Cox DVR infrastructure

Why does Cox push their cloud based DVR when they obviously don't have the appropriate infrastructure to handle it?  Crappy quality.  They claimed doing a migration to another cloud provider would fix it.  No improvement.  Now tonight, all of our DVR recordings suddenly disapeared.  When I called, I'm told they are doing an emergency cloud migration.  I'm guessing someone screwed up royally somewhere.  Either that, or they are under ransome ware attack.

  • Hi MattF, I like cloud DVR because I don't have to worry about losing recordings when the hard drive of the DVR crashes. I've had that happen a couple of times over the years, so I know what it feels like to lose your recordings. I'm sorry this happened! I'm not aware of any cloud migration or maintenance going on this week. Have you tried resetting the cable box to see if you are then able to access your recordings? The box may be out of sync with the network.
