programs don't finish playback on dvr

when playing back recorded shows the recording stops and will not go any farther. They just get stuck. Some shows will switch over to on demand but then we can't ff through commercials. Is this common. I'm about to cancel service. I pay for a dvr service that I can barely use.

    I'd hate to lose you as a customer before taking a closer look at what is causing the chronic issues you describe. Are you having this issue on all boxes? If just one is it the host or client boxes? Have you tried rebooting the box to see if that helps?

      I've rebooted both boxes. Yes this happens to both host and client box.
