Why did it take an FCC and FTC complaint to address network issues?
Lets be honest, Cox has been bamboozling its customers for years.... Here's how to get them to take responsibility and maintain the utility provide. The constant interruptions and hiccups in the modem don't stop. You call tech support, and it gets brushed off as "Too many people getting home from work" and the technicians they have for support have NO knowledge of the tech they're supposedly troubleshooting. If you're lucky, they'll reboot the modem, There's something called "Packet Loss" - when one or more transmitted data packets fail to arrive at their destination. Effectively, If I send you a story that is100 pages long, and the mailmanonly delivers 80 of those... How could you have the full story? The continued packet loss and connection issues Ive been having for 6 months cant be resolved because the technicians are either WILLFULLY refusing to acknowledge this, or INTENTIONALL trained to avoid anything that would point to a net work issue, I have my 6th technician scheduled to my home July 5... Everything from my PC, to The modem, To the house wiring was blamed for the issues. Then I learned how to run ping tests and trace routes.... Both tests Cox technicians avoided running because the results would prove the issue is on their end... Both are simple command that can track How much and more importantly WHERE your packets are getting dropped. Multiple tests point to a specific node in the Southwestern Infrastructure. [ langbprj02-ae1.0.rd.la.cox.net .] I'm curious why I need my day interrupted for the 6th time, and Why multiple friends inArizona are experiencing the same dropped packets.. at the same node in California...? If this problem is somehow on my end... Why do Arizona and Nevada customers have the same issue with the Los Angeles node? So, 6 months of the blaming the consumer, it took ME discovering a basictest to prove the technicians were lying and avoid utility maintenance. The Federal Communications Commission andFederal Trade Commission both have website that allow you submit complaints for fraud and bad business. A utility knowing providing sub par service is doing both. You can google the steps to run a PINGTESTand a TRACERT. I'm sure you'll see huge packet loss as well as drops that occur WELL outside of your homes range of responsibility. Screen shot these, and submit the complaint forms. Sudden GASP, SHOCK, After submitting these forms, Executive Escalations gave me a call, Theyll look into the construction of the network Don't let the tech lie and get away with knowingly providing sub standard service. Cox doesn't want to pay to maintain its lines and its borderline criminal.837Views0likes0CommentsRemember to report Cox to the FCC
Please remember that if you have an issue with your internet and cox cannot solve the problem while still continuing to charge your every month, you should contact the FCC. They are there so that companies like cox cannot abuse the monopoly they hold over many users. Before disconnecting service and giving up contact the FCC first and tell them what's happening. here is a related post that is talking about this as well forums.cox.com/.../issues-with-your-internet-call-the-fcc1.2KViews1like4CommentsExtremely poor connection performance with latency, jitter, connection drops in South Scottsdale area.
Going on for almost 2 months now. I have pretty much had to abandon my home internet service for my wireless networks hotspot. Cox consistently every day reports outages and disables modem resets in my area. They will have a time frame of when service should return to normal, only to have it down again the next day. Even when the outage is lifted, the internet service is still unstable and poor. I've tried contacting their customer service reps to setup a tech to come test the lines in our neighborhood, but trying to get someone that's actually in tech support on the phone or through chat/text is nearly impossible. They will consistently d/c the call or transfer you to the wrong department. If you text they just stop responding and push you back to bot. Anyone else in Scottsdale having these issues? Has cox offered up any solutions? This is an ongoing issue for every home on my block. Should we all switch to a new provider at this point?1.7KViews1like7Comments147mbps down, 0.07 up... Literally can't earn a living.
Low upload means no file sharing or streaming. For those of us that earn our money online and did not get bailed out by the government, this is a death sentence. I am immunocompromised and can't even earn enough for my meds because this ISP keeps dropping upload rates, then points to the download and says everything is fine >:( FCC complaint filed! #gettheirwallet544Views0likes0CommentsCOVID-19, Slow Speeds, and Why You Are Paying Full Price for Them!
COVID-19 is clearly slowing down many of Cox’s servers due to the increase of Residential use across the nation. Many more people are at home and needing to use the internet for very demanding virtual tasks to replace going to work. Gaming has also increased substantially with schools and colleges around the nation closing. This is throttling your internet speeds drastically as we speak! Why are we still paying full price for our service then? Follow this link to submit an informal complaint to the FCC for Cox’s unwillingness to reimburse their customers for paying for full price speeds, while realistically receiving fractions of the speed! https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us For example I have the Ultimate package at 300 mbps, and currently I am receiving anywhere from 5 kbps to 20 mbps!1.6KViews2likes3CommentsVery, very, very bad internet speed. Now Kbps and not MBPS
t just keeps getting worse. Now my download ranges from 141 to 525kpbswlhenit should be at 30 MBPS. They are supposedly working on the lines (about 6 weeks, since I filed a report with FCC) but just keeps getting worse no matter what they do. Even loaned me a panoramicmodemrouter to try (no better, just got worse) Just got my new bill and wonder why I am still paying for this service when it is non-existent. I can't even stream any shows as it says the speed is to slow. I am wondering why I even subscribe tointernetwith cox.???? I have been suffering from this since 2010. They just cannot get it fixed for me. I am disabled Senior and they are just bleeding me dry. They care for nobody only making money for Cox. Not even any discounts either for Seniors.:( Here is the report of myspeeds Showing results 1 to 4 of 4 Only Upload Only Download All Identifiers Dallas, TX Washington D.C. I received a criminal harassment telemarketer call a half hour ago and the call did not log into Phone Tools. I've concurrently been experiencing issues logging in to PT- a couple times being taken to a page that is selling Phone Tools (Stay on top of your calls with phone tools) and offers links for me to "learn more" or "order now".. Just now got another criminal harassment call (IRS filing suit scam) and will see if that logged). Edit- cannot log in at all. Apparently my account not longer has this feature. Are the servers down? Is there maintenance being performed? Inquiring minds want to know. Edit 2: Finally got in... and both calls showed. There are apparently issues with something at Cox. Will update with any other difficulties experienced logging in.9.5KViews1like9CommentsCOX Communication ISP VOIP
What is COX Communication policy regarding use of its services both as a ISP and VOIP provider? What can be expected from it should its services be determined as being used fraudently? Have been receiving unsolicited tele marketers who use VOIP tractable to cable providers.2.6KViews0likes1Commentmy Lifeline service was cut off, without notice
I have lifeline phone service through Cox Communications. I received my renewal forum back in Oct 2014, I filled it out the same day, and mailed it back. Cox’s records show it was received by you all a few days latter in Oct. 2014. I received no further communications from nether Cox, nor USAC. Yesterday I received an email from Cox that a work order for my phone service was completed. Since I did not request a work order I called them about it. I find out that I have ben removed from the Lifeline program with no explanation as to why. If there was a problem with my renewal someone should have contacted me. I am sure I filled out the form right: I am disabled and my only income is Social Security Disability, and is well below the single person cap; I have both Medicare and Medicaid, and receive extra help to pay for my meds; Lastly I did receive my State of Oklahoma Sells Tax Rebate last year. So I am very puzzled as to why I have been cut off from the Lifeline program. While I do have a cell phone as backup in case my landline is down, that my daughter helps me with, we are paying full price for it, so I am not double dipping into the Lifeline program. The only other thing I can think of is my son has the same first and last name as me(we have different middle names), and your system is getting me confused with him. However that would only be an issue if you only used my first and last name in contacting Medicaid and the State Sells Tax rebate program, without using my Social Security number as you should have. I would like an explanation as to why no one contacted me between Oct and now about any problems. I had similar problem last year, and Cox contacted me, and we were able to resolve it before my Lifeline service was cut off.3.6KViews0likes1Comment
