My Contour 2 shows a "Loss of Signal" on the TV screen after being asleep.

Contour 2 main box shows "Loss of Signal" after being asleep; at least the last 2 times. It does NOT affect mini box. Have to reboot each time. Prob first occurred 2-3 weeks ago every 4-5 days. Now twice in one day. Chat with Cox suggests possible "box wiring" problem. Hate to get a new box as I have 5-6 recorded TV show and lots more scheduled which I'd loose. Any suggestions?

  • Hi Baseball Nut, I'm wondering if this might be an HDMI handshake issue. Is the Contour 2 receiver connected directly to the TV with an HDMI cord? Have you tried a different HDMI cord? Make sure that the HDMI cable fits securely in its port and that there are no sharp bends in the cable. The next time this happens, change the TV Input setting, wait for at least 10 seconds, and then switch back to the correct HDMI input setting. If what's happening is due to an HDMI handshake issue, switching inputs in this manner is often enough to reestablish a good HDMI handshake. -Becky, Cox Support Forums Moderator
