Exactly
I was able to locate your account based on the email address you registered your Forums user ID with. I ran some tests on the modem and the modem is showing timeout errors. Please check for any loose or bad cables. If there is a splitter in your connection, disconnect the splitter from the modem and wall outlet and connect the coax cable from the modem to the wall. I understand that you’ve reset the modem multiple times. I would like you to reseat the connection (unscrew/retighten both ends of coaxial cables from the wall and to the modem). While reseating the connection, unplug the power to the modem and once you’ve reseated the connection, plug the power back in.

I don't think it's a problem with proper network devices, such as laptops, tablets, streamers, etc; but a problem with Internet-of-Things (IoT) devices, such as thermostats, light bulbs, aquarium pumps, etc.
Standard WiFi is everywhere but has limitations in both range and energy-efficiency for smarts. IEEE addressed these limitations with 802.11ah and 802.11ax. If the OP's smarts use the 802.11ah/ax spec, I guess the question becomes...does a Cox router support the 802.11ah/ax specs? Maria?
It appears the neighbor's router is IoT friendly.

At first this router was setup directly connected to the wall but wasn't working. Then i bought the connector to put the router at an elevated place to avoid any hindrances. I don't mind trying it again but I'm not sure it'll work

No luck MariaL. I removed the connector and put it directly. I've left it this way for now. Could you try checking again for timeout errors? May be it's the router that's faulty and needs to be replaced?
