Family member constantly under bombardment by spoof and fake emails from cox
So my uncle is having a terrible time with the whole transition to the webmail and getting slammed with the fake warning messages. Some most convincing. TL:DR version He fell for the bait, but cox support got things back in order. PHEW! Good job guys and gals! Now the problem persists with him STILL being bombarded. Now he gets some random messages saying he needs to click a link to update his webmail version. I'm digging around and all I can find is this noise: https://www.cox.com/residential/support/notice-to-cox-email-users-to-link-accounts.html This is something that should be something that should be mailed to the account holder; Not emailed. What the hat is this nonsense? Is he going to actually loose his email or something? I've got like 8 family members with cox, and only ONE of us is getting this message. Could someone please shed some light on this? I am in attempts to collect one of these emails he's getting in order to identify legitimacy as it starts off "Dear Customer" and generally its quite personalized.317Views0likes5CommentsWhy can't I send emails on Iphone or Macbook while connect to wifi?
I cannot send emails through the Outlook app on my Macbook and I can't send emails on my iPhone through the mail app while I am on the internet. I currently am not using Cox internet because I moved to an state that does not provide Cox as an option and my parents are my account holders, they made me an email account under theirs. I am currently using Xfinity internet but I cannot send emails on my phone on my work wifi either. Something is wrong with the SMTP and SSL connection and needs to be fixed on 3rd party email platforms because I am not logging into my webmail every time I need to send an email.700Views0likes1CommentSOON TO BE 2021 ... AND THE COX WEB-MAIL "SPAM BOMBARDMENT" STILL CONTINUES
https://ibb.co/gFPnY57 The infestation that's getting through Cox mail servers has got so bad that it's outright inexcusable, and I dread every moment when it comes time to check my email. In many ways it seems like Cox is a magnet for attracting not just spam, but other exploits, such as spoofing, phishing and pharming. Stuff that cyber-criminals use to deliver malware, attract victims to malicious websites or to steal confidential and sensitive data. In all honestly, I get more garbage than legitimate messages that it's become a frustrating chore sifting through the mess it creates. Not to mention the hours I've wasted in the daunting task of creating over a hundred, non-effective, "filter rules" to weed out some of the reoccurring pests. In fact my Inbox looks no different then my Spam folder, each containing a mixture of both spam and legitimateemails (just as the image shows above). "Marking" an email as spam is a joke too, and you’re a fool in trying to utilize that option because it does absolutely nothing. Perhaps it’s because protective measures are not being implemented by the server. But even if they were, I shouldn’t be receiving the samegarbageevery single day. And just to prove I'm not exaggerating, here a "small list" of the garbage accumulated in a typical work week: SelectHomeWarranty, Gadget Junkies, Leaf Filter Discount, Sams Club reward, CVS Pharmacy Survey, AltaiBalance, Truth_Finder, Caringforaparent.com, VeteranInsuranceDiscounts, Support Center, Soft Erections, Home Solar Survey, PowerPro-PowerSaver, FreezAir Pro, UV PhoneSanitizer|SterilizerXf, Talcum-powder-lawsuit settlement.com, TalcumPowderLawsuit, Dream Home Ideas, Pest Control, Max-Performer, ProbioticEase|Special, Dear Beneficiary, eharmony Partner, Protect Your Home - ADT Premier Provider, awesomestuff2buy.com, Exclusive Tactical Flashlight, NationalConcealedAcademy, REPLY ME URGENTLY, Wheel of Fortune, FRONTLINE KN95 Facemask, Vivint.SmartHome, Gemini Trust, AAGMortgage, Premium Mattresses by Lull, BANK OF CHINA, SeniorsDiscountsClub Info, PowerPro-PowerSaver, Nutrisystem Discount, BestCarInsurance, Pure Radiance, TommyChong, BoyScoutsAbuseLawsuit.com, Anti-Virus Protection, EZBatteryReconditioning, seniorperks, Boundery eBulb, Nerve Renew Wes, RoundUp Lawsuit, Walk-in Safety Tub, GutterProtector.coPromo, SunPower Promo, Buy Mask Shield, Male Enhancement, InjurySurvey.com Info, Cannabis Gummies, DoGoodPoints, SNOWTeethWhitening, FreeFlashlight, Enlarged Prostate, PlatinumAutoWarranty, BathroomRenovationShop, USAMilitarySavings Info, RoofingSurvey, Oil Change Coupons, Diet Legends Keto Fuel, NationalConcealedAcademyTraining, Smart Living Tips, ZantacInjuryHelp.com, ShopThePersonalButcher Ad, Nutrition Tips, FundsForVictims, Crepe Erase. Not only is it enough to make your head spin, but it's an issue that's shared with thousands of other Cox customers who are equally just as frustrated. In fact this abuse has been going on way too long and it's about time that the company finally takes immediate action to combat these security issues - rather than continuing to ignore them over the years by neglecting the basic techniques for securing their systems - and thus leaving us vulnerable. Frankly, I strongly feel that we as consumers deservemore consideration than what we've been getting, as well as receiving the best protection against alloutside threats. After all, if Gmail can protect their users from spam and other exploits for free, then why can't Cox at least tryby doing the same? With that said, I'm convinced that Cox is technologically behind the eight-ball and is seriously in need of updating or adding more security layersto get back up to speed. Please weigh in if you agree. NOTE TO MODERATOR: Judging by the many posts on this particular subject during the past several years, this has been an ongoing issue that has yet to be resolved. Since this is forum open for discussion, it would be greatly appreciated that you allow more ample time for comments and/or suggestions to be heard before making the final decision of marking this thread as locked. Thank you.3.9KViews0likes11CommentsX-Spam-Optin: quarantine on Safe email - Why?
For over 2 months, I get safe email sent to my spam. Why? And what can I do to stop it? Below is a screen shot of the source. Ok, my curiosity has gotten the best of me! For the last couple or 3 months, all email from CD Notifications, except Messages, go in my Cox (internet provider) spam folder. When I was on CFF, there was a fellow who taught us to use "Message Source" or "View Source". This shows the code to get a notification/message from point A to point B. This is the last notification received in Cox spam. Cox email has been broken for years, I have spent many hours with a client and mine where the email client is working i.e. Outlook.com, Outlook fat client, or Iphone and then all of the sudden it keeps asking for username and password over and over again, and states that it is incorrect. After resetting it it will work for a few weeks to a month, and then breaks again. Also if I just leave it alone for a few hours then it will connect no problems, however this is a Cox issue extending for years now. Cox techs have said they will call me back with a solution and never have. I have never had so many issues with emal as with the cox accounts, they are not a once a year issue, this is a week to week or month to month issue many times.981Views0likes3CommentsCox's server side email filter rules
Hello All -- I tried this question a month ago. That query is now locked, and was never well answered. So as requested, I'm starting again. I'm looking for a tutorial on the server-side email filters. Something that gives the basics that trial and error has not revealed as of yet. Questions such as: What is the limit on the number of rules? What is the limit on the number of conditions per rule? What is the limit on the number of actions per rule? Are rules case sensitive? What is the difference between 'contains', 'matches', and 'regex'? Similarly for 'contains not', 'matches not', and 'not regex'? Similarly for 'exists' and 'does not exist' etc. After submitting, how long before the rules are effective? If using 'From is exactly' how much of the From line is checked: the entirety? Including 'From: '? just between the angle brackets? including the angle brackets? If 'Keep' is the action, where is the email kept? if 'Discard' is the action, where is the email put? Where does 'Starts with' start and 'Ends with' end? See 'From' above. Do the Spam/Not Spam icons have any Bayesian logic associated with them? etc. The list goes on. I'll settle for a pointer to a comprehensive discussion. Maybe this will become that. On the subject of 'Alaskan Seafood' I have found this combination on any condition to work: From Regex /alaskan/i Subject Regex /(seafood|alaskan)/i Body Regex /alaskan/i File Into Select Folder Spam --Mick751Views0likes2CommentsHow can I simultaneously search ALL emails in ALL folders for specific content?

Hi, all. My Dad called me yesterday because he couldn't access his gmail. I went over there today to find that somehow his gmail password has been changed. He could have been hacked or he could have changed it on accident and forgot(he has mild dementia). His phone number is no longer associated with the gmail account, but his cox email is. Unfortunately, it appears cox deleted his email account a few years ago when we moved his service to an assisted living facility and then later back home. We never asked them to but they closed his account and opened a new one after 20+ years with cox. We have sent google a message but as far as they are concerned the account is working fine and don't appear to offer any further assistance other than to use the automated recovery options. The only recovery option for his gmail is by using his deleted cox email account, and he is literally in tears over losing all his pictures and contacts. We tried reaching out to Cox and chatted with "Dan" who said that there is no option to recover email accounts, but there must be someone who administers the database for their webmail- is there anyone from Cox that we could please reach out to? We can easily show that he is the account owner and user of the deleted email account. My father has been a cox customer since the 90's and we would be so grateful if we could find someone able to help us. Thanks -Bryan956Views0likes3CommentsWebmail login on Cox website problems
For the past year or more it always takes the login page a long time to load when I go to webmail on the cox website. When the login box finally loads, it takes a long time to process the password entered and load the e-mail. It usually loads the e-mail but occasionally it does not. FOR THE LAST TWO DAYS THE LOGIN PAGE HAS WORKED GREAT! The user name and password box was slightly larger again and worked smooth and fast like every other website. BUT IT DIDN'T LAST- TODAY IT'S BACK TO THE SAME OLD **. I WAS NOT ABLE TO LOGIN AGAIN. It is also back to the smaller login box This is the only website or login page that ever gives me problems, and ironically it's for the company that I pay high prices for fast internet service.1.3KViews0likes3CommentsIs it possible to set up an automatic email reply?
