I wouldn't assume too many households would need a 2 Gb plan. This is a lot of data considering 25 Mbps for UHD. The attraction is for gamers. I don't game but would 100 Mb be good for few gamers and a house full of IoT devices?
I think people who work from home could also use the extra upload speed. File transfer, VOIP and audio/video streaming. Gaming takes very little upload bandwidth. Depending on the game anywhere from 1-2Mbps to 10Mbps. Only downloading large game files/updates require faster speeds and I think that would max out at 1Gbps on most consoles.

A bigger upload pipe...yes!...subscribers need it. But to sell it with a 2Gb plan?

There is word that the upload speeds will soon become 1/10th of the download speed on all packages. That includes 200Mbps upload on the 2Gbps plan however the upstream OFDMA channel has to be implemented first.
