FREE INTERNET FOR 60 DAYS???
Is Cox going to be as generous and thoughtful as Comcast, AT&T and Charter are being and provide free Internet service for 60 days to its loyal and faithful customers?

Hi all, Cox has announced support for the FCC’s "Keep America Connected initiative" as a part of the ongoing COVID-19 response efforts. For the next 60 days, we will work with customers that indicate they are having financial hardships due to the ongoing pandemic, by offering flexible payment arrangements and waiving late fees. We will also open Cox WiFi hotspots to help keep the public connected in this time of need.

I was already a month behind before all this exploded because my wife and I have been in financial strain following her cancer dx and subsequent treatment/surgery late last year. I've been trying to make ends meet with ridesharing and food delivery services but with everything closing down now (and more people than ever signing up for the service and competing for calls) due to coronavirus, runs have fallen off significantly.
I called Cox support today to ask if this applied to me as well and was told no BECAUSE I was a month behind. I was told I still had to pay my past due balance by March 30 or service would be terminated. Depending on how much worse this gets (Virginia hasn't forcibly closed restaurants yet, but I expect it will soon), I doubt I'll have the money for the past due amount by then.
So much for "Keeping America Connected". Silly me for thinking there wouldn't be a bunch of loopholes.
