I feel like I’m being extorted by Cox
The guy on the phone said I needed a technician to come out free of charge because the connection wasn’t working .. so of course I said okay send a tech out free of charge and now I have a bill of $200 .. $100 each for 2 pro hookups ??? What the hell ? Now I have to call and be on hold tomorrow via phone or waste my time going down to cox communications in person … the cox guy on phone said they had to come out free of charge because he couldn’t do it and it’s part of the free service from cox and now they are trying to charge me $200 … they are totally ripping me off … more like stealing from me ! I’m not paying for your Cox SCAM … I feel like I’m being extorted … This is criminal on the part of cox communications in my opinion … they are charging me for something that they said was free and now charging me an insane $200 for some guy to come out literally for 5 minutes…. These charges better be removed from my bill or I will take you to small claims court and maybe even a class action lawsuit . Listen to the recorded phone call of the guy saying it was free …. If anyone else has had this happen, let’s get a class action lawsuit going and get to the bottom of this crap …rachelw9 hours agoVisitor43Views0likes1Comment- mr_khoa1102k211 hours agoVisitor17Views0likes1Comment
Voice Tools Settings Issues
The Voice Mail toggle is changed to OFF. After a lengthy processing delay, attempts to turn it ON fail with the following Voice Tools error message: "Your Voice Mail request cannot be completed. Please try again". Clicking Spam Blocker and changing all Spam Risks to something other than "Send to Voicemail" will allow the Voice Mail toggle to be changed to ON. However, after collapsing and expanding Settings again, the Voice Mail toggle is changed back to OFF, and the Spam Blocker settings are back to values from before they were changed. Voice Tools Settings do not save. The only noticeable difference in the Voice Tools page is a new "Blocked" tab in Call History. I have no idea if it does anything because clicking it displays "0 matching results found". It took months for Call History issues to be mostly fixed. Why did Cox change something else just to break it too? With the sale of Cox, these issues may never be fixed. Voice mail may never work again.CurtB11 hours agoHonored Contributor160Views0likes8CommentsTV problems
We returned to Rhode Island on 5-28-25. On 5-29-25 we started having issues with the guide, it keep going up and down really fast and we had no voice command so we called Cox. On 5-31-25 2 people arrived and they were here for a long time and appeared to fix everything. They shut the TV off and left. Within about 1/2 hour we tried to turn the TV on but it would not work. We tried all 3 TV's and none of them worked. We called Cox and they said they would try and get the repair team back there before 7PM but if they didn't come back then we would be on a wait list for Sunday 6-1-25. We waited and they never came back. Another day with no TV. On Sunday morning we called to confirm we were on a wait list and the individual said no, they had no record of us being on any list. They put us on the 3-5 time slot appointment list. We informed them that we had an appointment about 10 minutes from our house and we should be back around 3 but could the repair person call us when they were on the way. No problem was the response, they will call. Around 3:05 our Ring doorbell indicated that someone was at the door. We tried to communicate with him but he left. We called Cox and they said they would try and get him right back to the house. We arrived home at 3:10. We waited and called at 4PM and Cox said that he came back home at 3:45, no one home, and he left a door hangar. There was no door hangar, we were home and we checked Ring doorbell and no one was there. He also did not call. We called back and they now say that it is up to the driver if they want to call or not. New appointment for Monday 6-2-25. Still no TV. The repair person showed up Monday was very knowledgeable and fixed everything. On Tuesday 6-3-25 we turned the TV on and it did not work, none of them. Called Cox and now waiting until Thursday 6-5-25 for another repair person. Once on Sunday we called and got a girl in another country that was not helpful, put us on hold for 15 minutes and then hung up. We need help and to date nothing has worked. What do we do next?? There is more to this story but we just want the TV's repaired.ryantodd119 hours agoNew Contributor32Views0likes2CommentsAnybody else get fake discount offers?
I setup internet at my local cox store for a deal that was $70.00+tax 1gb unlimited data. Check my account and was billed for $186.13. Asked the online live agent customer support about this, and was told no deal was on my account. I lowered my plan through the website to 500 mb with limited 1.2tb data and that was applied within 24hours. I called customer support this time to add the unlimited data and was offered yet another good deal. $100.00 +tax for 1gb unlimited data internet. Even got a work order for it: 35070023. I was assured by the rep 3 times that deal was added to my account, even though I said it is not showing on my app. Yet again, I check with online representative today and no deal is shown but I was offered another deal for $166.88. At this point, it's a joke right? Online customer service is 3rd party overseas but my local cox store did the same thing. (No offer but I have an offer for you.Solvedajohn261623 hours agoNew Contributor72Views0likes5CommentsIp address is in another state.
For some reason, my IP address says I live in Rhode Island. I don't. I live in Central Connecticut and have never lived in Rhode Island. Apparently the only way to fix this is by going to the cox store with my modem to be corrected. Which I'm going to have to do. Which is unfortunate because I live many miles away and walk. And it's 90 degrees outside. I think that this problem has absolutely nothing to me. Cox should fix it without me doing anything. It's not like I screwed something up. It's been 2 years. I've called several times to ask if this was possible and was told there's no way my IP address could be anywhere but my home area. They have vehicles and I don't and it's their faultdannyocch2 days agoNew Contributor19Views0likes1Comment- Dlporcello2 days agoNew Contributor137Views0likes8Comments
TV can't stay connected
My TV can't stay connected for more than 20 minutes any more ever. It disconnected routinely for between 1 and 5 minutes, over and over and over. This new box just doesn't work and it can't record live TV the way I need it to. Is there any plan to fix the problems with these useless new cable boxes?sepeterson1642 days agoNew Contributor29Views0likes5CommentsContour 1: guide search no longer finds non-on-demand programs
Cox, Has the ability to search for non-on-demand shows been removed from Contour 1 devices? I have several “saved” searches that have worked for years and they can no longer retrieve shows from the guide. Even if I manually attempt to search for a show, the results are always zero. It can search for on-demand shows but that is much less helpful than searching for upcoming shows/movies. This is a key feature of your system and is very disappointing. I now have to use the Contour app to search for a show, find it, note the date/time/channel and then go to that spot in the guide to record the show. Beyond frustrating. This hasn’t worked for a couple weeks. I’ve rebooted the box several times but no change in functionality. I searched the tv forum and saw a similar issue about 6 months ago but it was resolved after a few days. Anyone else having this issue if you still have a contour 1?
