While viewing the recording and then fast forwarding it often goes back to the beginning. We then need to fast forward to try to find where we were. Seems to only happen when viewing a recording that hasn't finished yet. We have the Panoramic Wi-Fi with DVR in the cloud and mini cable box. Not sure if that makes any difference. It's very frustrating. Re: Need to get Email alert if power failure I understand that it isn't available for a widespread outage. Not sure I follow what you're saying about a local outage. I've got my gateway/router on a battery backup. Don't know how to tell if all Cox service goes down with a local outage or not. Need to get Email alert if power failure I keep a large saltwater reef tank and may need to take action if a power failure occurs while I am not at home. I have my Wi-Fi router from Cox on a UPS to provide backup power for a short time after a power failure to allow my tank automation to send me an email notification. I've had this set up for months now but never get any email notification. Luckily the automation I have on my tank does notify me that it has lost connection to the internet but this is only after the power has been out for around an hour. I'd much rather get notified immediately, hence my desire for an email. Is there a way to do this? Or does the internet come down in all power outages regardless of cause and how widespread it is? Fast forwarding randomly causes recording to go back to beginning This seems to happen only when recording a live sports program (i.e. long) and then viewing the program from the VCR while it is still recording. Sometimes when I hit fast forward the recording just goes back to the beginning and loses my place. Other times it fast forwards fine but when I stop fast forwarding it goes back to the beginning, and still other times it shows that it went back to the beginning but it actually doesn't. I don't think this happens if I wait to view the program until the recording is finished but for football games or golf tournaments this is very frustrating. Re: Slow speed already - Can I downgrade without it getting worse? P.S. I have the Panoramic WiFi with the Arris TG1682G router Slow speed already - Can I downgrade without it getting worse? I have the Cox Ultimate 500 internet yet my download speeds are less than half what is advertised. They average between 150 and 175 Mbps. If I downgrade my service to Ultimate 250 will Cox force the speed even lower, or will it likely stay the same? Mickey Re: Whitelist servers Thank you, Chris. I'll proceed with my troubleshooting and problem solving the iFit issues without whitelisting since all the sites seem available and hope for the best. Whitelist servers I use iFit application on a tablet connected to my Nordictrack treadmill. It's recently had some problems with syncing and while troubleshooting and problem solving online with their tech support they said to check my router to make sure some servers are whitelisted. I can't figure out how to do that through wifi.cox.net nor through my Panoramic wifi router. Here's specifically what they said: Please check your router settings and ensure the following servers are whitelisted: • google.com (http://google.com) • gateway.ifit.com (http://gateway.ifit.com) • ifit-wolf.s3-cdn.ifit.com (http://ifit-wolf.s3-cdn.ifit.com) • cdn.ifit.com (http://cdn.ifit.com) • app.launchdarkly.com (http://app.launchdarkly.com) So how can I do this? Mickey What happened to El Rey Network? Title says it all. Last week it was at channel 187 and today it's gone. Re: New Cox service and phone jacks not working Thanks for trying. I'll contact Cox.
