Contour and Paramount+
So I saw this Thread from 4 years ago but could not reply. Why is Cox advertising Contour being able to support Paramount+ yet there is NO WAY to apply the TV code to a website activator? Reply In order to access the Paramount+ app through Cox, a subscription to Paramount+ is required. All billing for the Paramount+ app is billed through Paramount+. There are two options to sign into the Paramount+ app. If you choose “Try it free” follow the instructions on the screen. a) In a web browser, enter paramountplus.com/cox. b) Follow the website directions to create your account. c) After creating your account when the website asks you to enter your activation code, enter the activation code displayed on your TV screen. If you chose “Sign In” two options display on your screen. • If selecting On My TV, then using your Cox remote, enter your Email and Password for Paramount+, then highlight and select Sign In. To sign in, you must already have an account with Paramount+. If you do not already have an account, refer to the steps for the 30-day free trial. • If selecting On the Web, then enter paramountplus.com/cox in a web browser and enter the code now displayed on your TV screen. Follow the instructions to sign in and the TV will authorize automatically when complete. I have a XR11 v3-utu remote. I go through the setup to use the remote to work with the Samsung TV and that works. Next step is to program it to work with the Yahama receiver, and that works. BUT, then it NO LONGER works for shutting off the TV. Please help with any suggestions. Thanks.RID22 hours agoNew Contributor13Views0likes1CommentModem hardware requirements for upload speed
Creating a new post of a discussion started here. Does anyone have any insight into what the hardware or network requirements are for the different upload speeds? For example, as per here, the upload speed for the 500Mbps download tier is: ""10 Mbps, 50 Mbps, or 500 Mbps, based on the network architecture serving your physical address". What does the "network architecture" refer to? I know to get symmetric speeds you need fiber, so that would explain the 500Mbps upload, but is the difference between 10 and 50Mbps? Are they talking about having a OFDMA channel available in your area? Are they talking about mid-split? Something else? Also, what changes what upload speed you get on fiber on the 2Gbps tier? It says it can be both 1Gbps or 2Gbps upload. Is that to do with just the available bandwidth or the congestion in the area or is there a different fiber tech some areas have? Like GPON vs XGS PON? I assume it requires a ONT that has a multi-gigabit ethernet port.WiderMouthOpen24 hours agoEsteemed Contributor II37Views0likes11Commentsslow speeds since Dec.
Has anyone noticed slower internet speeds since Dec.? There was an outage in Dec. in California and since that time every other day or so my internet speed will drop considerable. Of course Cox see no problems and thinks it my modem ( surprise lol). I get the modem run around every year ( these outages always happen around Dec. ) and eventually Cox finds the problem on their end and service is restored to normal.wisdom2 days agoNew Contributor31Views0likes2CommentsArris SB6190
Hi, The SB6190 won't keep a steady high rate. I use the cox online reset and then have to hard boot the modem in order for it to get close to 500Mbps (If I don't hard boot the modem after the reset, it doesn't get any faster). The improved speed lasts between 2 hours and two days and then it drops to 30Mbps. This has been occurring for over 2 months. I have tried 2 of the same model. Have been having audio dropouts both on live broadcast and DVR playback. Mostly live broadcast. New home, fiber optic, all WiFi system. Had a tech visit 3 day ago who said it’s common with the set top boxes, not the router. Replaced the set top box and HDMI cable. Good for a couple days, but watching the KC NFL game, it’s back. It’s also on the other TV’s in bedrooms. Rebooted router, set top boxes, and system refresh on the TV set top system. (Done this 10’s of times to no avail). Back to square one. Although I’ve read on other forums that Cox’s translation of the incoming signal formats is the likely cause. However, it was also said that Comcast has the same problem. But, we just came from XFINITY land after years, and never saw this or the other problem(s) we’ve had with Cox. And, we had coax.Zderf2 days agoNew Contributor17Views0likes1CommentCall History Update
I'm now receiving all call records in the All tab made and received on or after 01/03/2025, but nothing before then. The Missed tab still displays all missed calls from on or before 12/18/2024 and on or after 01/05/2025. Since All includes calls received since 01/03/2025, it appears call records began being saved again on that date. The Missed tab includes up to 120 Days but attempts to change the All tab to more than 30 Days result in continuous buffering. Call records between 12/18/2024 and 01/03/2025 will probably never be available. A fix could possibly still be coming to include call records in the All tab from before 12/18/2024. Call records still do not display in the All tab if you have new or saved voice mail. Edit: Call records were only displayed in the All tab for a few hours. Cox apparently broke it again and it's been blank since then. Has anybody seen any improvement since the Call History outage began?CurtB2 days agoHonored Contributor232Views0likes21Comments1GIG Speed last 3-4 days and then goes down to 95MBS.

My internet upload speeds are usually 20Mbps. But around 5-10pm they "magically" seem to be dip down to less than 1Mbps before going back to normal. Even during the day my download and upload speeds seem to be fine. I've contacted support but they aren't really useful in any way shape or form since any able bodied person with a brain and reset their modem/router. I've even replaced my modem and router with new ones too. Does anyone know what the issue could be? I've also had tech support come out. But all he did was plug the wires in and it seemed to me that he tested for a proper connection? he didn't even install a new coaxial cable and i ended up getting charged an extra $75 for nothing? Maybe someone knowledgeable here can help me out? I usually have 100Mbps down and 20Mbps up with only 1 Pc wired in with 2-3 phones on wifi and 1-2 smart devices connected. The devices are never connected at the same time either. at most there's only 5 connected at a time.AsianInvasion3 days agoNew Contributor109Views0likes9Comments
