Skip channels while channel surfing in Contour 2
In the previous version of my cable, Cox Contour, I was able to designate channels to skip while "surfing" channels (i.e., using the channel up and channel down buttons). As a result of this feature, the channels I had selected to skip did not come up while surfing. In the new Contour 2, this feature seems to be missing. There only seems to be an option to set a "favorites" list in the Guide but I don't surf channels via the guide; I like to use the channel up and channel down buttons as indicated earlier. Has anyone else noticed this obvious missing feature and/or figured out how to do what I'm asking? I can't believe that Cox would eliminate this feature purposely... Thank you.5.2KViews0likes4CommentsSick of seeing the sorry, we're having some trouble message
Atleast 2 or 3 times a day I receive an error message when I try and select a channel. It's not a specific channel that is having problems it's all over the place with issues. This is unacceptable. We switched to Cox with the promise of a visa card also and I haven't been able to get any answers about how to get that. I have reset the cable box many times and it solves the issue sometimes but not always. I need yall to correct both of these situations now4.4KViews0likes1CommentHow can I set my guide views to only show channels that are in my subscription?
We just switched from DirecTV yesterday. In general the Contour 2 whole home app is far and away superior to the DirecTV whole home system. However, the DTV receivers allowed you to show only the channels you subscribe to. This is really helpful to hide premium and foreign language channels that we couldn't watch without changing our subscription (or learning a new language, haha!) Cox support said I need to add ALL the channels in my subscription to my favorites. But that defeats the purpose of having a favorites list. And it appears I can only have one Favorites list. (Is that true?) Has anyone come up with a useful way to do what I'm trying to do? Thanks in advance!4.4KViews0likes4CommentsMissing Channels with Mini Box
I just installed my mini box on Saturday, and it seemed to be working fine. I was able to access all the channels I could when the cable plugged straight into my TV. By Sunday, however, it only allows me to view a handful of channels. For example, the lowest channels I can view (and that show up on my channel guide) are 11, 17, 21, 22 and 77. So I have no access to CBS, ABC, NBC, FOX, etc. I tried scanning for channels several times with no difference. I also had the box check itself for issues, but that came back fine. I even tried unplugging the box. I don't understand why it was fine yesterday, but now I can only access a few channels. I've noticed some people have had issues with the higher channels, but I have not seen anything yet about not having access to the channels under 20. Any help would be appreciated.Solved4KViews0likes5CommentsChannel 18 Estrella TV shows Court TV listings
Here in Ft Smith AR prior to January 14 2020 Channel 18 carried Estrella TV and the Contour program guide listed Estrella TV programming. Then suddenly the next day the program guide started listing programs for the Court TV channel but Estrella TV programs are still broadcast, and this discrepancy has persisted as of the date of this post. Setting my DVR to record Estrella TV programming is no longer possible. I checked with a number of Cox customers around the area and they see the same discrepancy on their Contour cable boxes. I called Cox tv support and they wanted to replace my cable box! Last week I went to the Cox Solutions store on Rogers Avenue and the tv displays in their show room have the same discrepancy! Nobody in the room could explain it. One employee said he would file a work order and let me know what he found out but I have heard nothing back. Does anybody know what this problem is and when will it be resolved? I hope they keep Estrella TV!3.5KViews0likes6CommentsNavigating Guide
When navigating the channel guide in Favorites mode I punch in a channel I want to ski to in the guide and I get the message that this channel is not in my "Favorites" and to switch to "All Channels". The issue is that the channel IS in my "Favorites". This is the case with all the channels i enter that are already in my "Favorites". I have tried rebooting the system but this didn't help.3.2KViews0likes8CommentsFoxNews unavailable?
Since yesterday morning Foxnews is unavailable. It shows a message that it's a Cox issue and to try back shortly. I've contacted support but they couldn't help. Resetting my receiver didn't help. With the Covid-19 pandemic families need to stay tuned to the news. I refuse to get my news from CNN or MSNBC as they can't be trusted. When will this be fixed.? For the past month our TBS channel (OKC channel 731) has not worked. The non-HD channel 62 works.. but HD 731 does not. We called the first time about 3 weeks ago.. and after running all of the tests they could not determine what was wrong. We were supposed to have received a call within 24-48 hours and did not. I called again a couple of days ago.. they ran more tests, had us check physical connections etc.. nothing helped. While we were waiting on the testing they were explaining the Contour and home phone bundling they were wanting us to "upgrade" to. By the end of the call, we had not signed up for the additional stuff and there was still no explanation for the missing TBS station. Now, FOX News and CNN are missing as well. Part of me feels like they went "missing" because we didn't sign up for their additional services. But I'm sure that's ridiculous. Has anyone else had this issue? Cox - if you're reading this - is there really no way we can get our channels back? I was told the channels would "definitely return" if we got the new contour box. But I really don't want to feel like I'm paying a ransom.3.1KViews0likes3CommentsMenu - really?
Customer service is telling me there is no way to be able to identify from the 3000 channels on the menu which ones you get...but they will send me a piece of paper showing all the ones I get so I can what, cross reference??? Really? Cox is WAY too big a firm to have this kind of bug in their process - and if it is meant to tease people into adding channels, that sure backfired with me since I'm considering going elsewhere based on the fact it takes me 30 minutes to find channels I get, and that I want to watch, and that are in HD.... Layer on that I get this breakdown in the picture/sound with a pop up, channel temporarily unavailable 2 or 3 times a minute....is providing cable really that complicated for COX?
