Internet has been down for 6 consecutive days in my area. Why?
I work online. Having these disruptions without prior notifications is causing monetary problems for me. If I had advance knowledge of Cox working on their outdated equipment, I could make arrangements. Now, because of this, I have been out on notice. I have to tether my mobile to my laptop, which in turn has used ALL my data. So I can't teach (losing money) put on notice for not showing up to teach (potentially about to be fired) and now I can't Lyft because I have no more data (definitely lost money) and I got a crappy $6 compensation from Cox. I'd like to know how Cox is going to fix all of these issues that only Cox has created. Meanwhile you expect me to pay my bill...73Views0likes1CommentNo internet for 5 days or the connection goes in and out
No one seems to be able to assist. I have tried through the web and the app with resets. I went and bought and picked up new things including their modem, talked to 10 different agents who use the same troubleshooting and telling me to do the same steps I’ve already done. Telling me everything looks fine on their end. What’s funny but not funny about that is, I then received a text from them separately saying there’s an outage in my area. Next was: Cox: Thanks for signing up to receive outage text updates. We're working on it, and expect you to be reconnected by 05:01AM. We'll continue to send updates as they're available. Next was: Cox: The outage in your area is resolved. We'll continue to closely monitor our network. Please let us know if your services are working. Reply "YES" if your service is up and running. Reply "NO" or "Unsure" if you're still having an issue. I say no. Then:We're sorry to see you're having trouble connecting. Please visit https://cox.com/smarthelp to troubleshoot the issue and get back up and running. Then:Cox: Your reset was unsuccessful. Try unplugging the power & plugging it back in. This can take up to 10 min. Then:Cox: It's been 3 days since the outage in your area was resolved, and we're checking to make sure your service is still running smoothly. Reply "YES" if you can connect without issues. Reply "NO" or "Unsure" if you’re still having trouble. I say NO again. Then: We're sorry to see you're having trouble connecting. Please visit https://cox.com/smarthelp to troubleshoot the issue and get back up and running. Now I’m highly annoyed because all these days have passed. I decide to txt AGENT for the 10th and final time. Same troubleshooting steps I already told them I’m tired of doing. Cox: Verify the Coax Cable is Connected into the Cable Port on the Box. Verify Coax Cable is connected to the wall outlet. Ensure all connections between the wall and the equipment are not loose or damaged. Me:I’ve reset, unplugged, plugged back, reset again, unscrewed cords, screwed them back in.It can’t be the modem, router, coax cords, Ethernet cords, power cords, nothing. I got all new stuff yesterday and a new modem from cox 3 days ago.My WiFi worked for 45 minutes today and then gone.I’ve troubleshoot everything, check cords, got a new modem, new router, etc.I’ve been without internet for 5 days.I’ve talked to ten agents. Then I was told there’s an outage in my area AFTER being told there wasn’t Then I’m told-Thank you so much for this confirmation, there are no outages reported in your area at this moment, in this case please allow me to reboot your device in order to clean up your line for any cache or excess of data and check the status of your modem, if the steps we follow don't fix the issue we will schedule a tech visit. 😑 did it, still nope. Next was:Thank you so much for following these steps with me today. I know how important it is for you to get everything working again, it seems like a tech visit needs to be done in order to sort this out for you, the visit would have a $75 potential charge (if the cause of the issue is Cox's responsibility charge won't be applied) I’m like at this point, y’all should’ve came out to the residents affected that are still having troubles because why would they lie 😑😑😑 Anybody else encounter this mess?2.7KViews2likes8CommentsInternet outage multiple days without any support
Not sure how or why a company would be out of service for over 4 days and no one has a response other than planned upgrades in the area. How do we get status updates other than form responses of planned upgrades are taking place, since I get this daily now for 4 days without resolution.182Views0likes1CommentIssues with outages.
About 72 hrs ago, we were getting nonstop texts about outages being reported, and then resolved. However during that time, and currently, we have not been able to get our internet working. We have the new Panoramic Wifi Gateway router/modem, provided by Cox. It’s has been doing nothing but blinking orange, then blinking green in a continuous cycle. We’ve unplugged it, reset it, every troubleshooting method out there to no solution We’ve talked toCox (phone and live chat) they argue with us saying there is no outage, sent signals etc, only for them to get off the phone and we get a new text saying there is an outage in our local area. This has continued for 72 hrs. They refuse to acknowledge an outage, only to have us tied to the phone for an hour of “troubleshooting.” The earliest technician appointment is 4 days from now. Anyone dealt with similar and have an idea what to do short of going into the store, which we’re planning on doing next.281Views0likes4Comments3rd outage today, what is going on with Cox in Phoenix??
For about 8 years (2013 - 2022ish), COX was rock solid. Then forthe lastyear, there are outages several times a week. And today we've had 3 outages in about 4 hours! There's no information on what the cause is. I tried contacting Cox support (online chat) and actually had the live agent disconnect the chat on me! I wasn't being mean or disrespectful at all, I simplyaskedwhy these outages keep happening and what Cox is doing to fix the issue(s) permanently. That's when they hung up. Anyone else having similar issues? Any insight into what's going on in Phoenix? NOTE: before anyone asks, this is NOT my hardware, trust me.767Views0likes3CommentsContinued Network outage starting March 17th
There have been nightly outages starting at 12:00am and lasting anywhere from 4 to 8 hours. Support has no information about the outages until after the outages end. They can not tell me if there will be more or how long. I just have to wait until the outage starts. Being that I work a night shift from 11:00pm until 7:00am this has been very disruptive. I can not understand why the two divisions can not work together. Everything seems to be a big secret within Cox.2.1KViews0likes8CommentsGoing on 7 days of Internet Outage
We've been without internet now for 7 days because of an outage and Cox will not provide any indication whatsoever on when service will be restored. Everyday, same message on the page and text:" Our technicians continue to work to resolve the problem in your neighborhood. Currently there is no estimated time for when service will be restored." SEVEN DAYS! We are on a stay at home order from the Governor, so all my work and my children's classes are online. This is the worst experience ever! I've been working of the hot spot on my cell phone just to be able to work and now we've exhausted our data plan and have to pay and extra $300 this month in extra data charges from our wireless carrier. I've called support, done the interactive chat, called technical support, billing and anyone else that will answer or respond and nobody can give me an answer on when we will get our Internet service restored. Beyond frustrating. Does anyone here have a management contact at Cox that can escalate this to resolution? this is completely unacceptable.392Views0likes0CommentsEscalation needed; why all the unplanned outages??
I've been a Cox customer since 2005. Since then my service has gotten better speeds and from 2012 on, I usually paid for the top tiers as I am a heavy internet user and work from home. Now I am paying nearly 60 bucks more a month for the same service Ive had for years. That was annoying but I sucked it up. There are other options for me but cox has done well by me for the most part so Ive stayed loyal. Now as of this month nearly 15 of the last 30 days I have had complete Cox outages in my area. These outages are never announced or explained. I have to log on to my account via my terrible cell service to see that there is an outage in my area. Every time. I need to know why. I need to know how long i can expect this abysmal service. I need consistent internet to work. I need prior notice to downtime. I need answers! This is such bad customer service I cannot even begin to explain thoroughly. I really really don't want to switch but att just updated hardware around me and are offering a comparable service. Do I need to go with them? I'm beyond frustrated and exhausted from having to pick up my work late at night bc the internet is finalky back up! Help!!1.2KViews0likes2Comments
