Frequent Internet Dropping

My cox high speed internet, is constantly dropping the internet and re-establishing connection.  Seems like it does it 3 or 4 times an hour.  Very frustrating. I upgraded to a Netgear Nighthawk Modem-Router.  Which is on the high end of Cox's recommendation.  This is not a WiFi issue as my PC is cabled to the Nighthawk directly.

Had a tech come out 6 months ago, he boosted the signal strength thinking that would fix it.  But it is still happening.

    I'm sorry to hear you continue to experience connection loss! What are you doing when you experience the connection loss? When you lose internet connection are the lights on the Netgear C7800 going out or staying on, and what error comes up when you lose internet connection? In your setup, is there a splitter or a signal amplifier visible inside the home or connected between the wall and the WIFi Modem?
