YAHOO wants my driver's license number to help with my account transition. I asked the person helping me for their driver's license number /phone number and email address and real name before I give him mine... Crickets.. Big problem trying to use outlook 2016 with Yahoo. Not all of my subfolders made it.. CURSE cox for ruining my life! This really sucks. I'm looking for options!!

Hopefully Cox will lose a lot of subscribers. They treat customers like dirt, their marketing is simply a boat load of lies.

It took me from 6:30 to 11:55pm last night from the 1st call to cox tech support and then making multiple calls to yahoo support, at which point I was totally upset with the lack of concern for all my time being wasted.
"thank you for your patience" does nothing but incense me, while I am put on hold, from incompent people who don't know how to do their jobs and think nothing of keeping me on hold while the seach for possible answers to what they should do to fix the problems. 42 min. of the 3d call she said she would put me through to a senior advisor, I waited and waited for this person to come on the line and then the call disconnected.
According to cox this was suppose to be a simple switch.
Well it wasn't and I'm really upset at how it affected me as well as making it impossible to sleep last night because of how angry this mess made me!

After 30+ years of being a loyal customer with Cox, you'd think they would have given us a choice of which provider to switch to. Yahoo would never have been my choice, and never will be. I recently just set up my Gmail accounts with Outlook (2010), and it was so easy (and I am in no way a "techy" person). I set IMAP instead of POP, that way I can access my emails from all of my devices. Thank you Cox!

I'm in same boat and agree we'd never choose Yahoo for email accounts. Twenty-five year Cox email customer here with large email archives and files. My family established Gmail accounts once we learned Cox was ceasing email support and handing it to Yahoo. We're glad we did.
I did manage, after two days of trying and reading posts here, to get our Cox accounts over to Yahoo and get it working on our Windows Outlook software and Apple iPhones. Was a real challenge but eventually it worked. Because Cox technical support was not useful and Yahoo support was minimal, we're shifting totally to Gmail.

I'm also 25 + years with Cox and I'm pretty upset about this Yahoo switchover. I would never select Yahoo as my default email and I don't know a lot of people who would. Thankfully, I already have a GMail account that I was able to use for the dozens of 2 factor authentication codes Yahoo sent while I was trying to set up the new accounts. Can you believe that some of the 2 factor codes I needed were sent to my Cox email account. Yes, the same Cox email account that I can no longer access; there is a way to get around this, but you really have to dig around the Yahoo site to figure it out. I've used Thunderbird for my Cox email accounts for years but I cannot get Yahoo to recognize any logins from Thunderbird - I keep getting log in errors. I have finally given up in frustration. And you new Yahoo users, get used to all the ads that will appear in your email list; an additional bonus, the ads cannot be deleted unless you switch over to the extra cost Yahoo Premium. Oh, and the phone number Cox gave us in case you need help? Get out the Visa card before you call.
A HUGE raspberry to Cox for this.

Yes, this whole transition sucks. Customer service is non existent when it comes to help with Outlook. I've tried every POP and IMAP setting and can't get Cox / Yahoo / Outlook to talk to each other.

I had the same problem with outlook not working with Yahoo.. I gave up. I'm transitioning all my emails to another account away from Yahoo. I'm going to leave my 2 cox addresses open on their server and check back to see if any stray emails get sent there. I'm looking for options!! This is no way to treat a customer.. Especial one that has been with cox for decades. I have never heard of having to give up your drivers license number to prove who you are to get help like with Yahoo! Is this a harbinger of things to come?
