10:12a stating there were a lot of call offs and they had to find a technician in the area that could make it to my appointment. They stated they found a person, but he could only be there between 10a and 12p, but he should be there in 15 minutes. At 11a, a technician arrived and stated he did not work with the homelife product. He said he would try to find someone in the area that can help him get a hub so he can try to work on it, but since he did not work on homelife products, he did not have anything. This is where we are now. 4 appointments and it still is not fixed. I have a day job and work 8a-5p so I have to take off work which costs me money or arrange to have someone there for three technician. What does it take for Cox to take care of their own products? I've had COX for about half a year and right off the bat I gotta say it was way too overpriced. But the price is not even the real issue. So Cox has responded to my question about a reduction in internet service cost after eliminating email service. Cox said that email service was free.....customers never viewed it that way. Good evening everyone. I currently have a Netgear C1000v2 on a 1GB plan. My current WiFi speeds are 465.2/115.5 according to Cox's Speed Test website. This is on both WiFi *and* Wired Connection directly in to the modem for testing. I was having some speed issues the last few months and finally "chatted" with the sales guy at Tech Support. He started telling me that my modem is old and the only way for me to get their truly advertised speeds is to upgrade to the Panoramic WiFi, which we all know is incorrect. The Tech Support Sales Guy also told me that they can't understand why I am not even getting 500MB on my 1GB plan, as it is 100% definitely a problem with my equipment. Even though they can't send any warm or cold hits to my modem from the Head-End, or communicate with it, but upgrading to the 2GB plan will solve all my problems. So here's my question. Before the tech got here, I went and purchased an Arris S33 just in case. However, after him finding a bad ground block in the OPB, he said everything looked good and reverted back to my Netgear and stated it is running fine. My question is this. I noticed some differences in the configuration screens of both modems, so I was curious if anyone knew what benefit I would get by actually keeping the S33 and staying on the 1GB plan (for now), and if I do decide to upgrade, what benefit one would give me over the other. Config screen(s) from the Netgear C1000v2: Upstream Channels: Now, config of the Arris S33: And the Upstream Channels: I notice the S33 has more Downstream and Upstream channels, but don't know if that really means anything to the standard, regular daily usage. The tech also had the problem today of not being able to do anything from the Head-End with the modem before he replaced the problem. Once he did that, he was then able to send warm and cold hits to the modem no problem according to him. My girlfriend and I both work from home and are in IT. She is on Zoom / Teams calls quite a bit, and I am on Teams calls a bit and VPN (sometimes numerous VPN's) 100% of my day. I see lots of posted problems with this email transition problem and I wrestled with it for a couple days. I had no problem setting moving Cox-->Yahoo and getting email on the Yahoo website but I wanted to use my desktop Outlook program as I always have. Trying to just change the incoming and outgoing servers in Outlook wasn't working - just gave an unhelpful failure response. Maybe this could work easily if you use the "trick" I mention below. This morning I called Cox support, was on hold for ~15min before reaching a quite helpful woman who almost succeeded. Key things from her: in Outlook: File-->account settings-->account settings-->remove existing account (this will "re-populate" from your working Yahoo account when your done), account settings-->new enter your email address (the one you just deleted) and a password. She said to use the Yahoo email PW which doesn't seem to make sense since you haven't pointed to the Yahoo server yet. But after the next error message you get to enter the server information (as widely disseminated this is imap.mail.yahoo.com and smtp.mail.yahoo.com). We tried this many times (including reboots) but it never worked. Always got the error message. She kicked me "up" to a guy who knew less but told me to go to Yahoo support and gave me a phone #. Yahoo answered immediately, went into remote control of my computer and did the same steps but with one difference: they used a password generated for my Outlook by Yahoo. (This is commonly discussed in support forums and I'd already made one but hadn't used it here.) Anyway he deleted mine, made a new one, and used that PW when connecting to imap.mail.yahoo.com and smtp.mail.yahoo.com. That worked, that was the difference. If my first Cox support person had realized this we'd have saved a couple hours.hansenaz5 months agoNew Contributor115Views1like2CommentsDon't expect to actually speak to a manager if you request it or record information properly.

As a business owner that has to wait on his checks to come in the mail after completing a job you would think there would be an understanding that due to mail delivery delays you can't guarantee dates it will arrive but still trying I offered to pay over half of past due balance immediately if they could just postpone a week for my checks to have time to arrive and they refused respectfully as a business owner not being willing to work with your customers or even allow them to speak with a manager when requested is just bad business.vincehall19875 months agoNew Contributor67Views0likes1Comment
