not being able to access cox wifi app or browser
I have been trying to access the cox wifi app or wifi.cox.com through the browser. I want to do this so I can access my wifi settings, Including port forwarding. This is what I get when I attempt to access the website. - Please Give Us a Call Sorry, there is a bit more we need to do to get you up and running with Panoramic Wifi. Call us at 1-800-234-3993, and we will get you squared away. To be clear, I AM able to enter my CORRECT username and password after I enter it displays this message. When I attempt to log into my account on the main cox.com website and the cox app everything works fine. I have been having this problem since I moved in last July and every time I call it's either "the website is down for support" or some other excuse. Only about two weeks ago was I told that this issue has been reported by others and it would be looked into.... two weeks ago after many months. I am tired of having to reexplain my issue with customer service which is why I'm making this post. Also worth noting is that when I look at "My account" and "manage wifi" on the main cox website it shows this - It looks like you are using a modem that is not compatible with Panoramic Wifi. Panoramic Wifi is available to customers who rent an eligible gateway.Upgrade Now. But I definitely have the router that supports cox panoramic wifi because it's the same that I had before I moved here.Technicolor CGM4141is what I have now and had before. wifi.cox.com and the cox wifi app worked prior to my move. It might be worth noting that there were issues because I had canceled my last account during my move and I don't entirely understand how it was resolved, I think maybe I have a new account number now. But I have wondered if that could be a contributing factor to these issues.2KViews0likes2CommentsIs there anyway to use panoramic wifi pods when the two bands have different SSID?
There are many older wifi devices which can not find the right band unless the 2.4 and 5 are identified with different names. The current limitation of the wifi pods to have both bands on the same name makes them useless. Is there any way to get around this. Is there any chance that COX will remove this limitation? This is very frustrating when trying to configure my smart home. I have 55 connected devices between both bands in a large home and the single panoramic gateway has weak/dead spots. Thanks in advance for any help provided.833Views0likes4CommentsHigh-pitched sound from Cox Gateway
About a month ago, I switched to Cox as my internet service provider. The Cox technician installed a Technicolor CGM4140COM Panoramic Gateway here in the office next to my computer. From the start, the Gateway made a high-pitched humming or whirring sound when running. The sound was very distracting, and after a time when I was working here next to it, my right ear would feel discomfort or pressure. I called Cox to report the problem and was told I could go to the Solution Store and exchange the Gateway. I took it in and was given another CGM4140COM model. I hooked that one up, and it makes the same high-pitched sound as the original one. I now think the original one was not defective, but that all CGM4140COM Gateways make this sound. Have any of you experienced the same problem? If you have, do you have any tips or suggestions for how to remedy the problem? Thanks for your assistance.922Views0likes4CommentsRachio Gen3 Controller keeps going offline (PanoramicWifiGateway)
HI Cox community, Lately I've been having issues with my Irrigation system controller. I have a Rachio Gen3 controller and it keeps going offline, when I troubleshoot using the app the 2nd light flashes read and I have to reconnect to the Wifi. After I get it to go back online, the issue reoccurs later on during the day. I've looked on the Rachio community support forum and people are saying that the issue could be caused by my router and any type of firewall that could be set on it. I recently upgraded to aPanoramic Wifi Gateway modem/router and I don't know what I can do on the router to resolve the issue with the controller going offline. Can anybody help or also had issues with their sprinkler system controller going offline on a Cox router? Thanks and I look forward to your feedback.739Views0likes1CommentMore Ethernet Ports
I have thePanoramic Wifi Gateway with 2 ethernet ports. this wasn't a huge issue in the past until my household had multiple pcs that needed to be hooked up directly to the gateway. I was wondering how I would go about adding more ethernet ports? having 2-4 more would be nice.677Views0likes3CommentsInternet Disconnecting STILL
Hello Cox, I am writing here cause at this point I am incredibly frustrated. For the past few months we have been continually struggling with our internet. It cutting out with no rhyme or reason. We had a tech come out and they "found the problem" which was a bad splitter in the attic. Fixed that issue and was told it should work now. Worked for a couple days and then boom. problem back. Called the tech back out and after looking at everything they said oh all the cables were really old and they weren't sure why they hadn't been changed last time. All of them were changed and we were told again that should fix it. Well we are STILL having issues. I work from home and this has been interfering greatly. Why does this keep happening? I really do not want to call the tech back and and honestly don't feel like i should have to. having a tech come out 3 different times because they found 1 problem and then stopped there is not okay. At this point I am starting to think its all a waste of time and money and just want to have stable internet so i can work. When we loose internet it still shows that i have full bars.428Views0likes1CommentWhere can I find documentation on Panoramic modem?
My Panoramic modem is currently attached to COX COAX for input. I'm using standard WIFI features. Since I'm a computer professional with strong preference for wired Ethernet to desktop computers, I'm using a ETH1 slot on Modem connected to a CISCO switch. This configuration provides reliable constant network performance to my desktops. Can the 2nd Ethernet slot, ETH2, be used concurrently with ETH1? Thanks for your support.2.1KViews0likes2CommentsPanoramic Modem/Router set to bridge mode keeps rebooting periodically
My modem is probably 3 months old. About 3 weeks ago it started rebooting itself for no apparent reason. I have it set in Bridge mode so I can use my own firewall and router. I've noticed my upstream signal on all channels are 52 or greater. Is that a problem? I also don't get full gigabit service... probably more like 500Mb. Any ideas? When I check with whatismyip.com i get a different cox ip address from what the internals of the cox modem says... both are cox ip addresses. not internal ones since it is in bridge more I expected them both to be the same. Any chance that is a problem?513Views0likes0CommentsCox Panoramic Gateway Wifi router is insanely loud
I upgraded my service recently to get 10 mb/s upload speed and they forced me to rent a new piece of hardware, Panoramic Gateway CGM4141.. I already listen to laptop fans on/off and a refrigerator on/off, This thing is always on ruining the few peaceful moments that are left in this world. I've seen other people mention this, was there any resolution? Send it back for anotherof the same thing isa waste of time. Can we put this on a really long coax and stick it in the closet? Thanksfor any advice J832Views0likes1CommentUnable to create or edit existing port forwards (Panoramic Router)
I am currently unable to to modify or create new port forward on my Cox Panoramic Router. I have been able to make them in the past, without any issues at all. However for the last few months, when I attempt to make/edit an existing port forward I get a error saying message saying "We're having some trouble - Please try again. If the problem persist, check back later". (Screenshot:https://www.screencast.com/t/PmLOGrVKFE) I've tried the following steps to attempt to resolve this: Restarted Gateway (duh) Cleared cache and cookies as well as attempt port forwards from 3 different desktop computers - same error Installed the "Cox Wifi App" on my phone (with wifi turned off) to remote manage gateway setting - same error (rules out a device or network issue) Factory reset the Gateway - Obviously this cleared my old port forwards as well as everything else, forcing me to manually re-configured my network... but I am still unable to create a new port forward (same error) At this point I am convinced it must be something with either the gateway itself, or a recent update changed something on Cox side with the remote management tool works. Has anyone else had this issue? Surely I can't be alone here!580Views0likes0Comments
