Understanding Router's Error Log
I'm a Cox customer in Wichita, KS and am using a SB6850 Router. Here's the error log for the about last week: I've read that some of these errors aren't serious but am concerned about the "T-3" errors. Do the "T-3" errors indicate that my internet service is being interrupted?1.7KViews0likes3CommentsConnection Issues
I have been having chronic network issues for over 4 months now. At first I thought that my issues were purely due to the fact that I was experiencing issues when running my PC off of a wifi extender, but after setting up a new hard wire connection to my computer, I have been experiencing the same behavior that I had been seeing before. Also, my issues have not been limited to my computer. When connecting to my wifi network on my phone or TV I experience the same behaviors that I do when being connected via ethernet. I now keep my network graph constantly open on one of my monitors so that I can take a screenshot of it whenever I experience issues. Since October 7 of this year I have over 240 screenshots with each showing the same behavior. I will be operating like normal and then I will experience a sudden loss of network quality to the point of not being able to load basic web pages. There are hardly every any noticeable symptoms that can show that I am about to lose connection, most graphs are healthy for whatever operation I happen to be performing at the time whether that be video streaming, downloading, or playing online video games. The constant issues have becoming an increasingly annoying detriment to my daily routine and have even prevented me from being able to play most online games out of fear that I will be kicked from the match to a loss of connection and will face penalties for perceived poor teamwork.3.3KViews0likes5CommentsInternet disconnection
Hi, my internet recently started to disconnect many times, especially when I was playing Dota2. The wifi was also unavailable when the router disconnected. So I went to Cox store and exchanged my router and reinstalled the Windows on my desktop. But nothing changed. I got disconnected yesterday while playing Dota2. Hello, I have the "Ultimate" Internet tier and over the last few days, my service has been atrociously bad. There are times when I get close to the speeds I am paying for and other times not even close. I was wondering if my power levels on my modem were in-spec? I have been having multiple connection timeouts while using my service, usually happening every 5 minutes. I can't enjoy my online gaming for more than that time without being disconnected from the servers. I have tried everything from unplugging the modem for a few minutes then plugging it back in, having the modem's power go directly into the power outlet, replacing the rental modem that I was using with a newer and faster one, being directly hardwired into the modem and not using the router, changing DNS servers, and flushing the DNS. Cox even sent a "technician", though he was only contracted, to my home to check my wires. He said everything looked fine. Yet the problem persists. This problem has been going on for more than year now and I'm extremely frustrated and just lost on what else to do. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.Solved2.5KViews0likes5CommentsRE: Outgoing SMTP Issues Suddenly occurring
The link above is not the correct one. The issue is a false problem that appears on android phones. First, try to send an email to yourself from cox.net. If that does work, ignore the "Can't log in" repeated error message. OK, so how do I attach this to your thread, there is no link?? Forum: Internet Forum Posted: 16 Aug 2016 Post Subject: RE: Outgoing SMTP Issues Suddenly occurring Post author: ChrisL @GrowlerGuy For starters, are you able to send via our webmail? If that works I suggest removing and re-adding your client device SMTP setting as per the following article and see if that works: http://www.cox.com/residential/support/internet/article.cox?articleId=334d7950-31f8-11df-fe42-0000000000000Views0likes0CommentsInternet nearly unusable
A few months back, our internet would stop working every now and again. No big deal, just reset the modem. Didn't give it much thought. But then "every now and again" became weekly. Then daily. Now we're lucky if the internet sticks around for a solid hour without requiring the modem to be reset. We tried to watch the new Amy Schumer special on Netflix, and our internet pooped out three times during one 50 minute special. The problem affects all of our devices - PC, smart TV, smart phones. And the modem, which I have come to hate, continues to have all its lights solidly on, as if it has no idea there's a problem. Our phones don't, either. They think they have Internet but they don't, so they don't even switch over to Sprint LTE. All the connections seem fine to me (but what do I know?), nothing seems like it's overheating... The modem's less than a year old, it should still have some vigor left in it. I got on cox.com and reset the modem from there, too. Didn't work. I don't know what's going on... Can anyone help me?1.4KViews0likes3CommentsErratic Internet Service with slow speeds
Been experiencing problems with this Cox Premier Internet using a DN4500B. I connect my MBP wirelessly. The speed testresults are 82.76Mbps DL and 17.13Mbps UL. Many times I have to reset either the modem and/or my MBP. My TV is wired and outages are experienced that may last anywhere from a second to a few seconds. Please advise.1.2KViews0likes1Comment!!!!---Constant Internet Speed Issues---!!!!
Since I have had Cox I have had constant connectivity issues. Our modem has been upgraded to the Netgear N450 CG3000Dv2 to assist with our previous connectivity issues. We were running at 15 Megs on our previous plan and had constant speed of 8 Megs MAX. I just upgraded our internet to 50 Megs and we are lucky to get 2 Megs of download speed on a good day. We are paying almost 2x the prior cost for a slower speed. I checked our modem compatibility and it states the hardware can process up to 150 Megs of download speed. I have hard RESET the modem and RESET the connection on the online tool multiple times now. I understand Cox to be more reliable than other internet providers. Their customer service is extremely friendly, but unfortunately I have not been able to have any of these issues resolved. I have our most recent speed test provided below. Of which, I see it doesn't show up. Basically, it details we are running at 1.66 Megs on download and 2 Megs on upload. Our upload speed is faster than the download! Any advise or information would be greatly appreciated.2.2KViews0likes1Commentslow internet speed and no access often between 7pm to 9pm
I have a reoccurring problem, slow internet speed and no interne access often between 7pm to 9pm. This also happens at a few other times at random, but almost daily at night. Does happen with devices connected over Wi-Fi and devices connected by LAN cable.1.5KViews0likes2Comments
