As of 9:05 AM CDT I am unable to receive mail on my computer, using Apple Mail, my iPad, or my phone. I can however send mail and receive mail through Cox Web Mail. I called tech help and, as usual, they are unaware of any problems or outages on their end. Anyone else having problems or is it just me??
You are not alone. COX has to be the worst provider ever. The up the fees and give worse service. I have a constant issue like this with Cox, but NEVER with Gmail, AOL or other service providers. JUST COX. Horrible service but they have a monopoly in Laguna Beach and City Council must be in their pocket. I would switch in a heart beat if I could.
I use gmail as my main email and thunderbird has pulled that down okay. I just have a cox email since I need it for my cox account. The only problem with gmail is they do spam filtering and you can't turn that off, so I have to check on the web periodically because they put valid email in the spam folder and thunderbird does not download anything but the inbox.
so...are you advertising for gmail/Google??
Yes, this has been doing this for the last few weeks, they lie so much it is hard to believe any thing from them.
I tried "LIVE CHAT", which is a joke because it's a machine, not a real person. Then I canned the 877 number, waited on hold for 20 minutes, then was disconnected. I tried calling back again and it rejects my call. Just horrible service and support.

It is not just you. Starting last evening thunderbird trying to pull down mail got timeouts. Same thing this morning except a couple of times it said Temporary Authentication Failure, I could send email up until I few minutes ago, now I get some incomprehensible error I am too lazy to type in. Located in Rhode Island.
LOL, same here, I also get some kind of gibberish error with an incomprehensible code thingy. After 3 tries at sending, it tells me I'm blocked because, you know, maybe I'm a spammer...all because I tried to reply to a client email. Cannot describe my level of SICK AND TIRED right now.

It's not just the imap server. I use imap on several of my devices but use pop on one computer. Both imap and pop can not connect. It certainly would be nice to hear something from someone connected with Cox.
Same here, using Outlook to retrieve my Cox email. This is a consistent problem that happens every 6 months or so...and it's been going on for years. Support will give you the runaround. Then eventually, somewhere in the basement of Cox support, someone will do something that magically fixes the issue for everyone...until the next time. Just keep on top of your posting and demand they fix it. Tired of this BS every few months.
Yep, here too (Central Georgia) Was working only intermittently in Outlook yesterday--today not at all. Was able to check webmail yesterday, but now that doesn't work, either. Guess the guys "in the basement" just took the mail servers offline now to fix the problem they claim they don't have.
BrianM. It['s been two days since you replied...it's been a couple of weeks since I've had this problem 24/7. Are they really doing ANYTHING?
When will this email issue be fixed? Going on two weeks for me
