Contour Cable Box Freezing Constantly
My contour cable box is constantly freezing but only does so when I have the channel guide open or when I am browsing through On-Demand shows or movies. Additionally, if I have a show or movie playing, that show or movie will suddenly "crash"...it will freeze, the screen will go blank, and then the regular TV will come back on. Is there any fix for this that can be done from home without a technician? Do I need to purchase a different box? PLEASE HELP!!!25KViews1like6CommentsXbox One Streaming Contour
I use an Xbox One as my primary means of home entertainment and streaming. I recently downgraded my service to internet only in addition to a contour streaming service (so no TV box needed). However, the Contour App only seems available to download on a phone or tablet. While these are great options, it seems like Cox is missing it's primary mission which is to allow people to stream directly to their living room TV via gaming consoles or dedicated platforms like Apple TV or Roku. Does Cox have any plans to roll out an app that will allow customers to stream Contour to gaming devices in the near future? Turn TV on and get "TEMPORARILY OFF AIR", please check back later. Been wasting my time reading about this and one message mentions parental control. That's never been enabled and is not enabled now. The mini box works fine. The scientific america cable box give the off air message for all channels too. I assume something happened to the box. Ideas???? I keep getting the error code XRE-03092 on my new Contour box when I try to watch OnDemand shows on Starz, Cinemax, HBO, Showtime, etc.! It was working fine last night when we were watching channels OnDemand. I am not sure what happened? This morning the box did reboot and cycle through a whole bunch of numbers for quite a long time. Hello: I have a Contour Xg2v2-P box in one room and a second smaller Xid-P in another room. The Xg2V2-P box works well but the XiD-P box frequently loses the signal and I need to reboot it constantly - sometime 3 or 4 times within a 1 hour time frame. I am not sure exactly how this works but I suspect that the XiD-P box is communicating wirelessly to the Xg2v2 box and that the distance is an issue? Not really sure and unable to find any articles or support on this so hoping that someone can point me in the right direction because the XiD-P box issue is so frequently dropping that it basically makes my TV useless. Hoping someone from Cox technical service is reading this and can point me into the right direction on how to resolve (or should I jet get rid of the XiD-P box and get a mini box instead so I can at least watch standard cable and news on my second TV). Our Contour cable box is not wanting to turn on. Right now it is displaying the correct the time, and it shows that it is recording a show. The remote will not turn it on, nor will pressing the power button on the front of the unit. For the past month our TBS channel (OKC channel 731) has not worked. The non-HD channel 62 works.. but HD 731 does not. We called the first time about 3 weeks ago.. and after running all of the tests they could not determine what was wrong. We were supposed to have received a call within 24-48 hours and did not. I called again a couple of days ago.. they ran more tests, had us check physical connections etc.. nothing helped. While we were waiting on the testing they were explaining the Contour and home phone bundling they were wanting us to "upgrade" to. By the end of the call, we had not signed up for the additional stuff and there was still no explanation for the missing TBS station. Now, FOX News and CNN are missing as well. Part of me feels like they went "missing" because we didn't sign up for their additional services. But I'm sure that's ridiculous. Has anyone else had this issue? Cox - if you're reading this - is there really no way we can get our channels back? I was told the channels would "definitely return" if we got the new contour box. First question: I have about 7-9 items listed under "DVR List" > "Missed Recordings" for various reasons: "Shows could not be found in Guide" and "Due to technical problems" being the most common. Any idea how to delete these Missed Recordings from being displayed? Highlighting an individual one and pressing Select does nothing; thought that might give me options. Neither does highlighting one of the missed recordings and pressing either the red "C" or green "D" buttons. I spoke to a Cox rep via phone today and she could not find a way to delete missed recordings. She send a signal thru both boxes which did not clear the problem. She did say that Contour 1 as a system is having some problems in various areas of the country. Second question: Tried recording a show which was in progress by highlighting it in Guide and pressing the red "Rec" button. The red ball appeared on the Guide but no red "recording" light was on the DVR. After the show ended, it went under "Missed Recording" as "Due to technical problems". Any idea why it would do this? Future recordings seem to come out mostly well but this show was the SECOND show today - recording an IN PROGRESS show - which went under "Missed Recording" as "Due to technical problems". Has Contour 1 been having problems with recording shows which are in progress by pressing the red "Rec" button? This happened after I had the phone call regarding question number 1 so i was not able to resolve this issue at that time. I want to go to the hd version of any channel I pick, searched thru all the menus and cannot find that option. Chatted with a service rep and he told me that is not possible to auto tune to hd. That makes no sense, what kind of garbage technology am I dealing with here?2.7KViews0likes2Comments
