i bought two 55" samsungs 3 years ago, turns out one had a bad screen.
tv's were 4k capable. under warranty, a tech came out/swapped the screen + showed me a 4k presentation on usb.
colors/detail were so much better than regular cox tv but none of the local stations were doing 4k.
live diamondback baseball is great, even with cox tv, put up on fox sport channel in hd.
i select only hd presentation with the contour tv guide.
Soooo...you can watch live TV on the W4KCSP?
No broadcast or cable network has UHD programs. 1080p/60FPS, yes, and the W4KCSP is limited to this format...unless you stream via Internet.

You can't discern between HD and UHD?

quite honestly i'm not sure how to check!
all channels or hd only are only options!

That's funny.

why, turns out after a 10min wait for cox chat, no networks are broadcasting uhd tv in my area?
is uhd available where you are?

Yes...no broadcast or cable network in the US provides UHD programming. There are special occasions (Super Bowl, World Series, etc) but Cox would need a dedicated UHD channel to carry those special occasions.
What's funny is you can't tell the difference between HD and UHD. However...just like between low-rez and hi-rez music...most people can't tell the difference. This is because although UHD adds more pixels, some of its processing (color gamut, color bit rate, dynamic range, color subsampling) is currently limited HD technology.

believe it or not, i do understand more pixels, better viewing!
i'm at a loss why you think it's funny that i can't tell the difference, when there's nothing for comparison.

More pixels isn't always better viewing because 720p looks better than 1080i. UHD isn't supposed to be limited to only more pixels. UHD should include the oomph factor with higher dynamic range...higher color gamut...higher bit rate. HD with more pixels looks like HD with more pixels...boring!
What's funny is you opt for 4K boxes but can't tell the difference between HD and UHD.
