Box resetting frequently

Our main boxes and all mini boxes have been resetting randomly. All cables are fine nothing has changed but now it resets and comes back after a few long minutes. Have contacted multiple times and Cox says they can’t see an issue on their end so I spend a half hour talking to them to have it just come back on even after they said they didn’t see any issues. Very frustrating to have to reach out every couple of days to see why it isn’t working.

    If you have multiple cable boxes in various locations around your house that all reset, you might have an intermittent signal issue.  It would probably be on the upstream side of any splitters that go to different boxes, unless you have multiple issues with your cables.  It could be difficult to locate because, unlike a weak signal, your signal could appear normal when Cox tests, but then briefly drop completely.  The time it takes to come back on could just be the time it takes for your boxes to reboot.

    Another possibility is electrical blips.  Do your lights flicker, or do you frequently have to reset electrical devices that require a reset after a loss of power?  You might try getting a battery backup to smooth out electricity issues for one or more of your cable boxes.  It would also allow you to monitor your house voltage.  If it's too low or frequently blips, contact your power company.  They might fix it for free.

    Has anything helped? We have had the same issues since Cox sent new mini boxes. When you turn one of them on all tvs that are on reset. We have called and switched out boxes with no fix.
