On a Roku, how do I stream Cox channels I pay for
I have Cox digital and a Roku. I have managed to get some of the Discovery and History channels to stream on my Roku..Not live tv.. Yet other channels will not stream. Such as Boomerang cartoon channel, CBS live, ABC live, etc., that I pay for, through Cox. How do I get these channels to link to my Roku through my Cox account without having to pay additional fees for the channel? Is there a way to stream ALL Cox channels on the Roku? Is there a Cox Contour app for Roku? Thanks in advance for any, useful, help.31KViews0likes4CommentsYouTube TV, YouTube, and Apple Devices
This issue began around 9 PM July 28, US Mountain Time: YouTube TV and YouTube are no longer streaming over Cox Gigablast on an AppleiOS device - this includes iPhone, AppleTV, and iPad. YouTube and Youtube TV work fine over the same connection on a HP Microsoft laptop. Apple TV is connected via ethernet cable and I have confirmed download speeds over 900mbps. All other steaming apps work fine, including Netflix, HBOMax, and Apple TV. Only YouTube TV and YouTube do not stream. The iPhones and iPads are connected over Wi-Fi and neither app works. However, when we force those devices to use cellular only (Verizon), YouTube and YouTube TV stream correctly. We have reset the modem, deleted and reinstalled the YouTube TV apps, and reset the Apple TV. Nothing has worked yet. Any suggestions? Did Apple and Cox get into a fight last night?875Views0likes0CommentsAll Streaming Apps Lagging on Contour Bixes and Sound Issues
Okay, over the past week or so, we've been having a handful of issues...Randomly we'll have our audio just cut out. Maybe for 1 to 5 seconds or sometimes I have to change the channel and change it right back and it instantly fixes it. This only happens while watching one the contour box.(just a note for later). Also, for about the same amount of time, all of our streaming services when attempting to watch thru the contour boxes would lose sound with light lag./freezes here and there. This has been getting worse and worse as time goes on. As of tonight, all our streaming services are lagging and freezing so bad, they have been deemed unwatchable on the contour boxes.... But on the upside I know this issue is one cox's side. I switch over to the Apps in my 70 inch Samsung and all Streaming services work flawlessly. I literally forgot streaming could load this fast! I have unlimited data and get 580mb/s download 10mb/s upload, So speeds and usage isn't an issue. If a mod or anyone else might have an idea how to fix the streaming services on contours side, please, I'm totally up for suggestions. I've done everything from resetting all the boxes, one at a time by inplugging, reset the boxes all at once on Cox's. Also the same with the modem unplugged waited 30 seconds plugged back in(blah blah blah) and reset thru the cox app. I've also done a hard reset on the modem.1.8KViews0likes2CommentsI believe there are settings in my Cox router/account that are blocking the embedded video from displaying inside my LAN.
I stream video from IP cameras inside my LAN (Cox Panorama router) to a website hosted outside my network. Although everyone accessing my website (http://okiebirdcam.com) from their browsers can see my web page AND the video, I, inside my LAN browsing to the page can only view the HTML page, NOT the embedded video. I’ve tried using Chrome, Edge and Firefox and the problem remains consistent.881Views0likes1CommentESPN HD becomes Pixelated, unwatchable during Monday Night Football when on TV
Hello, This problem has come up before, but no solution was posted. Since the previous post is locked, I'm creating a new one. This problem does not occur when streaming other Cox HD channels, for example TNTHD during movies, and seems to happen primarily during the live stream of Monday Night Football (MNF) specifically.Other channels have been checked during the same time as MNF streaming and do not have the issue. I'm having the exact same problem as the one posted here. In addition to the details provided, the picture quality becomes unwatchably pixelated, the entire stream freezes, and the movement is choppy even when the HD is working. Whether streaming on my laptop or via HDMI to the TV, the issue persists. In attempting to diagnose the problem I have tried both wired (cat7) and wireless internet connections and using 3', 6', and 10', 4k rated hdmi cables. I'm streaming from a Lenovo laptop with a Radeon Vega integrated graphics card. Internet speed test shows 261.8 Mbps down and 11.9 Mbps up via ethernet cable. The TV is a LG 55" OLED. I'm streaming from Hartford. As far as I can tell, there is no hardware or connectivity issues that could explain the extremely poor quality. Other channels stream without the same quality issues. Looking for solutions/explanations. Hoping this isn't a throttling issue with a busy ESPN MNF live stream. Thanks!6.7KViews0likes10CommentsBuying my own Modem (panaroma user)
I am looking to buy my own modem and router combo for the Gig speeds for Cox due to the issues I am having streaming on twitch. For some reason I am not getting the speeds when streaming, but getting the speeds doing everything else. I did a little research and found there is a certain software the panaromic modems use that interfere with the connection with Twitch. I am looking to purchase theCM600 is a DOCSIS 3.0from Netgear and was just wondering if anyone has purchased this one. Also, is it compatible with Cox here in Oklahoma. If anyone has any information, please let me know. 980 mbps down 50 mbps up is what I am getting right now and I cannot stream with Twitch. -Sean798Views0likes1CommentSlow Upload Speeds; Trying to Stream on Twitch
So recently I have been trying to stream on Twitch.tv, and even thoughwe paying for the Ultimate Internet package, which includes 30mbps upload, I am only able to stream at 3500 bitrateand this still doesn't guarantee a good quality stream without dropped frames. I would also like to mention that even though we are paying for this service, I am getting an average of about 20-24mbps upload, with it very rarely reaching 30mbps. I called about this a week ago I had two techs come out so far. One came out Monday the 17th and another came out today at around noon. The first tech said everything should be fixed by Friday, but I have performed multiple speed tests since then and I have yet to see speeds remotely close to 30mbps aside from a couple trials. (see attached image) He also put in a ticket for someone from Cox's maintenance team to come and see if there were any issues on the line outside my house, and from what I have been told, everything has been resolved yet I am still experiencing less than expected upload speeds. I also have performed multiple Twitch Bandwidth tests toverify that there is an issue with my upload speed, and sure enough I get mediocre bandwidth results along with very low quality connections to servers that are close to me. (see attached image) Not sure what to do at this point because it seems like getting a tech out here for the third time would be nothing but a nuisance to them, since all they do is come here and tell me they can't do anything about it and that they will forward the issue. Hopefully someone on here can provide me with some help. Thanks11KViews0likes17CommentsAnother Twitch Stream thread.
I have been streaming to Twitch for the last several years with ZERO issues. Over the past two days i am not able to maintain a connection to Twitch servers at all. I have run multiple speed tests and spoken with multiple technicians who seem to have no idea on how to help me. I have tried resetting/restarting both my modem and my router about 347 times now and its doing absolutely nothing for my connection. Has anyone been able to come up with a REAL answer to this?6.7KViews0likes11Comments
