The tivo edge isn't a COX device. The fact that TIVO is selling it, is up to Tivo. Whether the needed materials to use it from a cable provider isn't a Tivo issue, NOR is it the issue of the cable provider, it's up to people to research and find that information out for themselves.
It is not acceptable that a company sell you something that they know will not be functioning with their cable company. Imagine buying a car and then find out there is no gas available for that car. Is it up to the seller to disclose you can't buy gas? Yes, it is up to the seller to disclose information like that before they sell their product. In the near future, the television broadcast technology is changing to ASTC or NextGen TV and your current television OR TiVo will not be capable of receiving this signal. This means no signal = no television. When will this happen? It is already being rolled out in a number of cities. Read between the lines. Your DVR's will no longer function along with your television. Does TiVo know this? You bet they do.

This "change" will not be a gov't mandate as was changing from analog to digital TV broadcast signals. ATSC 3.0 or NextGen will be voluntary for the affiliates.
However, it would be wise for the affiliates to continue or simultaneously broadcast in ATSC 1.0 (there is no ATSC 2.0) to continue reaching their complete audience.
Cox is QAM so if cox is selling no issues
