My internet often slows down to 25 mps. I'll restart the router/modem and the internet speeds back to 400-500 mps. Sounds cox deliberately reduces the speed? Is there any way I don't have to keep restarting my modem/router to get the speed I'm paying for?
It sounds like you are using WiFi, and when you reboot the router/modem, what happens is, it scans the wifi channels and selects the ones with the least amount of interference.
Of course as your neighbors do the same, you get clogged up again, and you have to reboot yours.
Run some tests with a computer connected via ethernet, and WiFi disabled. See what your speeds are.
