Yahoo Email Transition - Links & Resources
Hi All, We've pulled together a list of the most helpful threads you've posted related to the Cox.net email move to Yahoo. Thanks to our community members for sharing your tips and tricks! Also, just a quick note, not all customers and email accounts are being transitioned at the same time. You will receive emails from Cox in advance to let you know about your email moving to Yahoo. When your email is ready to make the move, you will receive an email from Yahoo with instructions on how to do so. If you have multiple email addresses, each of them will receive their own individual instructions when they are ready to move. On to the Topics! Hey all, I transitioned to Yahoo today and established credentials and everything without a hitch. (I didn't use the password generation, FYI) The problem is I cannot see my many inbox subfolders in Outlook anymore. If I log in to Yahoo webmail they're there, but they're flat-out missing in Outlook. Does anyone know of the fix for this? TIA, SteveSolved2.2KViews1like22CommentsCox email move
For Office Outlook users - will it help to Open & Export an Outlook data file [.pst]. Then Import after you get Outlook set up with the 'app password'referenced in Yahoo story: "Update your cox.net email settings in Outlook, Mail on Mac and other third-party email clients" Microsoft walked me thru this process when I updated to Office 2013. Waiting until I update to Office 2021 [later this week] to try to add my cox emails back in. Yahoo story does not reference Office 2019 or 2021- hoping it will be the same.85Views0likes1CommentI fixed my Outlook email problem after Cox "maintenance"
Hi all, Like all (?) Outlook users, I lost the ability to receive mail a week ago (I could still send). I use Windows 10 Pro, version 1903 (OS build 18362.746). I am using Outlook Version 1911 (build 12228.20332). I fixed my connection issue by disabling the use of TLS 1.0 by Windows 10.I suspect the "maintenance" was to require TLS 1.2 connections. Our Outlook clients are trying to connect using TLS 1.0 and get rejected. Here's how I did it. The first step may not be required -- I think it was the second step that was definitive. NOTE: These directions are essentially the same as those here:https://windowsreport.com/how-to-disable-tls-1-0/ 1. Disable TLS 1.0 in Internet Settings Press Windows Key + S [This will bring up Search] Type "internet options" into search bar The Internet Properties window pops up Select the "Advanced" tab Scroll down to the bottom, the "Security" section. Uncheck "Use TLS 1.0" Note: I also unchecked TLS 1.1, and I checked Use TLS 1.3 (experimental). You may not need to do that. 2. Edit the Registry to Disable TLS 1.0 Press Windows Key + R [this brings up the "Run" window] type "regedit" in Run to run the registry editor Then, in the left-hand tree view, open up this key path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\Protocols I couldn't see TLS 1.0 and Client subkeys went I arrived at the end of the above key path, so I had to create them. To create them: right-click on Protocols and select New > Key then enter "TLS 1.0" as the key title Next, right click on the TLS 1.0 key you just created, and select New > Key again. Enter "Client" as the title. Then, select the Client key, and in in the empty-space to the right of it, right-click and select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value Enter "Enabled" as the new DWORD's title The default value for this new Enabled DWORD is 0 (zero), which disables TLS 1.0. Finally, restart Windows (reboot). My Outlook IMAP Settings for Cox The above procedure should have restored your prior configuration to a working state. If it's not, here are is my working Outlook configuration. Recall that I am using Windows 10, with OutlookVersion 1911 (build 12228.20332) as part of Office 365. Note that I use IMAP and not POP. It Outlook, select the File menu In the Account Information screen, press the "Account Settings" button, then select "Server Settings" The IMAP Account Settings -- Incoming mail -- window appears: Now press the "Outgoing mail" link in this window. Now the IMAP settings for outgoing mail appears: Good Luck & Merry Christmas!3.4KViews1like0CommentsMy Cox Emails (seven of them) Worked on Outlook Until last Week. What Happened?
Outlook has been playing pretty well with my Cox email addresses--until last week. i got the0x80072EE7 error forone address.Today, I got it for several of them. I have tried all the online fixes, and NOTHING WORKS. What changed? (I have found old posts about this from when Windows 10 was introduced, but they all say the issue was fixed.)1.2KViews0likes1CommentNot reviving emails from Microsoft Outlook
The company I work for sends emails from Microsoft outlook to various email address including cox emails. When sending emails to the cox emails our clients are not reviving the emails and there is no bounce back on the emails not being delivered. We have tried sending emails to our own personal cox emails to test whether it is on Microsofts part but our personal emails through cox are having no issue. Even replying to a received email from a cox account is not being received on the cox end. These emails are very important and time sensitive. How can we ensure that when we send emails from Microsoft outlook to cox emails that they will be delivered.1.2KViews0likes0CommentsOutlook / Cox Email Connection
Recently, every time Outlook does a send/receive of my email, it puts up a popup messagerequesting user name and password. Says it can't validate my information on the cox server. Even though this information is stored, and even when I check the box telling it to store the information, it continues to put up this annoying popup. I can log into webmail without issues and I can "repair" the account in outlook via the accounts and everything works fine (although outlook says Cox server has not encrypted connection, so it has to establish via unencrypted means)...I even get me test page sent to me. Then randomly, the messages begin to pop up again. Running windows 10 & Office 2013 on the same PC for several years now with no issues. This is irritating.959Views0likes1CommentOutlook unable to send emails
I am using Outlook 2013 on a Surface running Windows 10. The error message I get when testing send message is:Send test e-mail message: Outlook cannot connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). My Outlook email box is configured to use POP3 (port 110) and SMTP (port 25). My username and password are specified for both receiving and sending. When I use the same settings on my Sprint cell phone network, Outlook works just fine. I therefore assume this is a Cox configuration issue. If you need additional information, just ask, as I am in IT professional, and am willing to work with you to resolve this issue. Please advise.4.2KViews0likes6CommentsYour Mailbox Is Approaching Its Quota!!
I'm getting this message regularly. For some reason my folders in Outlook are synced to folders in Cox Mail. Whenever I intentionally save an email in an Outlook folder it saves it in Cox Mail. I do not want to delete these emails. They are important to me. I'm afraid if I delete emails from my Cox Mail folders they will also be deleted from my Outlook folders. How do I un-sync my Outlook from Cox Mail so I don't exceed my Cox Mail quota?2.1KViews0likes0Comments
