No internet for 8 days now.

We have not had internet for 8 days.  I have called and can only get the answer of they are aware there is an issue.  No one will come out.  Thinking of canceling service and trying to start new service just to get someone to come out to my home.  Thoughts?

When it comes to outages we cannot schedule techs as this issue is happening in your area, not necessarily at your home. Outages are never any fun and we will always work to resolve them as quickly as possible.
