Internet Down AGAIN
Like many other Cox Internet costumers for the past month our internet service goes out at least once a day if not more. Sometimes the service stays out for 12 plus hours sometimes an hour. I have contacted Cox and they said it was probably my modem because it was pretty old. I purchased a new modem 1/13/25 from Best Buy and called Cox to go through the process of installing and getting it up and running. We were very happy cause our WiFi was faster and thought Cox helped us solve our problem………NOT!!!!!! The very next morning, 1/14/25, at 8:18AM internet was down again, luckily it only lasted 31 minutes…..; but then again last night, 1/15/25 at 8:28PM internet down AGAIN and it’s the next day 1/16/25 and nearly 9AM and it hasn’t come back on yet !!!! Cox always says NO OUTAGES in our area but obviously from what I’m reading here lots of customers are having lots of outages. Horrible, HORRIBLE service latelyJCNEW200217 minutes agoVisitor22Views0likes6CommentsRIP DSLReports.com
Just wanted to see if anyone has heard of anything official about DSLReports.com being shut down/broken. Right now it's giving a 504 error and been down for over 24 hours. As per here, looks like the domain has been locked, probably a payment issue. I mention it here because that site is where I started helping Cox customers many years ago. Long before this forum was created. It was the "OG" or "GOAT" of the online troubleshooting sites. Cox used to offer direct support on it but that changed a couple years ago for unknown reasons. There was a lot of data that was only on that site so it's a real shame. End of a era. With all the hacks/exploits/changes happening recently, it's scary to think what the internet will become in 5-10 years. Hope everyone is doing OK.WiderMouthOpen32 minutes agoEsteemed Contributor II3Views0likes0CommentsEveryday outraged !

the internet service in my neighborhood is not stable. in the past few weeks we have had multiple outages each under an hour and several slow internet periods requiring a modem reset. often restarting the modem doe not solve the slow running service.rbichler2 hours agoVisitor33Views0likes3Comments- abraun1027042 hours agoNew Contributor102Views0likes7Comments
Cox takes advantage of disaster victims
DO NOT USE COX COMMUNICATIONS. I had cox internet from August until April 24. In April of 2024 a tornado completely destroyed my home. I called the first week of May for them to pause my service. They didn’t. With me scrambling to find a place to live, having to replace everything I own and dealing with multiple insurance claims, I didn’t realize that they never stopped billing me. So in July, I call again. Despite them being the ones who didn’t pause my service and kept billing me, they treated me terribly and kept me on the phone for over an hour for them to just give me credits on my account instead of a refund. I asked them to leave it paused until we got wiring back up when the house was at least partially rebuilt. Instead, they turned it back on two months later. I saw they started billing me again and I informed them there was no wiring at my house for Cox. Today, I called to just cancel it. So to top off the CONSTANT outages even when the service worked, their constant billing despite no service, they still want me to purchase their hardware for $250! Yall, save yourself a ton of money and time and just get Starlink.Ebryant16 hours agoVisitor28Views0likes2CommentsAdding URLs
I am relatively new to Cox. I have a Contour system for TVs. It seems to have a lot streaming apps available ... some free and some not. Is there any way to input a URL to the Contour box to connect with a streaming service? I have a few that I use to access the streaming offered by the corresponding providers. Right now, I have to tie up my laptop to watch any of these on my large screen TV. I would like to let the Contour box do this, if possible.Vindicator_119 hours agoVisitor16Views0likes1CommentKeep @cox.net email address when cancelling internet service
I'm having a hard time finding info on whether or not I would lose access to my Cox.net email address if I cancelled my Cox service. This article says I would lose it, but it's a third party site, so I'm not super-confident. I can't seem to find anything on the Cox site. Thanks in advance.Solvedpjduffey19 hours agoNew Contributor123Views0likes5Comments
