Good morning. 

I am currently exploring options here in regards to both my parents Cox Account and my account. 

What we are trying to do right is we are trying to figure out if theirs is a way to have so when we   Add on my landline to my parents account, we have been running into issues where Cox would not update the number so it shows up my name as the caller id whenever I call someone, instead what they would do is they would put the caller id as the primary holder on the account. And we are wanting to also disable the TV caller id on their phone line so I’m the only one that can use tv caller id on line. If anyone can help me out here and guide me in the right direction. It would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi Zach, 

    If you are not listed on the account yet we will need to have your Dad(account holder) contact us. This can be through email or he can call in. Once verified then he can request that you be added to the account as an authorized user. Then we can assist you directly in updating the caller ID name to your name.

    To change the caller ID name to your name. Your name must be listed on the account as the account holder or an authorized user. the primary account holder can add you as the Authorized user if needed then we can help update the CID name. Please email us so we can assist with updating the Caller ID name. our email address is cox.help@cox.com please include your name full street address and a link to your forum post..

      Ok I will do that then. Now when I do this. Would I put my dad’s name as the primary account holder when I email the information?

      And then I’m assuming I can maybe easily just have them change it over the phone if we decide to do it that way
