Repeat Connection Drops
When using WiFi my connection drops for about 30-40 seconds and then reconnects this happens about every 30 minutes. When plugged directly to the modem there is no loss of connection. My modem is a cox modem, my router is new. I have the highest speed available. I teach online and the multiple disconnecting is causing me to evaluate other providers. After three conversations with Cox customer service, I am still getting this same inbox error with no supplied remedy: Error Folder "INBOX" has been closed on mail server 127.0.0.1. Probably your request took too long. Through my research, I've found that it has been an existing issue with other users since at least as far back as July 2017. Why hasn't a fix been identified yet? I use my email for business and I'm losing money daily because of this issue. Who else has experienced this problem and what, if any, was the solution? Ever since I moved into this house years ago, I have had intermittent connection issues. Multiple service reps have been out here to "diagnose" my connection, but no one can ever seem to pinpoint the cause of my connection. I have recently cut everything but internet (because we know Cox is a monopoly in this service), and I continue to have connection issues. It's only the UPLOAD I have issues with. I pay for: 100 Mbps DOWN, 10 Mbps UP. My last test I received: 86.33 Mbps DOWN, 0.00 UP, with a 44% packet loss (29 ms latency, which is acceptable). It has always beenan issue with my UPSTREAM connection. Multiple modems being used, no change. When performing this test, I always disconnect from the router and connect straight into the modem so we can ensure the router is not causing the issue. I have used Cox's provided routers with the same issue, but currently I am using a retail router. I am so tired of paying so much money to get so little back. I would just like to get a working internet connection Edit: I would like to mention this issue is sporadic. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I can run a test with a normal range then come back in 5 minutes and I get the above. 20 minutes later it may work againif I am lucky, but if it does, then I can expect it to go down within another 10-20 minutes. I do have Giga blast service for the last 2 years. Lately 2-3 months back we are seeing Giga blast service is not really sending the speed it is supposed to . This is happening a lot during evening and night. I have complained to COX tech service and I am not getting any help to resolve. The speed we are getting in wired connection is in 200 MBPS or sometime in 80MBPS. This is misleading. With the same context the network light on the modem is always blinking orange, it never stays full Orange. I started to suspect that COX is throttling the speed in the evening. Arris Router(Surfboard SB6190) + ASUS Router (RT-AC5300), beast equipment<which is the first to get the blame> Let start with the current issue, 150 bucks a month for 300 down and 30 up, or in my case 98 down and 0.07 up. Money well spent, huh? Kicker, this was happening last month, multiple calls, three techs, finally one replaced wires, and presto amazing month of net, and bammm back to square one. I have been a cust for over 10+years, referred so many people to the company, now I am about to switch to ATT 1gb down when they get here, cause this is the worse experience I had had, with no long term solution. Oh by the by, both modem and router are less than a year old, tech that came out tested my equipment (no issues). I have been trying to sign into my email for 4 days and I cannot. I can sign into my account but I cannot get into email. I tried webchat and they were not able to help me. I called and they were not able to help me. I also never was switched to the new format. Our other accounts work fine. They can sign in and they have the new format. Since July 19 2017 I've been unable to download iMap messages from my Cox account. The error messages say either that I've been disconnected from the server or that I'm using too many iMap channels. Regarding the latter, I reset the maximum number of channels to 1 but still get the message. This is happening on both my home computer and at work. Until this morning I had not changed any settings in my email configuration, but at home this morning I changed the incoming port from 993 to 995 to bring the settings into accord with Cox's latest documentation. But this had no noticeable effect. I am using Mozilla Thunderbird 52.2.1 on iMacs running Mac OS 10.10.5 (Yosemite). Can you please shed some light on what's going on and how to fix these problems? Is there an issue with the webmail service right now? I have been having issues trying to connect via webmail starting 2/24. It hangs the little connect dot keep spinning when trying to load the mailbox, and if it actually loads, the mailbox itself is unresponsive or I get an error tells retry to refresh URL.14KViews0likes52Comments
