Chronic internet service drops
My internet has been dropping constantly for a few weeks. Techs came out two separate occasions only to say, "everything looks good on our end." They switched a modem just in case, but the problem persists. I took the advice of the techs and replaced my 12 month old router with a Asus RT-AX88U Pro which is way too much for my needs and I replaced their modem with a Coda56 modem, guess what. More of the exact same! I am so angry I work from home and every drop off costs me a disconnected phone call and a minute to reconnect, only for a drop to happen seconds later. We live in Fountain Hills, AZ. Our apartment complex has Cox as their preferred WiFi provider, and with not many options to choose from anyway, that’s what we went with. TELL ME WHY THIS HAS BEEN THE WORST WIFI I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED!! We’ve lived here almost a year and have consistently had connection issues. I work from home, and instead of being able to use the internet we pay $100 a month for, I’m having to use up my phone hotspot JUST TO BE ABLE TO WORK!! I’m sorry, but this is getting out right ridiculous. If the connection is never going to be available, what am I paying this much for???? My parents also live in Fountain Hills and rarely have any issues; being 5 min down the road from my apartment how is that even possible?? This needs fixed, like yesterday. Internet drops intermittenly
This started on Thursday, October 26, 2023. The internet will drop intermittenly and then come back. This is very disruptive for working from home which I do 100% of the time. ok so i have an Arris SB8200 just got it a few months ago. Usually my download and upload lights are blue. as of yesterday they started showing green. and now my internet drops for a minute or so and comes back. the blue light comes back on for the download but doesnt stay long. when it goes from blue to green i loose internet. i drop my internet for a couple minutes and then it hangs around for 5 or ten minutes before going out again. ive already talked to tech support and they said it all looks good at their end. my wife and i both work from home and we cant get anything done. I'm disgusted and ready to move away from Cox because I constantly need to click "Refresh" to stay online. I'm wired but my wife uses wifi. She doesn't seem to have the problem. Sometimes I restart my browser and it comes back up. Sometimes I need to restart my computer and it comes back up. And I'm sure it may be my laptop connection. But nothing tells me what the issue is. I have an Iogear adapter with a USB-C connection. I wish the connection was an Ethernet cable, because they don't have this USB-C connection type perfected yet. I've had to replace many adapters and cables on other laptops. My guess is that Cox cuts the connection if there is inactivity for random amounts of time. Hello, After days of communication with the support team at Riot Games, we have come to the conclusion that it is just my personal internet connection that will not allow me to connect to their game servers. Hello, ever since upgrading our modem and router through Cox about a month ago, every night the internet briefly goes out then comes back on at around the same time (approx 7:30pm cst). It goes out for both the 1 ethernet user and the 1 wifi user. It comes back on within a few minutes, but it disconnects streams and games for both of the 2 users. When it isn't disconnecting, the internet speed is fine. I reset the modem through this website and manually, but I'm at my wit's end. We spent a lot of money to get better hardware with Cox but it's now interfering with streaming which is a source of income here. Hello, I was targeted through out the weekend by a DoS attack and had other services attacked like my Linode VPS I have access too. So far I have resolved the Linode stuff as it was taken from me without permission by someone from Singapore, I have had multiple IP addresses from Singapore and around the world in other sketchy countries hitting my IP, I have tried resetting the modem in the hopes of getting a new external address but it doesn't provide me one. Is there anyone at Cox who can change my external address or expire the lease on the current address I have, I have talked to L1 support and they refused to get me to L2 without a valid reason (I would say this qualifies). Earlier this year, I upgraded my Cox service to include telephone and was issued an Arris TM3402A modem. Every time I use my printer, whether to print, scan, or copy, the modem loses its internet connection. The printer was originally connected wirelessly, so I disabled the wifi connection and connected it directly to a computer, but that didn't solve the issue. I recently got a new printer, but the problem continues. I reboot the modem and everything is fine until the printer powers up. Does anyone have a similar issue?
