Thinking of watching Netflix via Contour? - a word of warning
Please don't misunderstand; I think Cox' offering of Netflix as an additional source for on demand viewing is terrific and proactive. For sure they aren't going to up and fade away because of competition. However, be prepared to wait. and wait. and wait for it to load using Contour 2. If you already have a streaming device (Apple TV, Amazon Fire, Chromecast or Roku) I would heavily recommend using that instead of Contour. I tried unplugging the DVR which is connected to the TV I attempted to view Netflix on demand on---no joy there. Your individual experience, like an EPA mileage estimate, may indeed vary.7.5KViews0likes13CommentsOn Demand missing episodes
For many many weeks, we are finding episodes of shows missing. It occurs with different shows and channels. I have called customer care, and they sent a repair technician out. This has not fixed the problem. Right now, General Hospital is missing a full week of shows. Shows do show up at some point, but there does not seem to be any r rhyme or reason.1.7KViews0likes1CommentContour Cable Box Freezing Constantly
My contour cable box is constantly freezing but only does so when I have the channel guide open or when I am browsing through On-Demand shows or movies. Additionally, if I have a show or movie playing, that show or movie will suddenly "crash"...it will freeze, the screen will go blank, and then the regular TV will come back on. Is there any fix for this that can be done from home without a technician? Do I need to purchase a different box? PLEASE HELP!!!25KViews1like6CommentsCox' 2017 FreeView Question
Having received an email from Cox about the upcoming 2017 FreeView promo I noticed this fine print on the web page: "App-based viewing limited to in-home viewing via Wi-Fi home network. Not all content may be available via app." and "On Demand requires a Cox digital receiver" As a Cox TV Premier customer there aren't that many channels I view on a regular basis which aren't already included in my current subscription, but now and then I *do* come across a title where, in addition to purchase, is available via On Demand. What I'm unclear on is, considering that up to now I rely exclusively on a Roku for streaming, whether, during this promo, I will now be able to view these shows/movies using the Contour 2 interface (clicking the "On Demand" option)?1.3KViews0likes1CommentDVR 'resume' feature
In the past I have been able to begin watching a show on one TV then move to another location and complete watching the show from the other TV by selecting "resume" on the recording. Lately this feature is seldom available and the only way I can NOW move from living room to bed room (for example) to finish watching a baseball game is to make a note of where the game is at time wize then fast forward to that point to continue watching. Why is the resume feature no longer available? FOLLOW UP QUESTION: iS THIS REALLY THE BEST YOU CAN DO FOR NEARLY 250.00 PER MONTH?1.2KViews0likes1CommentOn Demand App not showing up Tivo Bolt
Hello, I have had my Bolt for several months and I have never been able to get the On Demand App show up as a selectable option. I have been on the phone several times with Cox and Tivo support, neither one has been able to solve the problem. I have run through all the troubleshooting steps many many times. Then I stumbled upon this posting. http://forums.cox.com/forum_home/tv_forum/f/4/t/16421.aspx Could someone on the Cox support team check my cable card and my tuning adapter for the same flags? I assume that is my problem.3.9KViews0likes3CommentsPay for free tv?
Completely without preface, I'm now being charged to watch old episodes of free, network programs. Everyone I talk to at Cox tells me "there's nothing we can do, it's the networks that determine that". So, I do what I'm supposed to do (set the record time, even give it the maximum overrun time), the network airs the program late because of a sports or news overrun, Cox hasn't figured out how to record the right show (just the original time), so the network makes me go to on demand to pay for the show they put on at the wrong time. How many things are wrong with that? And, as with other major hassles, like not being able to keep my recorded shows when Cox trades out my broken or upgraded DVR, Cox CAN do something, they just chose not make an issue of it.1.2KViews0likes1CommentWhy aren't all episodes On Demand
My DVR dies last week, and you can not transfer shows to the new DVR (even though chat HELP will tell you differently which is a whole separate issue) So to catch up on the 70% full hard drive I lost, I have to watch my shows On Demand. Except not all shows have all episodes On Demand. For example Jane the Virgin - only has the last few episodes (but whole seasons before) Lethal Weapon has 1- 9 and 14-18 The list goes on and on. Can you explain the logic here?15KViews0likes6Comments
