First, swapping a router isn't tech support. It's just a luck-of-the-draw...or swaptronics. You're returning a scribbled-in schoolbook in hopes the teacher will issue you a less scribbled-in one. Panoramic has its limitation because it doesn't allow you tweak fundamental settings to optimize your wireless environment. Is it true there is no QoS in Panoramic? What choices of channel width do you get with Panoramic? Why isn't Panoramic compatible with older devices?
I don't think you understand protocols. All current versions...HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet, UHD...are backward compatible with previous versions. In particular, an ac-router is backward compatible with a g-device as well as an ac-device is backward compatible with a g-router. However, in Panoland, there is some law banning this compatibility. If you bought a regular ac-router, it'd connect your Dells.
