Barefruit Ltd and the tracking of internet traffic
I am logging thousands of hit a day from a company called Barefruit Ltd. From what research I have done it has partnered with Cox to track and redirect traffic to sponsored links when you mistype an address in the address window. How can I get this to stop, and why is Barefruit slamming my connection with requests to connect to my computer?Solved11KViews0likes1CommentCox Email Discontinuation
I visited a Cox retail store in Metairie, LA within the last week for some account maintenance. During the visit the Cox rep informed me that in the near future, i.e., sometime in February 2022, that Cox will be discontinuing email service to all existing cox.net addresses. She said there have been multiple notices of the impending shut down. This same information was reiterated by a different rep on a subsequent visit. In reviewing my cox email accounts I have found no notice of a looming shutdown and can't find any notice on the Cox website. I am aware that new accounts cannot be created but can find nothing indicating that existing accounts will be terminated in the near future. Has anyone else heard anything regarding the discontinuation of existing Cox email accounts? If so, can you point me to additional information? Thanks.8.8KViews0likes1CommentCrazy/Spike/Low Upload/download speed.
For the passed 4 year's my family has suffered from crazy spikes, packet loss, and slow internet provided by cox internet. I have the 30DL/5UL plan, with reg/ cable TV. Issue with it is every few months I get huge packet loss, random disconnects, and slow speeds. this period last for a month or so of consistent calling of Tech support from Cox. Every time I call the support, I get the turn around. It's this, Its that, or try this or try that. I HAVE DONE IT ALL. I do all of it before I call and waste my time. With that being said, I will only go over this event for the sake of dignity to the cox support. 2 weeks ago, I started getting bad packet loss and Jitters. I ran my speeds on cox speed checker, Pingtest . net and speedtest . net. It is clear I was having issues since I was getting web hang ups and everything. I call tech support for them to only send out 2 techs. These techs plugged in their unit and that was it. Said they didnt see anything that is causing it. So few days after they left it stopped. Till about 2 days ago. I started noticing my uploading speed was spiking so bad. I tested it and dub checked it and it was coming back with solid download speed, but the upload was less than half '1.5Mbs' of what I am suppose to get '5Mbs'. I call cox about the issue, and all I get is the reach around. Sent to a Tech 2 support guy to tell me the same thing "cant find anything wrong" "Try this Try that.. Still nothing. Still getting ** upload. here is a set of upload/download speeds done directly on cox internet speed.. Now keep in mind when you see them, I pay for 5Mbs upload speed. The Download speed is actually higher than what i typically get. http://tinypic.com/r/2dvpqon/5 I have a tech coming out again tomorrow.. So lets see where this leads. Question is, Does anyone els have this issue?8.4KViews0likes7CommentsAbysmal Upload Speeds
I have already posted this in a thread below and decided to post it in a new thread as to not interfere with the help of the the other customer. I am a Streamer and we have been receiving serious issues with our upload speeds. This problem is near identical to another recent users post. A user that seems to be not too far from us. Also as this user had stated, the issue started directly after a recent outage and we have JUST upgraded to a speed of 300/20. After our upgrade our speeds had been AMAZING, ever since the outage I would seem to have ok speeds here and there but primary my upload has been abysmal. ranging anywhere from 10 up - 2 up. Cox speed test: Start Cox Net Download Speed Upload Speed Latency Your IP Address Cox Market Fri Jul 15 9:18 PM Yes 307 Mbps 9 Mbps 19 millisec 70.185.113.126 Atlanta (Cox speed test actually read 8 but reported 9. Honestly these tests have never seemed to align with our performance) (This speed test was as close to the cox speed test server as possible and was performed just before the cox test. I am able to monitor my output from my streaming software and they align more with speedtest.net) our Download speeds seem to be a bit low and when i called in the agent had informed me that there was some discrepancies with one of our lanes. I am not at all unhappy with the down speed as this is still absolutely more than adequate for me. The up speed on the other hand is a very huge issue. I thought maybe it was on my end but after extensive trouble shooting and a firmware update for my router it would seem this is not the case as far as I can see. This is only confirmed by the fact that others seem to be having the same exact issue. They had scheduled a truck roll which at earliest could arrive by Sunday but I would be pretty PO'd if they got here, nothing was fixed and we were responsible for the charges (especially considering the post I found with the user having the same issue reported 3 techs not fixing the problem.). I'm currently using a Netgear router with the model number: WNDR3700v5 and a modem with: SB6183. I was concerned about throttling, but after reading countless posts on here i'm fairly certain that is not the case. Though I would be lying if I stated that is was not a lingering concern. On the contrary I have been very supportive of Cox and have been delighted with their services. I only hope that this will resolved ASAP as this is quite detrimental to my stream channel. Thanks! EDIT: I should probably mention that I am always wired in. Never wireless. I have tried tests with both the router and direct into the modem many times. I am seeing no errors in the router log. Of course I have tried unplugging and replugging all wires including co axle.7KViews0likes14CommentsPanoramic Wifi App Not Working
Hello, I just moved to a new house. I exchanged my old modem for a new one today, in-store. Previously, I was able to access my network and manage my passwords, who was using my wifi, etc. Once I was done setting up the modem and my wifi was working on my phone and laptop, I went onto the Cox Panoramic Wifi App to check if I could change my name and password. Sure enough, the app said my router was offline and I couldn't access any tabs. I contacted (2) agents of Cox and no one was able to help me resolve this issue. I would like to be able to manage my network on my phone, like I use to. If anyone could help me, that would be great. Please..6.2KViews0likes7CommentsCox Premier Only Downloading 36 Mbps
I recently upgraded to the Cox 50 Mbps (Premier) from 25 Mbps (Preferred) in the Manhattan, KS area (66502). I am currently only attaining download speeds of MAX 36 Mbps and upload speeds of MAX 12 Mbps according to Speedtest.net. I've tested this via a Macbook Pro hardwired directly to the modem, as well as wirelessly through an Airport Extreme base station (5th Generation). Furthermore, I utilize a personally purchased Motorola Surfboard SB6121 with the latest firmware pushed from the ISP, so DOCSIS 3.0 isn't the issue. Any suggestions?Solved6KViews0likes5CommentsZoom 5350
Anyone have best settings for the Zoom 5350, including wireless? I already found out about the "IP Flood Detection" option, but trying to maximize my combo modem/wireless router. Also, I tried finding firmware updates for this unit, but Zoom states it needs to come from Cox - any idea if this will happen?5.4KViews0likes2Comments90% + Packet Loss & Rubberbanding, Lag Spikes, connection losses to multiple game servers and streaming clients

I've been having terrible wifi issues with the Zoom 5350 set up - IP Flood detection is off, channel set to auto (or I select a channel that doesn't have too much overlap, it works for a bit), and I reset every so often just to get it to work. Location is fine, only about 1,000 sq ft, works fine when I'm in the same room, but move on over to the next room drops low if not recognized at all. What ideal settings can I use? Should I add an external wifi router? Completely frustrated.5.3KViews0likes4CommentsNot getting advertised speeds?
I recently upgraded from preferred internet to the premier service. However after resetting my modem I am still receiving my old speeds of 50mb. Can anybody from cox assist me please? My modem/router model is the netgear N450 which says on the cox approved modem page that it is capable of the premier service.5KViews0likes11Comments
