NO SERVICE AGAIN
Man I am getting really tired of paying Cox for internet service and NOT HAVING CONSISTENT SERVICE MULTIPLE TIMES A WEEK.
By reset, I mean I used a pencil to push in the reset button in the back. It didn't change anything, but the internet came back on. It didn't do anything to the Wi-fi extender, either.
Oh, password . . . have you ever tried to change or find your password with Netgear? You can't do anything without knowing your password, and I have never been able to figure out all they say to find it or change it.
Spoke too early, too . . . internet and phone went out yesterday around noon, but came back on after I unplugged everything. Didn't have to push any reset buttons. T-Mobile internet is sounding more interesting by the day . . . but it's not in my area yet . . . and I find it hard to believe it would be as consistent as a wired network like Cox.
The button you pushed with a pencil is recessed for a reason. It's to reset the router to its original Factory settings, thus deleting all your customized settings.
If you don't know the username and password of your router, the only thing you can do is Factory Reset to its original credentials. As of now, it should be admin and password.
I document my passwords and store on the page of my birthday in a book. Although I document, it's kinda cryptic to figure. I'm sure a burglar will eventually solve it but I'm not making it easy.
