Not happy with cox right now!
Hello everyone just pretty curious to see has anyone’s Internet been out for the past two weeks. Our Internet goes down daily for 2 to 3 hours a day and at night for at least three hours not understanding why no reason app always says no issues in your area just trying to find out why can anyone help me with this? In my apartment complex we are all provided with free 500mb panoramic wifi. The morning of 12/5/2024 i experience an outage as stated by my cox app and said the issue should be resolved by the afternoon. Shortly after, the outage notification disappeared, however my wifi never returned. Since then, it has been blinking orange, seemingly unable to establish a connection. Since there’s no sign of an outage in the entire complex and I’ve seen no cox service vehicle, I presume I’m the only one here experiencing this issue. I’ve tried multiple power cycles, and replacement of my coax cables, to no avail. I’m truly at a loss and I have no wifi to work on my papers for my college finals. This truly could not have happened at a more inconvenient time for me and the soonest appointment I could make for a technician to come look is still over 2 days away, and I have papers due before then. 12/6/24 starting around 4pm CST our internet speed became noticeably slow and then shut off completely. The Cox app tried resetting the modem and when that didn't work, suggested scheduling a technician. The modem is able to connect and be pinged remotely, but the internet still isn't working. Nothing has changed with our equipment. The internet just stopped working out of nowhere. Now we have to wait for a technician, with the possibility of being charged for a service call. Off and on for about the past several weeks, my 1Gb internet service has been going out. It usually happens after midnight and 12:30 AM, usually lasting for several hours. All of the coaxial cable in my home is fairly new, as is Arris SB8200 Cable Modem, which I own, and my Linksys Mesa Wifi 5 - 3 Band Router. One night I had stayed up late to see if the internet would come back up. I finally went to bed at 3:00 AM, and the service was still offline. I have called your tech support before, I believe about 2 months ago, but I got level 1 personnel, who read off the standard flowchart. After the calls, the outages stopped for several weeks, then started back up again. For the record, I never had this kind of problem with the slower internet service, that also utilized the same modem I am currently using. Today, there was a Cox tech in the neighborhood, not a contractor, but a Cox employee. I thought he might be doing repairs in the area to the distribution boxes, but he was doing a home install. I told him about the problem and he stated that YES, Cox has been having problems with the Modems that Cox rents to their customers, doing exactly what I described, usually going offline after midnight. He stated that he was not aware of any other modems doing it, but that I should contact Cox about the issue. I am retired, and often stay up late at night watching shows and movies through various streaming services. Very annoying when my internet service suddenly goes out halfway through a movie or a show. I would also like to see this problem get rectified once and for all. Fiber internet is coming online to my area very soon, as the cables have already been installed in the neighborhood. I would hate to have to switch as I've been a Cox customer for several decades now, but I'm not going to be for much longer if this disruption to service continues unabated. This is unacceptable! We pay a significant amount each month, yet we are frequently left without service. Now, we've been without Internet and TV for the past five hours on a Friday night! I have recorded Copycat on my DVR and almost 90% of the time I get error code XRE-03091. I’ve called tech support and they said they have put in 2 tickets now but I haven’t heard anything back from Cox. I don’t understand the problem because it was recorded on 10/24/24 on my DVR boxes If I could purchase the movie, I would but that’s not an option. Please fix my issue! I have an old Harmony 650 controlling my cox contour box via the Myharmony app but there is no "Contour" button in the Myharmony and though it works as an IR remote, it will not learn/fix a command, e.g. can't teach the Harmony the Contour button which is the "Home" button the Cox remote. After logging in, it goes to a page that says: "Your Gateway May Be Offline" We're unable to reach your Gateway right now. Sign out it was working fine at the old address. It’s been 2 days without internet. I’ve talked to support twice and was told it was due to either maintenance issues or network interference. What is going on?! I pay for 2gb of internet and I can’t access service. It’s been 2 days and I work from home. This is insane.
