Cox Email Discontinuation
I visited a Cox retail store in Metairie, LA within the last week for some account maintenance. During the visit the Cox rep informed me that in the near future, i.e., sometime in February 2022, that Cox will be discontinuing email service to all existing cox.net addresses. She said there have been multiple notices of the impending shut down. This same information was reiterated by a different rep on a subsequent visit. In reviewing my cox email accounts I have found no notice of a looming shutdown and can't find any notice on the Cox website. I am aware that new accounts cannot be created but can find nothing indicating that existing accounts will be terminated in the near future. Has anyone else heard anything regarding the discontinuation of existing Cox email accounts? If so, can you point me to additional information? Thanks.8.7KViews0likes1CommentPanoramic Wifi App Not Working
Hello, I just moved to a new house. I exchanged my old modem for a new one today, in-store. Previously, I was able to access my network and manage my passwords, who was using my wifi, etc. Once I was done setting up the modem and my wifi was working on my phone and laptop, I went onto the Cox Panoramic Wifi App to check if I could change my name and password. Sure enough, the app said my router was offline and I couldn't access any tabs. I contacted (2) agents of Cox and no one was able to help me resolve this issue. I would like to be able to manage my network on my phone, like I use to. If anyone could help me, that would be great. Please..5.6KViews0likes7CommentsMy Data Usage bug
We consistently average around 30 GBs per day, but got notified this morning (21 days into the billing cycle) that we are almost 250 GBs over for the month. After checking My Data Usage, it shows that the average for the first 20 days is consistent, but yesterday (10/03/2020) was 1,090 GBs just for that one day!!! We were outside almost all day, and didn't stream or download any more than a typical day. There is clearly a bug w/ Cox's data usage tracking. See below for images of our daily usage as reported by Cox. Is anyone seeing anything similar? I've already been on chat w/ two level 1 support reps. The first one, "Shireida J.", had no clue what I was talking about, said she would create me a ticket, but after about 20 minutes transferred me to another level 1 support rep (without even telling me). The second one, "Miah D.", verified that a ticket had not been created and had no idea why I was transferred. Hello , I've been getting random lag spikes for some quite time when I play on xbox and pc. Recently I upgraded my service to gigablast. But it still does it , I've been doing speed test when theres no issues and when I get spikes. I get around 560mb download & 3mb upload on a good moment. 190mb - 300mb & 0.5mb upload when I get spiked. Also my router just loses internet at random times . I have a couple people connected on my router but they mostly watch videos or go on social media. Just mostly affects me whenever I play games. Don't know if I need things to be checked out or what.4KViews0likes3CommentsSOON TO BE 2021 ... AND THE COX WEB-MAIL "SPAM BOMBARDMENT" STILL CONTINUES
https://ibb.co/gFPnY57 The infestation that's getting through Cox mail servers has got so bad that it's outright inexcusable, and I dread every moment when it comes time to check my email. In many ways it seems like Cox is a magnet for attracting not just spam, but other exploits, such as spoofing, phishing and pharming. Stuff that cyber-criminals use to deliver malware, attract victims to malicious websites or to steal confidential and sensitive data. In all honestly, I get more garbage than legitimate messages that it's become a frustrating chore sifting through the mess it creates. Not to mention the hours I've wasted in the daunting task of creating over a hundred, non-effective, "filter rules" to weed out some of the reoccurring pests. In fact my Inbox looks no different then my Spam folder, each containing a mixture of both spam and legitimateemails (just as the image shows above). "Marking" an email as spam is a joke too, and you’re a fool in trying to utilize that option because it does absolutely nothing. Perhaps it’s because protective measures are not being implemented by the server. But even if they were, I shouldn’t be receiving the samegarbageevery single day. And just to prove I'm not exaggerating, here a "small list" of the garbage accumulated in a typical work week: SelectHomeWarranty, Gadget Junkies, Leaf Filter Discount, Sams Club reward, CVS Pharmacy Survey, AltaiBalance, Truth_Finder, Caringforaparent.com, VeteranInsuranceDiscounts, Support Center, Soft Erections, Home Solar Survey, PowerPro-PowerSaver, FreezAir Pro, UV PhoneSanitizer|SterilizerXf, Talcum-powder-lawsuit settlement.com, TalcumPowderLawsuit, Dream Home Ideas, Pest Control, Max-Performer, ProbioticEase|Special, Dear Beneficiary, eharmony Partner, Protect Your Home - ADT Premier Provider, awesomestuff2buy.com, Exclusive Tactical Flashlight, NationalConcealedAcademy, REPLY ME URGENTLY, Wheel of Fortune, FRONTLINE KN95 Facemask, Vivint.SmartHome, Gemini Trust, AAGMortgage, Premium Mattresses by Lull, BANK OF CHINA, SeniorsDiscountsClub Info, PowerPro-PowerSaver, Nutrisystem Discount, BestCarInsurance, Pure Radiance, TommyChong, BoyScoutsAbuseLawsuit.com, Anti-Virus Protection, EZBatteryReconditioning, seniorperks, Boundery eBulb, Nerve Renew Wes, RoundUp Lawsuit, Walk-in Safety Tub, GutterProtector.coPromo, SunPower Promo, Buy Mask Shield, Male Enhancement, InjurySurvey.com Info, Cannabis Gummies, DoGoodPoints, SNOWTeethWhitening, FreeFlashlight, Enlarged Prostate, PlatinumAutoWarranty, BathroomRenovationShop, USAMilitarySavings Info, RoofingSurvey, Oil Change Coupons, Diet Legends Keto Fuel, NationalConcealedAcademyTraining, Smart Living Tips, ZantacInjuryHelp.com, ShopThePersonalButcher Ad, Nutrition Tips, FundsForVictims, Crepe Erase. Not only is it enough to make your head spin, but it's an issue that's shared with thousands of other Cox customers who are equally just as frustrated. In fact this abuse has been going on way too long and it's about time that the company finally takes immediate action to combat these security issues - rather than continuing to ignore them over the years by neglecting the basic techniques for securing their systems - and thus leaving us vulnerable. Frankly, I strongly feel that we as consumers deservemore consideration than what we've been getting, as well as receiving the best protection against alloutside threats. After all, if Gmail can protect their users from spam and other exploits for free, then why can't Cox at least tryby doing the same? With that said, I'm convinced that Cox is technologically behind the eight-ball and is seriously in need of updating or adding more security layersto get back up to speed. Please weigh in if you agree. NOTE TO MODERATOR: Judging by the many posts on this particular subject during the past several years, this has been an ongoing issue that has yet to be resolved. Since this is forum open for discussion, it would be greatly appreciated that you allow more ample time for comments and/or suggestions to be heard before making the final decision of marking this thread as locked. Thank you.3.9KViews0likes11CommentsCox in Fountain Hills, AZ Help please

Back in January, (due to the holidays) I had to set up a post dated payment to prevent my services from being cut off. I did so, I MANUALLY entered my card information, double checked and set up the payment. The day the payment was charged, for some reason it was declined and returned. The first thing I did was call my bank, checked for blocks and funds and EVERYTHING WITH MY BANK WAS IN ORDER. When I saw I was charged another fee for this I called and spoke to a supervisor and was then informed AFTER he verified my which card I used, that they had a different card on file (only on their end because it did not appear on my end) I haven't had this card in years and did not even have saved anywhere on my account. I have called and chatted several times, with supervisors and regular employees, I have been hung up on twice over this, I was a assured a supervisor would call me back ASAP and still nothing. I was informed my case was passed on several times to someone who can help me. Not once have I gotten a call back or update on my case. (Above and beyond with their customer service apparently). When I finally called back, I was told it was denied again and I do not find this is not a fair practice. What is comes down to is Cox charging ME a fee for THEIR mistake (twice!) and getting away with it by giving me the run around. I have been a customer of Cox since 2007 (not 2010 like they told me!) I have spent thousands of dollars as a customer for the past 12 years, and this forum is my last attempt at giving Cox the chance to do right by a long time customer otherwise we part ways here.2KViews1like1CommentData use spike - no explanation
11 months ago I gotan email that Cox was performing service to "improve bandwidth" in the area.Within two weeks, I got a text that I was near exceeding my data use allowance - for the very first time in 3+ years (since moving into house). No change in behavior, I live alone, changed wifi password, disabled all auto updates. No solution. Cox came out, recommended their "super fantastic" panoramic router but could find no explanation why the meter showed nearly double the use. Escalated to a guy who monitored the use, spent a lot of time trying to help (this was after I reported it to the FCC, so...) and discounted the overages. After a few months (January-ish), recorded usageleveled off to normal. Fast forward to this July, the data spike is back and I was charged $50 extra in that month for data. Nothing has changed in my use, in fact I have literally started turning off wifi on all devices not actively in use andpowering them down. I feel like I am living in the stone age here, this isn't honest recording of usage and charges when I KNOW what I use and have implemented every potential solution I could get my hands on. A call to Coxrevealsthat all they can see is that it's "streaming" (which I can see for myself, thanks), but not what device. So it seemsthe super fantastic router I pay for every month is no better than the top-rated one I had before they leased me theirs as a superior solution. Anyway - if anyone has a similar experience or suggestions, I'm all ears. I've read old posts where others had the same issue but there never as a solution past change your wifi password.2KViews0likes8CommentsWhat do I do if I am being targeted by a DoS
Hello, I was targeted through out the weekend by a DoS attack and had other services attacked like my Linode VPS I have access too. So far I have resolved the Linode stuff as it was taken from me without permission by someone from Singapore, I have had multiple IP addresses from Singapore and around the world in other sketchy countries hitting my IP, I have tried resetting the modem in the hopes of getting a new external address but it doesn't provide me one. Is there anyone at Cox who can change my external address or expire the lease on the current address I have, I have talked to L1 support and they refused to get me to L2 without a valid reason (I would say this qualifies). Thanks1.8KViews0likes3CommentsWhy did Cox delete its TV guide?
On their website, Cox used to have a pretty-good guide for TV shows. I couldn’t just scroll down through all the channels, but I could easily see the TV listing by time period for my area, identify the ones that were new shows vs repeats, and get a description. (Plus you could highlight different types, but I didn’t do that.) But not for the last several days. Does anyone know why they dropped it? I’ve tried online customer support, but their staff doesn’t see any difference between a listing of channels and a listing of the actual shows.1.7KViews0likes9Comments
