Guest Wifi Network Removed - Really Cox no options to fix this?
I recently discovered that Cox deleted the guest network from all customers that have Panoramic Wifi without notifying anyone. Thanks Cox. After several calls with techs I finally talked to one that told me they were deleted as some compatibility issues were occurring with cable box systems. They also said there are no options to get a guest network other than to possibly buy your own modem or get a different service. Again, thanks Cox. Is this for real? Hasn't the Internet, Wifi, etc. been around for 25+ years? If this problem exists I find it hard to believe that Cox HAS NO QUALIFIED NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEERS that can look into this and fix the problem. Cox, please take ownership of this and find a way to give guest networks back to your customers. It is the right thing to do. If you don't, believe me other companies will. The Deceptive Promise
I am writing to express my frustration and disappointment with the reward program COX has been promoting. Despite meeting all the requirements and following the instructions diligently, I never recieved the rewards that were advertised. I have contacted your customer service multiple times, but each time I receive vague responses or promises that the issue will be resolved soon and today they said that I was never eligible for this reward and will not be honoured. On a Roku, how do I stream Cox channels I pay for
I have Cox digital and a Roku. I have managed to get some of the Discovery and History channels to stream on my Roku..Not live tv.. Yet other channels will not stream. Such as Boomerang cartoon channel, CBS live, ABC live, etc., that I pay for, through Cox. How do I get these channels to link to my Roku through my Cox account without having to pay additional fees for the channel? Is there a way to stream ALL Cox channels on the Roku? How I am dealing with spam
for reasons I am not quite sure I have started getting inundated with spam starting a couple years ago. prior to that I rarely got any. whatever the reason I have been trying to use cox's horrible spam filtering. currently this is my strategy: create a "white list" filter labeled "ignore spam filters" this is a list of from addresses/email domains with the action of keep and do not process subsequent rules. create filters for the from field, and other fields that contain words that I am certain no one I know, and no company I know will use, and/or contain words and phrases/misspellings mangled fonts etc that I am certain no one I know uses. this rule is set to REJECT with reason: "553: account doesn't exist" 553 is an actual error code for a mailbox that does not exist. my hope is spam and phishing software may receive this error and remove my email address. either way I won't get the email. create a filter for all other words and phrases that goes to a folder I created that is not the spam folder to see what filters are working, and what is being filtered by cox, also to catch any false positives to add to the white list.575Views1like13CommentsMacon GA- 31204 Cox Internet outage Any info Timeline? Does anyone in the area of 31204 (or surrounding zip codes) Macon, GA have ZERO internet service due to an “outage”? My service has been off for over a week now and I get nowhere with the chat or the phone reps. They regurgitate a script (ad nauseam) and ask if there’s anything else they can assist me with. Yes, please cancel my service and let me go elsewhere that actually can get their act together long enough for me to receive the service I’m paying for. I've had cox Internet before about 4 years ago, recently had it reinstalled. The coax line from the outisde box ran to front of the house the the coax jack going into the house to hookup into the modem. Since then I've changed where my computer is located and where I put the modem. Now I want the coax jack to run to the back of my house to a back room. Do that I don't have to run coax through the attic. I have a brick home. The original instal had no masonry drill bit to go through brick. Rescheduled another contractor and had a note put on the ticket that I have a brick home. That contractor didn't bring a masonry bit. He goes to buy one then tells me two hardware stores didn't have them. Third contractor showed up. Not only did they NOT have a masonry bit. But they didn't have drill. Who goes to a job without a drill when your job will most likely have you using a drill. Cox has a serious problem with their contractors.280Views0likes1Comment
Internet Outages AGAIN!!
I have had 4 outages in the last week in my area/neighborhood near Buffalo and Summerlin Parkway. (7 total in the last 3 weeks) I called Friday to get credited for the outages and Cox did but when asked why or will these keep happening?.. nothing. I understand COX is going to keep us in the dark about what causes their problems but for the amount we pay there should be some "communication" (haa, get it!) from them about a service that we rely on now as much as power and water! This has made me start looking to get a second connection which I should have to do. And Cox doesn't care they have the monopoly over most the area. Internet drops every 10-20 minutes?
We had a recent storm that knocked the internet out. Now the internet drops every 10-20 minutes with no consistent connection. Somethings got to change with cox… Tried talking to support but it’s a “real agent” robot that sends replies that have nothing to do with the issue I have. If another service was allowed to operate in my area I would be gone in a minute.
