webmail issue

Is there an issue with the webmail service right now? I have been having issues trying to connect via webmail starting 2/24. It hangs the  little connect dot keep spinning when trying to load the mailbox, and if it actually loads, the mailbox itself is unresponsive or I get an error tells retry to refresh URL.

  • Hi Agrant, I am able to access my Cox Web Mail account: https://webmail.cox.net/
If you are using a saved link or a shortcut on your desktop, please open your internet browser and type the address in and let us know if this helps.

  • Same problem here, several of us have the issue and it's been going on for almost a month now. It comes and goes at random, everything seems to be fine in the morning though on my end. Webmail page is the ONLY page the does this.

Thus far Cox just keeps telling us to use other browsers or clear our cookies/cache while insisting it's an issue on the user's end.

    @Jaeger,

Are you using a saved URL from your favorites or are you typing the address in manually? Do you have the same experience using different computers or other devices?
  • I (We) have tried typing the address manually or using many different links through cox.com and cox.net.

We have tried using other computers and devices.

We have tried using other browsers.

We have tried clearing cache, cookies, history, etc.

    We have run virus scans.

For a month now several threads about this issue have been made on these forums and we get the same suggestions over and over and over. We have tried it all. For many of us, myself included, the problem still persists and is happening at this very moment as I try to access my webmail. The problem is on Cox's end.

  • Experiencing ridiculous wait times this morning- waiting for the server.  It certainly seems that nothing is being done besides deflect to some phantom cookies issue.  It's intermittent and it doesn't seem to matter which server is being used.

Once I get on there seems to be no problem navigating, reading, responding, deleting, etc.

But I suppose if I clear cookies and cache that'll fix everything... and if I do it twice I'll prevent the next customer from experiencing these stalls.

  • Like Stinkfoot said, as of 1 P.M. EST the issue is occurring on my end again as well. Later it will work fine, and then come midnight or so it will start acting up again.

  • We are having the same issue with email intermittent service, more noticeable during peak hours. Please don't give me the stall tactic, it's not on my home system, been through all the list of so called fixes. Is this a system overload on your end and when can we expect to see some improvement.

After every last customer clears his/her cookies and cache as well as tests every available browser in every possible configuration.  We've got work to do!

I would be happy to do all of that, as a matter of fact I already have more than once. I'm sure you're in the same boat, frustrating to say the least. Cox just needs to be honest with all of us, more customers than they can support

    I get the following error:

    Service Temporarily Unavailable

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.

Perhaps we should alll clear our cookies and cache at once- on the count of three... ready???

    One... two...
