as of 12/30/2018 this is still a problem
Same here. Past couple months upload packet loss has gotten very noticeable in online gaming. Don't notice to much during normal internet browsing but there have been times when speeds have dropped down to 1-2 mbps. Can be seen on Fortnite the easiest as they have a netstat tool that shows packet loss % during the game. Mine will range from 2-10% on a good day but during peak times will go up to 50-60%. Was told that our modem may be the issue by tech support so went and bought an Arris sb8200. No change but did notice that upstream power levels seem to be very low, 25-29 dbmv, when the manual says they should be mid to high 40's.
- Becky6 years agoModeratorHi Jedos, while I'm not seeing any packet loss at this time, your upstream levels are slightly outside of our preferred specifications. This is something a technician can resolve during a service call. -Becky, Cox Support Forums Moderator

Thanks for the response Becky. What are desired downstream and upstream power levels and SNR on your network? I have have seen upstream up to about 30-32 dbmv but not any higher than that.
- Becky6 years agoModeratorHi Jedos, for your modem and local network configuration, the Tx threshold is 30. Your Tx has been hovering just under 30 for the past several days. The Rx threshold is -12 to 15, with SNR 31 or greater. -Becky, Cox Support Forums Moderator
