My first night as a Cox customer

Just moved to Arizona from New york, where I was an optimum customer, and never really had problems.

Signed up for Cox 100 mb/S internet yesterday, picked up the modem and installed it today. Get home at night, looking forward to streaming Netflix, and there's no service at all.  Log into the cox website on my phone, to find out theres an estimated 6 hour long outage. Great, so the internet won't work at all my first night of having it.

While I'm on the website, it tells me I have a special offer available to me. For $5 more a month, i can upgrade to the 300 mb/S internet. I figure, "sure, $5, why not?" I add it to the cart, and proceed to check out. Right before I submit the order, I notice that somehow, that "$5 more a month" will make my bill go from $67 to $103.

So, first impression is that cox is a complete nightmare. Please tell me it gets better.
