Mail server down????

As of 9:05 AM CDT I am unable to receive mail on my computer, using Apple Mail, my iPad, or my phone.  I can however send mail and receive mail through Cox Web Mail.  I called tech help and, as usual...

You are not alone.  COX has to be the worst provider ever.  The up the fees and give worse service.  I have a constant issue like this with Cox, but NEVER with Gmail, AOL or other service providers.  JUST COX.  Horrible service but they have a monopoly in Laguna Beach and City Council must be in their pocket.  I would switch in a heart beat if I could.

    I use gmail as my main email and thunderbird has pulled that down okay.  I just have a cox email since I need it for my cox account.  The only problem with gmail is they do spam filtering and you can't turn that off, so I have to check on the web periodically because they put valid email in the spam folder and thunderbird does not download anything but the inbox.

        the problem with the free webmail accounts is that they also filter/block some attachments with certain extensions (gmail is by far the worst I have experienced). So there's always a drawback, regardless of which type of client you use.
